Sadly the theme with Vocelli seems to be decent main dish pizza. A helping of subpar management/customer service with a side order of cold and lengthy delivery times. I keep trying other locations and get the same result. Going back to papa johns.

We have ordered delivery for a few years now. A friend who knew I am from NJ recommended I try the Neapolitan crust. It was really good way back when but seems to have deteriorated. The Vocelli rolls are great and the baked wings tasty. We recently received a coupon for a colosso and tried it. It is huge! But the crust is super thin so it gets cold quickly but you can fold it. Much more NJ-ish than the Neapolitan. Quite tasty! Unfortunately, they don’t seem to add more toppings to accommodate the larger crust so next time we will double the sauce and toppings. There is hope!

Wow! It’s a shame that this location has gone downhill. One would have thought that when calling to inform a manager of a problem with an order that it would at least bring a solution and that you’d be speaking with someone with some semblance of customer service skills. Thank goodness there are other locations.

The delivery time is pretty slow. Last time it was past the estimated hour by a few minutes, but the pizza has been good. The cheese bread wasn’t anything special, but we love their hawaiian pizza with bacon.

The pizza is good, average, but the Stromboli keeps me coming back. Large enough to spilt between two people, but I get my own because I don’t want to share. The Stromboli is heavy on the cheese and the tomato sauce is one of the best I have had from a pizza chain. I found the staff to be professional each visit and my orders have been correct so far.

I wish this place was better since it’s walking distance for me. Service is terrible and the pizza definitely isn’t up to par. This is no longer an option for us when we’re in the mood for pizza

I would give out less stars if I could. I ordered 3 large pizzas and breadsticks yesterday for an office lunch. I ordered it online and got my receipt and order number. An hour and 20 minutes later, still no pizza. I called them and they told me they ad NO record I ever ordered. I told them that could not be possible. I had the order number and the money was taken from my credit card. I had to reorder and told them that I would give the receipt instead of extra payment. So 2 hours and change after I originally ordered I get the food. Thanks delivery guy for dropping the breadsticks and splashing marinara all over them… really thanks. I needed more insult to injury. The DM or someone higher up returned my call with no real explanation other than they are working on a new platform and this is a hiccup. No offer of restitution. How about you remove my delivery charge bud?

My husband and I ordered two pizzas, garlic bread knots and an order of cannoli. When we got home we realized it wasn’t in the bag, so we called and talked to the same person who took our order, a very nice kid who apologized and said to come by in the next couple of days to pick them up. So we came by the next night and attempted to pick them up, but the kid wasn’t there, instead this older man was there and we explained that we were here to pick up part of our missing order and he was very rude, telling us he wouldn’t give us the cannoli without a receipt. At this point we weren’t going home to try and find a reciept for a $ 4 item and come for a third time. The pizza order was also screwed up(my husband got my regular crust with his toppings while I got his thin crust with my toppings), the thin crust wasn’t very good, the garlic knots were bland, so overall this experience was almost terrible since we didn’t starve to death, I mean we did get food.

I have been a customer of this take away spot for over four years. The service has certainly gone down hill. Today I went in for a medium thin crust meat magnifico. Only to be told they only have large. It’s noon on a Saturday. It all started with I would go in an ask for a small thin crust and was told only have medium. Now it’s only have large. I will not be visiting again. What a bad way to lose a customer. You need to cater to your customer not try to make me buy something I do not want or need.

Kinda surprised by the low ratings previously but appears the place is under new ownership. I was really impressed with the quality of the pizza here. Seem to be one Of the few places not«cutting corners» these days … Great saucy, cheesy pizza… Will definitely order again.

We have ordered from here for years. It is basically one of the only options where we live for pizza. It was the best of the bad options, but no longer. I called last night to place a delivery order. Seeing as this is a pizza delivery place, i would assume that it was a fairly easy task. The person who answered the phone was clearly new or confused by life. they asked 3 times if it was for pick up or delivery. When i gave my cell phone number, they asked if it was a business because they had linked my number to a different address in their system. I know that these things happen, but somehow it was my fault. I placed my order, and told them i had a coupon. A flyer had been delivered earlier in the week with coupons attached. i gave them the coupon code and was told that the offer was not available on Tuesdays. No where on the flyer or coupon was this limitation stated. I waited another 5 minutes on the phone while they fixed the price. I was told it would be a 35 minute wait for the delivery. An hour later the food had not been delivered. Once it was finally delivered the order was not complete. I was tired of calling and talking to them and just let it be. We will be looking for a new delivery place.

DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYORDERINGFROMHERE Ordered a pizza tonight and it was late and when it arrived and was freezing cold(we are only 5 minutes away). We tried to return it to the driver who told us to keep it and call the store. We called the store only to have an awful manager tell us we were in the wrong and refused to defuse the situation. We asked for a new pizza to be sent, they said it wasn’t an option, then we asked for our money to be returned and that wasn’t an option. All we needed was an apology. Never going back.

I may like their pizza and pasta but I’m placing only one star after experiencing bad service from them. Ordering food thru phone is not good, the person was rude to take orders especially after telling I have coupon for my order. The delivery service was worst, I received my order after calling them again and waiting for an hour to get here, considering my place is just 5 mins away. It good have been a nice pizza place if not only for their bad service.

I ordered from here after receiving a flyer in the mail. I ordered chicken Alfredo pasta and added meatballs and i wasn’t expecting it to be all that great because usually ordering pasta i have had bad experiences. The pasta was very good and inexpensive. I loved it so much i decided to write about it on Unilocal.would def order the pasta from here. Never tried pizza or any of the appetizers, just going to stick with the pasta.

Very rude Manager, Its sad that they do not know how to treat their customers with respect. The man does not know how to handle simple situations and or conflicts with his customers. If I was the owner I would be worried about losing customers due to such behaviors such as yelling, and hanging up on customers that only called to check a status of an order. Whats even worse is when stories are made up about bad weather, flooded streets, and no power when the customer literally lived behind the store. Seriously? Luckily Our area NEVER suffered non of the above claims this manager had the nerve to state, simply because they have no customer service skills. ** Their pizza might be delicious but I would rather have outstanding service than to continue ordering from here just because of good tasting pizza, I will take my money elsewhere… were it is appreciated.

The pizza is good, not great… But don’t order any of their appetizers– they aren’t good and several of them are deceiving. For example I ordered the cheese sticks thinking I was getting a mozzarella type plate– it was simply breadsticks with a bit if melted cheese. Their chicken tenders were soggy and cold(and only 4 for 6.99!). The boneless wings were the same soggy chicken tenders covered in hot sauce. The pizza we had ordered was cut up so oddly that some pieces were less than an inch thick while others were too big to fit on a large plate. We order from them because they’re close by– but the last few transactions were less than okay.

Used to love this pizza place. Would buy a couple pies a month. I don’t know what happened with the move a few feet away… but things changed. BADTHINGS. First visit at the new location it took 10 minutes for the gentlemen to run my credit card through. This is not an exaggeration. Customer service was terrible, no acknowledgement that I was there, then no goodbye after I patiently waited for them to run the card. I decided to give them another chance… afterall everyone has bad days. Second visit equally as bad, slow bad customer service. Again, I loved their pizza so I gave them the third(and final chance). I ordered a lunch special via phone and went in to pick it up. This time it took about 5 minutes for the CC to go through… an improvement! I then took my bag and noticed my order was wrong. I had ordered a half turkey club with a half salad. The food I got was a full steak sub. Again, this was all after the transaction went through. They offered to take it back, but at this point they had charged the wrong amount and I was not willing to wait an additional time. The order was verified back to me over the phone when I placed the order, so I don’t know where the mistake could have happened. As I walked out a fellow customer told me how there had been a yelling match between the employees right before I walked in and customers were just walking out in disgust. Sad to say this Vocellis location will not be getting any more of my business. I will much rather drive to a location that is further away in order to get better customer service.

Having just terminated several slices of Vocelli pizza, I have to say: I’LLBEBACK. I’ve driven by this place easily a hundred times crisscrossing this section of town. Needing to hit the bank nearby and put go juice in the car, I decided today was the day to once again tempt fate and broaden my pizza horizons. Its a nice day when you can be pleasantly surprised, particularly by chain pizza. A quick survey of the menu and consultation with the guy behind the counter, I settled upon Vocelli’s Neapolitan crust with mushrooms and onions for toppings. CRUST — As a Neapolitan purist, well this isn’t quite traditional«neapolitan» but it is soft and bubbly, with just the right balance of crispy and chewy. Most importantly the crust has a nice flavor, both when piping hot and when cold. SAUCE — Perfect amount for the size of the pie with a touch of sweetness to it. Sauce was a decent supporting cast member when the pie was hot, but when cold nicely steps up to the plate to deliver a good tomato flavor. TOPPINGS&CHEESE — Cheese was nothing special, but that’s ok. Unless I’m getting fresh mozzarella, I don’t really want my cheese standing above everything else on the pie. I also don’t like it when there is so much that it has an oil slick on top or becomes a solid block as the pizza cools. No, this cheese was just right and perfectly complimented the mushrooms and onions. As for those toppings — fresh and plentifully spread over the entire pizza. Particularly appreciate the use of fresh mushrooms over canned. SERVICE — The guy behind the counter was nice and easily articulated the difference between Vocelli’s crusts for me. My order was correctly filled. It’s takeout. There’s not much else I expect from service other than that. They weren’t busy when I dropped by and I was told it would be about 10 minutes. Enough time for me to drop into Manila Oriental and the Pawn shop in the same strip, but venturing to the Toys-R-Us across the street might have been too far a sojourn. NOTATIONS — The Neapolitan crust is only available as a 16″ pie. With 2 toppings, it will set you back $ 18.89. It was a very enjoyable pizza so I think that is probably a fair price and I now have lunch for tomorrow(good thing its tasty hot and cold). One of my ultimate tests for pizza is aroma and how difficult it is to make it home with the car filling with all that smelly goodness. I have to say it was hard to resist the temptation to snag a slice on the drive home so big check-mark there.(Extra points awarded if it still smells like pizza when I get in it tomorrow.) Side note — My visit to Vocelli today I think reflects all that is good about Unilocal.I would probably have never stopped at a Vocelli’s location had it not been for the praising words of the likes of Tina R. and so many other Unilocalers who have taken a moment to put down their experiences.
