The Tomato Salad was everything everyone says it is… DELISH. Be sure to share it bc I honestly could of eaten it as my entrée. The duck over risotto was off the charts good. We were in town for our anniversary and it was between here and The Wash House. I’m so glad we came here instead! We’ll be back for sure!

Amazing restaurant! Food is gourmet and never disappoints. Constant perfection in the presentation, freshness, flavor and portion size. I’ve eaten everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the Flatiron Steak and Crème Brulee’ for dessert. Staff is awesome and strives to make your dining experience a memorable one. They go above and beyond to help you enjoy your evening. Cozy atmosphere that is perfect for a special occasion, date night, business dinner or casual dinner with friends/​family. Definitely a place you don’t want to miss! It’s sure to become your favorite place in Fairhope.

Surely Camellia Café is one of the better dining choices in Eastern Shore. They have a good, balanced menu. There’s something for everyone — whether you are a local with «gulf coast palette» or passing by this beautiful town. Note: if you are Veggie/​Vegan, you will have limited options, just like most Southern restaurants.
We have enjoyed some really good meals here! Service has been decent too. Atmosphere is inviting and I really like it.
The food — good, but not AMAZING, in terms of flavor, execution and originality (important!). But hey, chances are, if you bring your parents/​in-​laws out here for dinner, they would really enjoy it.
I like to come here during week days where it’s quieter and nice.
I would urge you to AVOID going here for Mother’s Day… or Valentine’s Day… you know, when they get super busy. They cram that small dining room as much as they can, to the point of ridiculousness. I know it’s a money-​making day for restaurants, but come on… it’s like they only see their patrons for their $$. To be fair, the chefs did great job of sending out dishes in a timely manner, service staff did their best to be attentive, but the seating arrangement and management was just BAD. I saw some folks having to move their chair every time someone wants to walk by… like, every 10 minutes or so. With their price point, you’d expect them to handle it better.

We went here for our anniversary dinner. Everyone we talked to had great things to say, so we were really looking forward to a great night out. We were disappointed. The food was good, but not anything unusual or unexpected. Our waiter wasn’t rude, but he didn’t seem to care if we were there or not. He didn’t take any opportunity to help us choose drinks or food that we would particularly like.
All in all, it was just okay, but at over $ 100 for 2 people, I want more than okay.

We dined here a few nights ago. The atmosphere is clean & hip with interesting artwork. The bartender made a mean martini. Our server was professional & attentive though not particularly friendly. I ordered the swordfish, which was cooked just right, but everything was over-​seasoned and just too peppery. It overwhelmed the flavor of the fish & sides, all of which would have been quite good if left alone. My husband had the flank steak Oscar that another diner recommended & he was very pleased. I’m not sure I would re-​visit as our bill was $ 181 & I didn’t think the food was top drawer.

Ate at Camellia Café again last night. We had what may be the best meal that we have had on the Eastern Shore. Incredible cuisine. The flank steak is a culinary dream come true. If you have not tried this dish, do yourself a favor and go. Tonight. It will be totally worth it. You’re Welcome!!!

Outstanding food. Everything we had was delicious. Are the prices reasonable? Not a chance. But that’s what is expected from a gourmet restaurant like this. Great for special occasions. The local tomato salad was incredible.

If the venison is on the menu, get it! Creamed spinach is tasty. Ribeye had a flavor I didn’t particularly care for on red meat, but can order it without. The quail appetizer is a definite must get starter, but make sure you get your own, it is small. Ordered the crispy duck my last visit and it was not crispy, which was a let down. Tomato salad with black eyed peas is fresh and flavorful. Must finish your meal here with the peanut butter pie and french pressed coffee.

We have visited this restaurant several times. The food is good but the manager sucks. Doubt I’ll ever go back.

We love everything about this place.
It is a true Bistro style restaurant with formal service that is not stuffy. It is so refreshing to have a place where you can dress up, have a fabulous meal, a great glass of wine and a good dessert.
The ambiance is perfect, the service is superb and the food is innovative without being weird. Portions are good without being huge or miniscule, and I have yet to have a bad experience here
The staff all pitch in so that you never feel as if you are over or under served. This is truly not to be missed if you are having date night or a special occasion in Fairhope.

Had dinner here for the first time on our anniversary. Everything we had was amazing. My wife had the tomato stack salad for her appetizer, and the duck breast with risotto. I had the oysters Rockefeller and the flat iron steak oscar. My wife loved both of her meals. My oysters were great and the entrée was amazing. The wine reduction sauce mixed with the bordelaise was outstanding. The only change I might have made was having my steak prepared slightly more well done. I ordered it med-​rare and it was slightly chewy in the center. The outsides were more crispy and tasted much better. Would probably go at least medium next time. We also split a ricotta cheesecake for dessert.
The only downside is that it is definitely more expensive than your typical dinner joint. If I had to label the restaurant, I would compare it to the price level of Ruth Chris… with less volume of food… but better quality and more relaxed atmosphere.
Will definitely be back for special occasions.

We had a wonderful experience at Camellia’s last night. Everything from the Blue Point oysters, tomato salad and gumbo to the incredible flank steak and apple crisp dessert was delicious. My husband and I have fallen in love with this enchanting town. Camellia’s speaks volumes of its outstanding culinary offerings and hospitality.

What a great find in Fairhope, Alabama. A friend and I dined there last weekend and it more than exceeded our expectations. The service, ambience and food were just fabulous. You must have the Watermelon Salad and the Tomato Salad. They were phenomenal as was the Crab Cake salad. Entrees were equally great and so were the desserts. A definite must when at the beach. My family and I will be back. Amazing!!!
