When in the middle of nowhere with just a few hours before a flight home, I bought too much stuff for my New Years trip to St. Louis and figured I’d check to see if I could get a used suitcase for a good price. I found a Samsonite suitcase for $ 6. SIXDOLLARS. I know if I went to Ross or TJ Maxx it would have been $ 130 easy. So thanks again Goodwill. You always seem to do me right in the heat of the moment which is why I always donate to you guys before anyone else with my old unused clothing items. Happy New Year.

This is probably the nicest Goodwill I’ve ever been in. I don’t come here often to shop, but I always try to give them my donations(unless they’re military items, of course). During my most recent trip, I gave them my box springs and king mattress along with about half my wardrobe. I’ve been trying to save on space and when you haven’t worn something in 3 years, it’s time to say goodbye. Unfortunately, my mattress was not to their standards, but they took it off my hands anyway. The kind gesture confirmed my opinion. This place is awesome.

This Goodwill isn’t anything special or out of the ordinary; it’s actually smaller than most other Goodwills I’ve been to. However, you don’t go to Goodwill for the ambiance, you go for the deals! With low expectations walking in, I left with a Columbia winter jacket that was just my size, was a color I liked, and seemed to only have been used a few times(and gently, at that). This beauty cost me a grand total of $ 4.33! Now that’s why you go to Goodwill! Also, just a comment on the service, I think it’s probably a hit or miss here. When I was ready to check out, I went up to the counter; no one was there. The closest two employees were chatting, even though they saw me waiting. Granted, maybe they weren’t the ones assigned to cashier duty at the time or something, but they could have offered to get the cashier for me. Another employee walked up after about a minute or two and she was friendly, the one who rang up my awesome jacket. I wouldn’t expect great service overall because a) it’s Goodwill and b) only some of the employees are helpful.

It may have just been bad timing(well, it obviously was), but I came in looking for more kitchen accessories. There were FOUR(seriously, FOUR) crying children in there for the 25 minutes or so that I was there. I could have handled one. But four. Plus Uncle Kracker was playing on the radio so that also wasn’t great. But for the real review. They actually had a decent amount of housewares, and I found some cool old plates, a Bundt pan, and some wooden spoons. It was on my way out the East STL area, so I’m glad I stopped in. The store was clean and the aisles were nice and wide to move through(a problem I’ve seen for parents with strollers/carts/etc).

After moving in with my hubby, we realized we had so much extra crap. TVs, camcorders, clothes, fixtures, etc. Honestly, a garage sale is out. We live in an area where an eyesore like that would be not appreciated. So why not donate it? The process is so simple. Drive up to the back doors behind the building. There is usually 2 guys back there. They help you unload and your done. You can’t get any simpler than this! And it might help someone less fortunate get some cool digs for their place.
