Walk in, seat yourself, order crispy spring rolls and phở tai. You will not be disappointed. This place is down the street from me, and has become my roommate’s and my go-to phở spot, even with Eden Center close by. The food comes out insanely fast and parking is easy. It’s definitely no-frills, but aren’t all the best phở places? Cash only for $ 10 and under.

As far as phở goes, this is pretty darn good stuff. There’s no flare to the place, just good food in a working class shopping center. Just walk in and take a seat — there are no formalities here. I had the #1 Phở Dac Biet — eye round steak, flank, fat brisket, soft tendon, and bible tripe. It was all very good, the noodles had a nice texture, and the broth was quite flavorful. A squirt of fresh lime also added a nice subtle flavor. All that was quite good, but the tea was rather weak — couldn’t really taste anything but water. While there’s nothing really wrong with the atmosphere, there’s nothing to it — mostly just white walls, tables, and chairs. I suppose an upside is that it’s cheap. There’s plenty of parking so you should be able to find a space. I go here for lunch ever once in a while, and it’s definitely worth trying if your in the area.

The phở beef broth was excellent, but the round eye was a little tough and not very plentiful for a large dish. However, the peanut sauce for their summer rolls is the best I’ve had in NOVA and so was their chili sauce. The chili sauce is a homemade diced chilies in the squeeze bottle and is just superb. The atmosphere is just okay for a phở place in a strip mall. Service was friendly and helpful.

This is my go to place for Phở. If you want good Phở and fresh ingredients then check this place out. They are generous with their portions in general, always get a good chunk of meat in whatever you order. I usually go for a Large number 4 since my American tastebuds tell me this is the most loaded one with meat. The side dish comes loaded with fresh leaves, fresh jalapenos, and bean sprouts to through in to your Phở bowl. They give you more here than at any other place in NOVA that I have seen. Once you place your order they are super fast… your Phở usually comes out in like 3 – 4 minutes. The place is clean and the bussers are good about cleaning the tables and utensils. Even though this place is located in a ghetto strip mall don’t let that persuade you to not visit. The servers are usually around and can signal to them if you need anything, but they usually leave you alone once the drop off your order. I’ve also had the Shrimp summers rolls and they are good too. Freshly wrapped and a good amount of shrimp and ingredients in the roll.

This place was one of the go to places back in the days. They had a change of ownership about 8 years ago and went down a grade or two. So I stopped going, but I had a chance to stop by couple of days ago and I was pleasantly surprised. The style is different from the 10 years ago, but I liked the new style. Will be stopping by more often from now on.

With the lovely winter weather we had in DC, having a hot bowl of phở(fuh, not foe) was simply the easiest and quickest way to beat the winter blues. this place is no frills, but you can get a delicious, steaming bowl of phở in 5 minutes. It’s got good flavor and while maybe slightly ‘richer’ than other places, satisfying. I’ve gotten the crispy spring rolls too, and not the best to write about, but not overly greasy, which is always a concern.

I used to go to this place when I was in high school as it was just down the road. I don’t remember it being any good, but when you don’t have a car, you go to the nearest place you can walk to. I came home to visit my Dad for Lunar New Year and before I left the next day, we decided to go for a quick phở run. Our go-to place is Phở 75, but it was closed for the weekend due to the holiday. So we ended up here. I was sort of wary since I didn’t have any fond memories of the place, but I was pleasantly surprised. For us, the broth was very tasty. But this is very subjective. For myself, it was ever so slightly bland, so I put in a bit of fish sauce and all was good. The veggies were fresh and the meat was good. No one had any complaints. I also ordered a Che Ba Mau to go and it ended being much better than I expected. The mung bean was just okay, but the red bean portion was delicious. Definitely made the dessert that much tastier. If I’m ever in the area, I’ll definitely come back to see if the food is consistent. Perhaps there’s a new owner(from the time I was in high school, which has been almost 10 years) and a new chef as well. For now though, I’m recommending this place.

Love the crispy rolls and phở chin. Their service is always great, and they remember us when we come in to eat. My only complaint is that they are 15 miles away from where I live. Nevertheless, we still make the trek 3 or 4 times a month.

There was literally NO parking in all of Eden Center and Phở was definitely on the menu. So I drove down the block and found this spot on Unilocal. They seem to have a following and are so busy they have numbers and menus on all of their tables. I quickly placed my order and I had my meal in no time. However, that is where the good parts ended. My broth was exceptionally salty… so much so that I I couldn’t really put plum sauce in my broth because my blood sugar would have skyrocketed! I also noticed that the bean sprouts smelled a tad weird to me… I should’ve followed my instincts because I added a ton of them like I normally do and my tummy started to turn as soon as I tasted them :(So much so that I immediately felt the need to vomit. Needless to say, I quickly paid and only made it to my car door before my meal quickly reappeared :( What a bummer because it seems this location has some Unilocal friends. Sorry guys, I won’t be back!

You really can’t go wrong with this place. If I’m in the area I always try and stop. The place isn’t the most fanciest of places, but it definitely gets their phở right. The large #1 combo is they way to go. Their broth is probably the darkest I’ve seen, but it’s full of flavor. This is my favorite phở house in the area. The parking lot can be a mess, but you will find something. The people working here have always been attentive when I’ve been there. Just to show how much i like this place. I went their early. Got a large #1 then, when I was done, met my family next door for some Peking duck:)

I thoroughly admit that I can be a bit of a phở snob. This is consistently my favorite place for phở though. I don’t know how quite to describe it but it smells right. It is also not greasy, the summer rolls don’t come to the table warm, and hey they know me there! The service is not terrific and may be a bit of a challenge for those who are not familiar with Vietnamese food, but for me phở is usually fast food and I am usually out within 30 minutes.

I absolutely love Phở Tay Ho! I moved in down the street and was looking for good, cheap dinner with a friend when we wandered in. The food is delicious, the staff is great, and the portions are super generous. I’m a new regular :)

5 star for the most flavorful phở broth ever! Since hubby doesn’t have his own Unilocal account, I am writing this review on his behalf. What we like about this place is the huge portions and quick service. Their small bowl is equivalent to x-large in other phở restaurants we’ve tried. The meat and veggies are always fresh. Let them know if you prefer to have your meat on the side, or want some extra fixings. We’ve been going to this place for 4 years and we were never disappointed. Consistent great flavor, fast service, and great value.

The phở is just ok. I think the broth needs more flavor. Props to their tendon — it was softer the way I like it. The tai(raw meat) is good too although they could give you a little bit more. The décor is basic long tables and reminds me of my youth. Also living out of NOVA for the past few years and in Richmond more recently I was shocked at the higher price of a bowl of phở. I guess this may be the norm these days? Fast service and the extra fixings seemed pretty fresh. Two of us thought the phở needed more flavor, and two seemed to like it just fine.

By far THE best phở chin and fatty brisket I’ve ever had. I’ve been pulled in by a friend and I’ve pulled others into trying this place and they’ve all agreed. The broth is full of flavor and the meats here are the best in the area. No mystery meat here. If you just want a great bowl of phở without the art deco, pop music and other Americanized crap, go here. I feel like most of the negative reviews here are about service or other things that don’t relate to the food itself. I wish more people would just«get» Asian cultures… seat yo’ damn self! It’s not rude it’s just the way we are :)

This is my usual phở joint. The phở here is well prepared and so are their rice dishes. Their spring rolls and garden rolls are always on point. For the 7 years I’ve been visiting this place, the service was always mediocre. I didn’t mind because I go for the phở. I’m not sure if the management changed recently, but the last time I went, things have really improved. The service is better and the food looks more fresh.

Great neighbourhood place. Food is always terrific. Soup is authentic and consistent. Owners always very friendly and grateful for your business. Wait staff never muck around — food served almost instantly and piping hot. We — kids included — love this spot and always enjoy ourselves. Excellent value. Should you try it? Without a doubt. I’m a customer for 10 years and have never had any occasion to complain. I hope you enjoy it too. I haven’t found it dirty ever and bathroom décor isn’t an interest. These hole in the walls never have great bathrooms. Clean enough for me not to worry about my kids using the facilities. No complaints on cleanliness. Compare to Phở 75 in Arlington. Both Excellent — Phở Tay Ho accepts — cash and cards. Phở 75 only cash.

This place sucks. I asked for the meat on the side, so that I can control how much it gets cooked. They put it in the broth, so I ended up with tough, chewy meat. I spent the entire time swatting flies away from my food, along with people at other tables doing the same. I can’t say that I’d ever eat there again.
