We tried Kabob Express this week for take out dinner. We ordered the chicken kabob dinner and the mixed kabob dinner. The chicken was very nicely marinated and cooked but the«dinner» was an overwhelming amount of rice and a tiny corner of salad with some sort of dressing. I had asked for hummus but didn’t get it. The mixed grill meat was also seasoned well but again there was way too much rice and a tiny salad. The meals came with soup, lentil. It was bland and the lentils were overcooked to mush. For $ 32 take out we won’t go back.

Place used to be good when it first opened. Went recently, only thing good was the rice, everything else was wack.

Stopped in Kabob Express after leaving the Guitar Center a few doors down. Didnt occur to me that it was Ramadan, but explained in part the lack of guests during the day light hours :-) Was introduced to halal food awhile back by a former assoc and been loving lamb kabob’s ever since. Asked the young man at the counter about the empty buffet warmers, he described how his family 10 days ago signed the lease to bring authentic Persian halal food back to 7 corners as they have been purveyors in doing so in Tennessee for over 15 years, and they will offer buffet’s in the future. Asked him how was the lamb today, he simply replied«very fresh». Fresh indeed! Was the simply the best Lamb Kabob I have had and I have had quite a few since being introduced to halal food. Was fresh, tender, perfectly seared brown and not chewy, on a bed of hasmatti rice of good texture, the flat bread was homemade, warm and fresh. The chick peas were a bit tomato’ee, but good. The cook as it turns out was this young mans dad who courteously asked how the food was as I was leaving and shared how he and his family have thoroughly cleaned up the place and wanted to establish the restaurant in quality, cleanliness and authenticity and change the reputation of the place for the good of the whole mall. Knocked it out of the park! Will definitely go back.

I decided to try this place because the owner contacted me via Unilocal to inform me that a new Persian restaurant had opened up in Falls Church, after reading my complaints about the lack of real Persian(not arabic, hallal, latin/persian fusion). I figured why not, I’ll give them a try. They are obviosuly just opening up. The soda machine is out of order and they had a limited selection of soda’s in the cooler. The buffet warmers were also empty. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. They gave a tiny bowl of lentil soup, a small cup of yougurt, and fresh baked bread. I ordered the chicken and chenjeh(steak) combo. The rice was average, the chicken was excellent, but the chenjeh was a bit tough and hard to chew. Not sure if I will visit again, maybe for the buffet. The kid behind the counter and the cook appeard to be very friendly and I wish them the best.

New owners! The food has improved vastly. I usually grab a bite after the gym next door. The spicy chicken or lamb tahiri(sp) are my fav. The male owner is very nice and hospitable as well. The ambiance is a 3 at best but the food makes up for it.

Ok my mistake for not looking this place up on Unilocal first but we were in a hurry and grilled chicken kabob is always something I enjoy eating. First and foremost the food is horrible. Second the place was empty yet all of the tables were filthy and not cleaned. Lazy staff here. Don’t go here. Save your money. It’s amazing how they are still in business. Is it really that easy to stay in business these days?

This place is about two blocks from a large, mainly government-provided, corporate housing complex.(Read: meat-eating men, hungry for dinners will likely find this place in search of dinner.) This, is how I found myself at Kabob Express(due to the company I keep.) Let me say, I wanted to like this place. Proximity — great. Price? Not too bad. But, it fell short. Call me crazy, but with Moby Dick’s House of Kabob(which I love) — I was disappointed. I was concerned a little by the fact that everywhere I walked, my feet felt like they were sticking to the floor. Not sure why. There was no one else in the restaurant. The food, was OK. I’ll give two stars here — one for proximity and one for the fact that the(owner? /front desk clerk) offered for us food from the buffet — free of charge. Nice touch.

For the love of God, run from this place. Our chicken kabob had a dried up crusty chicken foot/head(I’m not really sure what it was). We tried the Gyro, chicken kabob w/chick peas and rice. All of it terrible. One of the worst places I’ve ever eaten and I’m not just saying that.

This location reopened under new management late this summer. Their gyros sandwich is interesting but isn’t Greek style(more like a Schwarma). It’s tasty but somewhat expensive. The hummus was disappointingly bland and watery. Tasted like blended chickpeas from a can. I needed to add salt for some flavor. Service was a big disappointment. There were only three customers and it must have taken a solid 10 minutes for me to get my sandwich, with only one customer ahead of me. This was hardly«express.» Also, the prices are high, and the prices ring up higher at the register than the newly printed menu. I’m not going back, so it wasn’t worth the hassle of dealing with it.
