Update: I finally got a hold of the owner Joni with the help of the Back Door’s Charlie. She gave me all my stuff and took care of me. She has rectified the problem. They are closing the shop down and will be doing a much smaller volume of work. The work was great, the chairs and cushions look amazing, it just took a long time to get my stuff and I was getting worried about it for a while, but in the end it ended up being OK.

bough a beautiful desk from this location for a steal. Same thing at a high end furniture or home store such as pier 1 would be five times the price. It was a lovely refurbished desk. I also bought a one of a kind chair from them. The desk didn’t fit in my car and they were very nice to deliver it. love my new desk its fabulous.

I am in the same boat as Xavier S. I have had a piece of furniture there for over a month. I did not expect it to be completed quickly, but started checking in a couple weeks ago to see what was going on with it. After multiple emails and phone messages, still not a word from them. I am worried I will not get back my very expensive piece of furniture.

I LOVE this place! So darling and full of unexpected gems. The owner, Joni, is so friendly and willing to help. She has restored all these unique pieces and they are painted beautifully. If you are looking for well priced, charming and unique furniture, The Front Porch is the place for you.

I want to like this place. But. I checked their website, which advertised an «Anniversary Sale» May 9 – 11, with 20% off furniture and other items. Sunday May 11 was Mother’s Day. But I figured they knew that. I’m 1000 miles from my mom, and I don’t have kids of my own. My fiancé and I just bought a 5BR house. Needless to say, we’re in need of some furniture. I left my home in Alexandria and drove to this Falls Church location. It looked empty. Sure enough. The darn place was closed. Major fail, and major waste of time.

Front Porch Furniture Rescue is run by husband and wife team Joni and Dave who are super sweet and helpful. I took the Furniture Painting class with Joni and found her to be very experienced and thorough in sharing her knowledge. I’ve been collecting vintage furniture pieces with high hopes of giving them a modern chic flare using chalk paint, and thanks to this class I finally feel like I have the basic know-how and hands-on experience to begin experimenting. I’m also super excited to be introduced to the line of Van Gogh chalk paint, which has a really beautiful range of colors that include FUCHSIA and BLACK! Other than the store and paint class, Joni and Dave also specialize in an array of furniture rescue services from upholstering, caning, to complicated repair work. I’m happy to know that for furniture projects too big/time consuming for myself to handle, I can always go back to Front Porch Furniture for friendly and expert service!

After my Ikea dresser literally fell apart at it’s last seam I said enough was enough and started looking for a new dresser. I found a piece from the Front Porch Furniture Rescue on craigslist and swung by their brick and mortar location to take a look at it. Front Porch is set in a charming old house and is filled with all sorts of cute things — paintings, textiles, mirrors, and of course furniture for sale. They also have a shop on etsy if you wanted to take a look at some of their pieces before going there. The business is family run and operated and they’re all super nice! The father and son delivered my dresser and they couldn’t have been more helpful. My dresser itself was beautifully restored and I’m sure I will love it for many years to come! The furniture there is restored with eco-friendly paints and beeswax. They also have painting classes, furniture repair and consignment available if you want to sell your own furniture. Apparently they’ll be opening a new location soon so worth checking out that too. Highly recommended to get your non-Ikea furniture fix.
