I actually really enjoy the food from here. I’ve been to Eden center many of times so I know my way around some. Though I had never been in here before I knew what I was looking for. I feel like I could tell the staff was talking about me in front of my face because I’m white and look hopeless. But I swear I knew what I was doing. But I did buy 10 pork buns! Which have lasted me awhile because I froze half. Besides feeling judged I do enjoy the food.

This place use fresh fruits for the smoothies! They make the best Duran smoothie. My husband loves it! I like their fresh sugar cane juice. What’s nice is that you can see them make it! But make sure to request less ice in your juice or else they do put a lot of ice.

I am OBSESSED with bubble tea. Actually tea in general, and I consider the tapioca pearls an added bonus :-). This is the second of many reviews I am writing on bubble tea in the DMV, as I am making it my mission to give those jonesing for a solid boba/bubble tea in the area, a guide to use. A guide based on my experiences, anyway. I’ve had bubble tea domestically and internationally, as well as the fact that I make it on a regular basis at home. My rating is based on both types of tea I try, the boba/bubble consistency, the quality compared to the BEST I’ve ever had, and the quality compared to the average level of quality for the DMV. Of note: I will not write a review until I’ve tried ATLEAST one tea based and one fruit based/flavored drink. I’ve been going to Phuoc Loc on for YEARS! It’s one of my go-to bubble tea shops in Eden Center… as long as I can get there earlier in the day and on a weekend. The biggest issue I have with Phuoc Loc is quality control. I’ve gotten drinks there that were on point! And I’ve gotten drinks there that I’ve thrown out :-( When I go, I usually get a Thai Tea bubble tea, or Mango or Pineapple Bubble Tea. Their teas(all but the green tea, but I haven’t tried it so I’m not sure if it is green tea flavored powder or matcha) are made of tea and not powder. They use this brand of fruit purée for their fruit bubble teas: Tea Zone Regarding their fruit smoothies which use Tea Zone fruit syrup, their mango and pineapple have a ‘hairy’ texture. I understand that pineapple and mango can be ‘hairy’ fruits, but I’ve had other fruit smoothies(including my own) where the ‘hairy’ texture did not transfer to the drink. If you have had pineapple or mango fresh, I’m sure you know what I mean. What I’m getting at, is expect to get flecks of ‘hairy’ fruit pieces on your tongue if you order these two flavors(especially if the bottle is almost done and you are getting the last of the syrup in the container). Also, Tea Zone fruit syrups have food coloring among other additives in them so they are not all that natural, even though the flavor is pretty real tasting. Of note, they do have a lot of flavors that cater to the Asian palette(avocado, durian, soursop, etc.), and most of those appear to be made from the real thing. They have a milk tea that is very popular that is Vietnamese style(Vietnamese tea is used and it is STRONG!). They usually run out of the milk tea very early in the day though. The Thai Tea is good but can be watered down on some days. The bubbles are usually perfect! Not too chewy or soft. Unfortunately, if you come at the end of the day(usually on a weekday) or they’ve had a slow day/weekend, you get old, mushy bubbles. Generally, on a busy weekend day and earlier in the day, you have a better chance of having a good drink with great bubbles! I’ve been around the entire Eden Center loop, tasting teas and bubbles from all shops that serve it. Some shops don’t stay open long, some have become permanent fixtures. Despite the QC issues, Phuoc Loc is definitely a fixture at Eden Center and remains one of my two, go-to places for bubble tea in Eden Center. Bambu/Pandan has become my other go-to bubble tea shop once they started offering bubbles as an option for their teas(review to come!). Song Que was my previous go-to bubble tea shop but has closed and is now replaced with Song Long which is NOT the same(Song Que was starting to have QC issues as well, so Bambu/Pandan was moving up my list anyway). 1 star for good bubbles(on a good day) 1 star for good milk tea(on a good day) 1 star for good fruit smoothie(even with ‘hairy’ fruit pieces in some flavors) 1 star for being average for the area BUT, minus 1 star for quality control issues. If I pay close to $ 5 for a drink that I may end up throwing out depending on the day, I think that deserves one less star.

I also thought that with so many bakeries and smoothie options in one location that they’d all be fairly similar in quality. I was wrong, I agree with the other reviewers here in that this is one of the best bakeries at Eden Center. Even though they offer similar items as the shops next door, they are fresher and their items are higher quality. Friendly service always makes me smile, too.

For many years this place has satisfied my Vietnamese snack cravings. From egg rolls to xa xiu buns; they have remained consistent in providing many tasty treats. The food is always better early in the day and that’s the same for any bakery in Eden. If you’re complaining that the egg roll tastes old and you’re buying it at 7pm at night then you lack any common knowledge of how Eden works. Most places here are old fashioned, home recipes, and first come best served. My favorite snack to get here is the banh bot loc(shrimp dumpling in a chewy, clear tapioca wrapping). I hope Phuoc Loc bakery stays open for many more years to come! :)

Their pastries are always freshly baked! Among a variety of delicious selections, make sure you also get the barbecue pork buns & raisin rolls. Avocado shakes is so rich & smooth that I must have it at least once a week.

Shoutout to Phuoc Loc for providing taro smoothies actually made from taro, not taro tea powder. Thank you, thank you, thank you. That flavor and chunkiness is just wonderful. Customer service is still pretty awesome, too. Not my top pick for sticky rice – Thanh Son still produces the best – but Phuoc Loc is an all-around good bakery for to-go Vietnamese and Chinese foods.

I got the vegetarian Banh bao and the chicken pastry… the chicken was pretty good. It almost reminded me of some savory pastries I used to love back in England. The white fluffy veggie bun was very very soft, but I felt like I was swallowing a whole lot of bun before getting to the filling. Is that a good thing? No idea. Let me know!

Came here for the drinks! It was definitely a very small and narrow bakery and deli… also a way to get inside the mall to get to the other shops. We ordered a pineapple-mango smoothie with tapioca pearls and a strawberry-pineapple smoothie with tapicoca pearls. The lady notified me that where wasnt enough pineapple for the strawberry smoothie but offered to replace the pineapple with mango and asked me if that was okay. I agreed. They made the smoothies and were not cheap on tapioca pearls like other places. And they sealed them like on the west coast! Each was about 4.00. Delicious fruity and love then chewy pearls. The bonus was that they made an little extra of the strawberry mango smoothie and gave us a small cup for our toddler. Very generous and thoughtful! :) It’s not bubble tea/boba but it had pearls and was yummy!

Egg rolls were cold and bland. It just tasted like fried dough, you couldn’t taste any of the filling inside. I wouldn’t buy it again. The bread was reasonably price and pretty good. I had the dried pork bun and it was tasty. They also sell fruit(boxes of mangos and bananas). Super random, but it was the same price as getting them at the nearby market.

Yummy thai iced tea and iced coffee with tapioca bubbles — not too sweet and comes in a sizable cup($ 3.50 each)! Friendly, quick service :) Recommend!

After my usual fill of Phở at Hai Duong(my favorite Phở haunt) around the corner in the Eden Center west, I stopped in the bakery to comparison shop with other spots I frequent at Eden Center. This bakery has a long, narrow layout, where a glass-protected counter houses trays of sweets, sticky rices, sesame balls, and pâté chaud. There are also a number of packaged, prepared items for sale including jelly deserts, cured meats, buns and cakes. I picked up a selection of items including(1) sesame balls,(2) taro cake,(3) stuffed dumpling buns(Banh Bao) and(4) pâté chaud(meat pie). These items often serve as breakfast food for me during the week. Since this place is small it was very easy to have a discussion with the staff at the counter about what each item was. They advised me against getting a desert with jelly around cooked yellow bean because it doesn’t last more than a day on the kitchen counter(and I had wanted to keep it for three days). They gave me descriptions of items. This was very helpful to me as I don’t speak Vietnamese yet would like to try different and unfamiliar items. In general, the taste of the goodies I brought home was fantastic: The Taro Cake is perfectly not-too-sweet. The crust of the Pâté Chaud, a meat pie is terrific. The pork-based filling, delicious. I shared with a friend. Sesame balls, always a hit with me Bahn Bao: sweet fluffy bread baked around delicious filling(both vegetarian and not) I felt like the shop had pleasant staff(especially the nice young man behind the counter who spoke English). In this«little Vietnam» it always feels good to have a little translation services to make you feel comfortable that you are understand the food and culture. Updated report on bubble teas: Excellent avocado and coffee smoothie bubble teas. Good size, fresh fruit preparation, customizable with less sugar. Good deal. Way to go Phuc Loc.

I’ve been wanting to try out Phuoc Loc Bakery for a while, as I’ve heard a lot about their fresh smoothies. This is located in the Saigon West building(where they also have a plethora of other eateries), the small bakery offers baked goods(steamed buns, breads, fried doughnuts, cakes, and pan-fried tofu), as well as fruit/bubble tea/coffee/juice beverages(Lychee, Mungbean, Pineapple, Honey Dew, Jackfruit, Sousop, Mungbean & Penny Leaf, Durian, Taro, etc.). I only ordered their Taro and the Lychee, both smoothie-style(requesting only little tapioca balls) — the Taro was very grainy and more watered down(I believe there was too much ice); I wasn’t a fan of their version. The Lychee was definitely better of the two, as it had more of the lychee juice, making it more sweeter and an icee, rather than a ‘smoothie.’ The tapioca balls were not fresh, but frozen, and a little too goopy for my taste: P Just be aware that there are two lines by the cashier — those who want to order the desserts, and the other line that wants to order just the beverages. The staff here are very friendly and cute, but I believe I will stick to my boba drinks over at Bambu! +smoothies(more ice-concentrated than fruit) +Lychee ‘smoothie’ is pretty okay +2 lines(one for baked goods, the other one for beverages) +located inside Saigon West

ALL kinds of goodies in store for you! Sweet sticky rice, sponge cakes, boba drinks, smoothies, Vietnamese coffee, pastries, buns, jellies, breads, the list goes on and on and on!!! Phuoc Loc Bakery is located in Eden Center in Falls Church amongst a slew of Asian restaurants(mainly Vietnamese), shops and stores. I have had a few items there so far. The sticky rice I like but the boba drink was not as good. I specifically ordered the Thai Tea boba drink. Thai Tea itself a bit watered down taste and boba came out HARD! The other half had a smoothie and she liked that one much better. They have a $ 10 minimum policy if you are using credit cards. My order came out to $ 9.87 and they refused to take my credit card haha… I barely had enough to pay them cash! I was actually short a few cents but it looked like they prefer that so they took it! =P From my observations, everything they sell look to be of good quality and I would come back and try other snacks. I wouldn’t do any boba drinks again though(at least ask them to NOT include the boba and perhaps do jellies instead!).

This is, hands down, the best bubble tea joint and bakery in the Eden Center. I know those are big damn words for the Eden Center, but hear me out: Phuoc Loc is a small bakery in the corner of the Eden Center. For all intents and purposes, it’s yet another Vietnamese ostensibly-family-run place serving Vietnamese baked goods, sandwiches, tofu, and bubble tea. And it is all AWESOME. Hands-down. Better than all the other places in the Eden Center — trust me, I know, I tried them all. The Thai tea bubble tea sold here is basically an orgasm in a cup. Everything else is equally awesome. Phuoc Loc also sells a noodles-and-fish dish in a small Styrofoam container that is pure awesomeness, especially for brunch. Their pandan roll(a light, airy sort of baked roll with cream in the middle) is probably the best baked good in the Eden Center. While I would recommend every single thing in this store without hesitation, one cannot go wrong with a Thai tea bubble tea and a pandan roll to share. And, to top it all off, the people working here are NICE — they recognize us and even know our typical order. That’s just awesome.

Best vietnamese iced coffee ever — you can get it with bubbles, jelly, or neither. I like it with the jelly — their coffee isn’t too sweet and isn’t too bitter. It’s the perfect pick me up! I love that their drinks are bigger yet still priced at only $ 3.50 each. They use fresh fruit too and their strawberry & mango bubble tea is so good on a hot summer day. Their banh cam(sesame balls) were still warm and so good! Brought me back to my childhood! Service is so friendly and fast but get there early if you want fresh vietnamese snacks because they sell out quickly. I have yet to try their tofu and fried banana but it is definitely on my list!

Go-to bubble tea place at Eden! They come in bigger cups for the same prices as Song Que or Thanh Son. Love the coconut, lychee, thai iced tea and strawberry flavors and I like getting them with jelly not boba. Prices are $ 3.50 for one but they come in larger cups. The bakery items are also delicious. My favorite are the fried bananas, not necessarily plantains but just deep fried bananas called chuoi chien. Ask for them! The one thing I hate hate hate about this place is how small it is. Like if there’s more than 10 people, your stuck! It’s extremely narrow and luckily, I’m not THAT fat because I would not be able to squeeze through people to get out the door. If your claustrophobic, you might not want to even look in here. But please come for the bubble tea, everything is squeezed right in front of you, nothing is powered, they use real fruits and all the ingredients are fresh!

I love the smoothies here. End of story. The smoothies here and bigger and the prices are similar to anywhere in eden. The best bang for your buck. I had a green tea smoothie which is similar to the green tea frap at starbucks, but 10x better and way cheaper. SODELICIOUS. I also had pineapple, awesomeee! They use real fruit here and you can definitely taste the difference I am so happy my coworker recommended this place to me. :))
