Great eatery for comfort food and the ambiance is unique with the two patios outside provide great ambiance. I only had a grilled cheese sandwich with their homemade potato chips that were tasty. As a travel writer and blogger, I enjoyed a great six hours of work, and I will return. :-) Betty was my waitress, and she was efficient with happy great service.

Been in the area for 5 months and I drive by Amy’s on a regular basis. It only seemed logical to give it a shot… bad idea. The building was nice on the way inside. Inside, however, is a mess with no theme that I could discern. Service took a while and our waitress, though well-meaning, forgot about my wife and I after we asked for an extra minute to review the menu. My wife ordered the potato soup and sandwich. The soup was white in color so maybe Amy’s thinks that’s potato soup? A concerning amount of crunchy onions, terribly cooked potato, gross chunks of ham(???) no cheese, no bacon, and no cream. I don’t want to know how they got the broth-water to turn white. BLT was a joke. I got the chicken fingers and waffle. Luckily the chicken fingers are frozen and not homemade… they were your standard diner chicken fingers. Waffle was a waffle, cooked well, though. I’m giving the place two stars because the waitress did the right thing and took my wife’s «soup and sandwich» off the bill(unsolicited) and tried to make it better by giving her the broccoli and cheese soup. A very nice gesture but no better. On exiting the building the kitchen staff were smoking their cigs right on the side of the building where patrons park. Made me question what the kitchen looks like. I really hope this place gets it together because it could be great for locals. A real shame.

The food was mediocre at best. The meatloaf was crazy dry. The worst part was the horrible service. They weren’t busy at all, but the service was just miserable. The server just acted overall uninterested in the task at hand & apparently putting the proper drinks on the proper checks was just too overwhelming. I’d never go back.

Nothing special! The food was very basic. I had an open faced roast beef sandwich and they had not bothered to heat up the roast beef. The fries were just crinkle fries, like the ore Ida kind you buy at the grocery store. The burger was just ok. The food took a very long time and then after she gave us the check we sat waiting until my husband eventually took it inside to her. They up charge a dollar for sweet potato fries which is ok but there was only a small handful on the plate. If you expect good mom and pop food, don’t bother, there was just nothing special about it.

This place is around the corner from my house. I came in once for breakfast which I loved and once for lunch which I did not. The club sandwich was so plain, dry and had no avocado… I could’ve made that at home and saved $ 15.

Seriously??? I brought my family to this establishment last Sunday(April 17); huge mistake! Upon entering we stood at the reception area for over 15 minutes watching a totally confused staff continuously rush by without acknowledging our presence. Once greeted, we were directed to one of the numerous open tables(bussed and un-bussed)…as we took our seats the hostess casually brushed debris from the previous diners off the table onto the floor with her hand and simply smiled at us… I’m thinking yikes… what’s next. As for the meal, I ordered a medium rare cheeseburger… the burger arrived well-done with a spot of un-melted shredded cheese one would expect to find on a taco. My daughters meals were equally poorly prepared… example, one daughter’s grits’ consistency was that of wallpaper paste; tasteless; therefore, totally inedible. Yet the circus continued… a person emerges from the kitchen area to retrieve a 5 gallon bucket they use to discard old beverages and other consumer waste. We were treated to an extra viewing of this repugnant«sauce» as the person retrieving the bucket stop by our table to engage another employee. Needless to say at this point my fun meter was pegged and I asked for the check. Realizing that I was not happy our server tried to make it right by removing the charge for my overcooked burger… somehow I was hoping she had the power to remove the entire experience from my mind. I think I’m permanently scarred…

The first time we came here it was great… but this time it was not good. The table they sat us at was dirty and sticky. I ordered eggs Benidick the eggs were over done, the sauce was curdled the potatoes had an old oil flavor. My husband ordered the classic and his eggs were underdone. We both agreed the gravy was good though. We also agreed we won’t be back.

Amy’s Café is great. I went in to make reservations for my birthday and was amazed at how it felt so much like home. Amy made my reservation for 15 people. She was very nice and gracious. When we got there the tables were all set up and we were sitting next to a fire place. Our servers were Betty and Nicole. They both were very sweet and pleasant to us. They were most helpful to our needs. The food was awesome that was cooked by Kevin James, my son loved the cat fish so much he had a second plate. I’d recommend this place. The atmosphere was just right, everyone had a great time. I plan on going again. Amy thank you to you and your wonderful staff.

The atmosphere is friendly and spacious. The service is kind and quick. The food is well portioned and tasty. For me, this is a great local business but their menu is very standard ‘down home’ and over priced by about 1.50 per item.

Went with a huge group. Pre-ordered cold cut sandwich platters. What made the experience so remarkable was the service. Top notch.

It was like a Denny’s with higher prices, the staff would rather have been somewhere else, waited too long for salad, meatloaf dry, menu sticky. There is a reason it was mostly empty on a Saturday night…

Super disappointed. Asked several times if a product contained dairy and was told«no», after persisting they showed me the ingredients and the first one was low-fat milk. They comped our meal but it won’t stop me and my kids from getting sick.

I was highly underwhelmed with my experience here. My server didn’t smile once, which, i know isn’t a requirement, but it helps! We were greeted fairly promptly at the door and seated, unfortunately there weren’t any both seating available, I’m not even sure if they had any. We ordered the Falmouth sampler, where you can choose three of the following items: fried green tomatoes, French fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and spring rolls. We got the onion rings, cheese sticks and tomatoes: everything tasted like it was bought frozen and dropped in a deep fryer. I was very disappointed in the fried green tomatoes, the batter had no flavor and then was covered in salt and pepper. We also purchased the west coast burger to split, which had two patties, sautéed onions and American cheese with Jens«stupid good sauce». It’s Big Mac sauce. i hate thousand island. You could barely taste the sautéed onions on the burger, which was disappointing, but the thing that blew my mind was that i asked for salt on the fries for the burger, so you would think the server would mention«hey we cover the fried green tomatoes in salt, is that cool?» Our server never came to check on us, not until we were finished eating and had pushed our plates aside aside and sat for five minutes. We got such fantastic reviews and recommendations but i doubt I’d come back. There are so many other places within a mile or two that make everything from scratch that i would definitely prefer!

I like the extensive menu here. There seem to be many ‘home cooked’ type options. James & I stopped in for lunch on Sat just before our shopping extravaganza in beautiful Fredericksburg. I had the meat loaf which was vert tasty, a large portion with excellent mashed potatoes & mixed fresh veggies. James said his reuben was better than average. It was a nice sunny spring day and just right for sitting out on their patio.

Service: Fast, friendly, and relaxed. Atmosphere: Relaxed, cool esthetics, and cannot wait till I can go back and eat outside. Food: I have been for lunch and brunch. I really like that they have«southern cooking» options on their brunch menu. I got biscuits and gravy and they were amazing!!! For lunch I got a chicken ranch wrap and potato soup that came with home made chips, a corn muffin, and the best ranch ever. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning!
