This was the last stop on my tour of the Subway shops near my place of business in Falls Church. Like all that I’ve been to this one appears to be owned and operated by foreign nationals… maybe citizens… probably not. In this case Middle Eastern individuals that unlike employees at most others speak and understand English. Much like the other stores there appears to be no standard in the construction of the sandwiches. I’ve ordered 6 inch Roast Beef in the five shops I’ve visited, this one at least had reasonably fresh bread, but the guy only put three thin pieces of Roast Beef on the roll. Another store told me that four is the company standard for a 6″ sub. That these shops are«standardized» is a flawed notion. Subway Corporate would not tell me what the«standard» is or if there is one. No two stores of five I’ve visited seem to follow any sort of guidelines. So for $ 7.53 the customer gets a hastily constructed 6″ sandwich, a medium drink and a small bag of chips. Relatively new in the area, JimmyJohns will deliver to my office a substantial 8″ Roast Beef Sub, a bag of chips and a drink for $ 6.67…with a 20% tip $ 8.00. Better food, better service.

Eaten here 3 times in the past 3 months and every time it’s been the best Subway I’ve ever visited. I travel a lot for work and have eaten at Subways all over the Southeast and West. These places are a great way to get fresh«fast» food at a decent price, but this one was a cut above. The place was spotless, the bread was fresh, and the condiments and veggies were really good. I’m new to Unilocal, and normally wouldn’t rate fast food, but these guys deserve a shout out.

On 9÷17÷2013−− Before ordering I went to wash my hands. The paper towel dispenser fell off the wall into my arms and a live cockroach fell out. I did a silent scream of horror, and immediately left!

This is one of the better Subways that I’ve been too, and I have to say that it’s nice to see a clean Subway for a change. Ordered a 6″ Meatball Sub at the $ 3.00 price that is going on right now, and it was very good. I was able to get it fast because it was before the lunch crowd comes in there, and it can be crazy in there, but they still are able to get their food out in a timely manner. Will be coming here again in the near future to try a different Sub just to see if it as good as the one I got yesterday. Will update on this location in the near future. Enjoy!

I think the idea of reviewing chain restaurants is kind of odd… they’re so standardized(usually) that you are basically commenting on how you like mass-produced food. This particular subway is nicely maintained, and it’s usually clean, and the employees are pretty prompt… so I was tempted to rate this place 3 stars… but then I ‘moused over’ the third star and it says ‘A-OK’. I just can’t go that far. I typically get the grilled chicken, or the buffalo chicken sub… something that goes into the TurboChef. The problem with subway is that they put all of their meats into those little paper ‘boats’, they turn them upside down onto the bread, and then shove the sandwich in the ‘oven’. Well, all that cold congealed meat is still stuck together and cold in the middle. The TurboChef just doesn’t get the job done. In short, the sandwiches are cold in the middle. Talk about disgusting. Subway needs to do a better job to either keep hot meats hot(like they do for the meatballs), or they need to teach their employees how to ‘un-congeal’ the meats before attempting to ‘toast’ a sub. I’m just about done with Subway.
