I’m a novice guitarist but they really don’t sound like they know what they are talking about. Setup’s don’t do anything for the guitar? What? I came into the store looking for advice on strings for beginners that would work well on my guitar but would not need me to do a guitar setup (I already had the action adjusted for the current strings).
They seemed to have no concept of selecting string gauges based on my specific guitar, and different reps suggested entirely different strings. In the end, I settled on a set of strings only to come home and realize they sold me a pack of strings meant for a 12-​STRING GUITAR! THEY SAW WITH THEIR OWN EYES I HAVE A 6 STRING GUITAR! !
Oh and did I mention they kept me waiting in line for 10 minutes on one person and then 5 on another who walked into the shop AND WASN’T IN LINE? I’ll be returning the strings and everything else I bought there. Won’t be returning again. This place is worth it maybe if you already know exactly what you want.

The staff here could not be more helpful. I am a private piano teacher and have been coming here for years. They not only give a nice teacher discount, but are more than willing to order any books/​music that they may not have in stock.
I recently took possession of a banjo and had no idea of its worth or quality. Shirl, the manager, took a tremendous amount of time to research it for me (something I could have done on my own but he was kind enough to take the time)…this was right after I came in from the local Guitar Center where they didn’t even bother to really look at it closely. They are also willing to meet any competitor’s prices on the instruments.

Both my children take lessons here and both instructors have done well with them. It is also conveniently located next door to Trader Joe’s and Best Buy, so while they’re in lessons I can shop. The prices are reasonable, both purchase and rental and the staff is very helpful. They even put a couple strings in my guitar at no charge. They seem to hire nice, laid back musicians to work the store, so they’re actually helpful when I have a music or instrument-​related question. Parking can be an issue, but i’ve never not been able to find a spot somewhere in the lot.

They offer music lessons at this store in addition to selling instruments, etc. I wouldn’t recommend taking lessons here. They messed up my schedule, and my instructor just wasn’t very good. I ended up stopping lessons after a couple months. Also, the parking lot of the shopping center this store is in seems to be jam-​packed all the time. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
