Food was okay but not remarkable in any way. Service was slow and unfriendly. Cash only

Cash only! But the fried clams and lobster rolls were the best way to start my weekend trip! The seafood is fresh and fried to perfection!

Made special trip from Boston on our way to Provincetown to visit the Clam Shack. Much to our dismay it was CLOSEDFORTHESEASON. Left very disappointed and hungry. Heads-up if you’re headed this way!

Great falmouth experience. The fried clams are the best. Surprisingly the french fries are mediocre but the onion rings are best I have ever had. Be prepare to bring cash, and spend over $ 100 because the place is not cheap. The amenities are lacking but the location at the mouth of the harbor is perfect.

Complete rip-off. A casual road-side place with no restroom, dirty tables, paper plates charges such prices! I have ordered a scallop plate(includes fries and cole slaw) and a coke. Ended up spending $ 28 for below average food. Their slaw is made with vinegar instead of mayo, and it’s a lot of vinegar — wouldn’t recommend. The plate mostly consisted of French fries. The scallops were meh as well. Overall: go spend your money some place else. Totally not worth the price.

I ordered a small fried clam strips to go for $ 12.31. The strips were well battered and were very crispy. The price is a bit pricy for the amount in my opinion. This place is cash only. I couldn’t find restroom or a place to wash my hands at this place though…

Just had lunch at the Shack. It was a mixed bag. Lobster roll — Very good, but on the small side Clams Plate — Clams were amazing. Fries under cooked and soggy. Cole slaw tasty but warm because it was under the clams and hot fries Onion Rings — foul. Worst ever tried. Greasy. Side order Fried fish — Good Diet coke — Delish Total — $ 60.50 Nice atmosphere on the pier. Wish the tables outside had a little shade. You have to eat in complete sun. A few tables inside. A bit pricey for lunch, the clams really were awesome.

Classic spot, enormous portions. We got the clam strips platter and was enough for 3(ok, one happened to be a kid). Small inside for seating but a few tables, also good dockside seating outside

This rustic building has an upper and lower deck with picnic table. The harbor views are nice from either. There is no service. You order and pay at the counter then carry your food to the table of your choice. This works fine if half the party secures a table and the others wait for the food. The food is typical sea food shanty fare and very good. The prices are the same as a full service place even a very nice one. Fresh sea food isn’t cheap so I would just as soon have a chair to sit in and a nice waitress to bring it while I relax with my companions. There are no umbrellas so the sun can be brutal.

I am sorry Clam Shack for giving you a 3-star review. You definitely deserve this five stars after our last meal. We visited here last week and it was crowded, but it is easy to find a table here. This is the one place on the Cape of 2015 that isn’t completely mobbed with tourists like us. This place gets the tourists, the regulars, and the beach dwellers, but it is a relaxing experience, not a touristy one. Prices remain the same each year, but I may have been misleading in my previous review by saying that prices were so high. If you are getting any roll or sandwich, each is about $ 15. Lobster rolls are $ 17, which is an excellent deal. We always order a clam chowder and theirs is yummy. Very creamy, with a bunch of clams. It was a very windy day when we went, so we had to keep caution when a gust of wind made its way towards us, which is my one complaint, but it isn’t the restaurant’s fault, it is Mother Nature’s. Just be aware and bring some heavyweight objects with you to keep down napkins, drinks, etc. The seagulls were cute. Their clam strips were not as greasy as last time, very light and crisp, with a perfect breading. Portion isn’t small either. You MUST get their lobster rolls. They are amazing! There is so much lobster inside of the piece of toast, it must have been a half pound or greater of lobster. It was rich, fresh and not too fishy, and not heavily dependent on mayo. Although the lobster roll may not fill you up, it definitely was one of the best meals I have had on the Cape this year.

Shack is the perfect description of this counter service stop by the sea. I can imagine if the weather was warm patrons would easily grow irritable waiting in line as the layout is not conducive for serving more than 20 people. We did have some fabulous scallops. Sweet, succulent and cooked to perfection. I must say I would return in a moment to have them again. Fried pickles were ok and not much to report. Cole slaw was vinegar based and lots of flavor. Always have to take away a star when a seafood location does not make their own tartar sauce or cocktail sauce. What? What? Little PC packets. The sauce is the finishing touch to your local flavor and is critical to being considered a contender in a four star review.

Having just arrived to the cape, we were all craving fried seafood. The Clam Shack was recommended to us, so we walked over. We ordered the fried clam, shrimp, and scallop plates. All came with fries and coleslaw. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly! I can’t really say I had a favorite, but if pushed, I would pick the clams over the others. The slaw was also light and crunchy, and not overly dressed with mayo, which was very nice. Be sure to eat upstairs on the deck so you can watch the boats come in. Also note: this place is cash only(at the time of this review).

Looking for some good fried clams? Then this is the place to go. They were fresh, clean, perfectly breaded, seasoned and fried. MMMMMMMmmmm.(They were even better than the Ipswich clams I just had at Durgin Park in Boston over the 4th of July. The green beans and onion rings were also tasty. Generous portions, Yes, it was pricy(but they price the clams at market value.) I would go back again when I am in the mood for some good fried clams.

Love the clam shack fried clam rolls! Love sitting on the picnic table taking a picture of the crisp heaping roll with boats in the back ground coming into Falmouth Harbor and making people jealous and posting on Facebook! But my favorite part is eating it!

Had a great meal. Very casual. Like sit on the picnic table outside casual. Great for a quick bite. Terrific whole clams with fries and a soda. We watched boats going in and out of Falmouth Harbor.

Wow. Maybe it was the view or the fisherman that let our kids on his boat but this place was awesome and helped us make a memory. Fried scallops were spot on the the green beans had the crunch that makes you finish the whole thing before your kids get one. Wife enjoyed the fish and chips because the breaking was not the usual beer batter fry. It had a crunch and taste if bread crumbs. While the Quahogs were not made onsite they are locally prepared and cooked to perfection. Cole slaw was vinegar based and not mayonnaise based which was a refreshing change of pace and tasted more like a crunchy salad. I loved it with the fried scallop roll and wondered why more fried clam and fish joints didn’t think about this change. Whole bellied clams looked delicious as did the lobster roll. I will find out later in the week. Thank you for a memorable experience. Great birthday gift.

Good fried belly clams, but for $ 23+ for a plate, and cash only? No thanks. I’d rather go to other places around Boston that sells such as fresh seafood options, with larger portions at a cheaper price. And hey, most places will accept cards.

Stopped in today for my last lobstah roll of the trip. Visiting from Seattle it’s tough to find a really good lobster roll outside of MA. Having not been to New England for a whopping 9 years, I was overdue and needed my fix. A few days ago we hit up a spot in Popponesset known for their lobster rolls and I was really disappointed. Still craving something before I headed back home, I mentioned to my folks that I’d love to try to get a good lobster roll for the road. My dad said he knew of a spot as we were headed to Mashpee via Falmouth. And that’s where the Clam Shack comes into play! And thanks Unilocal, because we found this place through the mobile app. If you’re looking for a place with white linens and real silverware — keep looking! The word«Shack» is very appropriate here as this spot is basically a large shack right on the water. When you walk in remember to bring cash(no credit cards accepted here!) and order up some clams, lobster rolls, burgers, etc. They’ve got something for everyone, even the picky non-seafood eaters can eat here. There are probably 5 tables inside that seat 4 – 5 people each. But there’s also a lower deck outside that easily seats 20 and then a deck on the roof of the shack that seats another 10 – 15. If the weather is nice don’t even bother eating in and go out to enjoy the fresh air and water views. Our food was ready in less than 10 mins and the lobster roll was exactly what I was looking for! Buttery, toasted bread, big chunks of lobster, and a perfect portion for $ 15 each. I also liked that the coleslaw was served chilled and made with oil/vinegar and not mayo. It was a nice change up since the lobster rolls are so creamy and mayo-y.

Clam Shack in Falmouth has been an institution down here for years. It’s right at the top of the Falmouth Harbor, in the middle of all the charter and fishing boats. The Patriot departs right there along with other trapper boats. They don’t try to be anything than what it is. A place to get some seafood and grilled eats. Don’t expect to walk in there and get a cheap seafood meal. It’s all market price and the fixed prices are reasonable. A clam roll is a perfect size. More times than not I don’t even eat the roll just eat the clams off it. The clams are perfectly fried and have a great coating. Not to much extra batter which is nice. At times they can be a little on the greasy side, but more times than not, they are just right. The fish n chip plate is huge. Tried that today and it was too much for 1 guy. The fish is fresh and fried perfectly. They have Kens packaged tartar sauce which is OK. Be nice if they made it homemade but who the f cares really? The rest of the menu has lobster rolls which I have yet to try, then burgers dogs(which would give a brighams grill a run for its money) etc. The sides are your above average fries and onion rings. Both of which are good and serve as a good compliment to your clam/fish dish. Parking can be a bitch. Only a hand full of spots and a few street spots further down. Some bastards just order and sit in their car and eat while there are tables there and people waiting during a busy rush. Or like the douche today who drove his huge SUV and blocked 3 spots. Hope he gets a flat or food poison. I like to order and grab a table outside on the dock or up on top. The seagulls there are vicious. They will swoop down and take what they can. Even a small child if you tease them. If your in the area and aren’t looking for anything fancy then be sure to stop in here. All the food is tasty and fresh. Can’t go wrong with the clams or fish. Be sure to grab a spot outside if it’s nice out. They will call your name when your order is ready to come grab it at the counter.
