Yu Smile Dental

After learning how badly our previous dentist was ripping us off with outrageous fees for fillings all the while explaining the high cost was due to our being on a «fee schedule» (double speak) when in truth, it was because they were NOT a contracted provider with our level of insurance, I switched our dental care to Dr. Yu.
Whenever I asked our previous dentist if they were still a contracted provider for Delta Dental, they would say yes, when in truth, they were only a provider for the premium level of insurance, not the PPO plan that we had, so all the work that was done was considered out of network. I feel horrible for having delayed getting work for my now 20 year old son done because I could not afford their fees, when all along, they should have done the honorable thing and sent us to a dentist that was in our plan.
Dr. Yu was able to see my son right away and in the course of two visits she performed ten (10) fillings, of which one was the repair of a filling that the previous dentist had botched and the total out of pocket cost to me was just $ 350. Our previous dentist had the audacity to advise me that the costs for filling just two (2!) of the fillings my son needed would be $ 400.
Also, Dr. Yu only uses resin for fillings, not amalgam (mercury/​metal) and she still bills as though she is using amalgam. She is a physician with integrity.
Finally, my son gets anxiety at the dentist but Dr. Yu made him feel at ease. I am so glad we made the switch.

Dr Yu is great! I struggle with anxiety when it comes to dental work and she is very good at putting you at ease. At first I was apprehensive about a dental office next to a Taco Bell (very superficial, I know), but the office is very new and clean and everyone who works there are very professional.
My previous experience with dentists were always with older, male dentists (no offense to any) and the last one I went to were motivated by the ¨perfect smile¨, so they say things like ¨you needs all this work, plus, braces and whitening and maybe a few veneers and maybe we’ll reshape these two, etc.¨ at your first visit, whereas with Dr Yu I was given a list of what needs to be done, by priority, what needs doing now, and what can wait. This list did not include any cosmetic work. She has mentioned whitening and braces, but only in context with current treatments, like when I had a root canal and needed to have a crown placed we discussed what color she should make it, in case I want to whiten my teeth in the future. Or because my bite is open and I grind my teeth pretty badly, I should consider braces and then a night guard.
I haven’t felt pressured to do things I didn’t want done, I want to concentrate on fixing and preventing cavities and bone loss and gum disease, aesthetics are costly and secondary procedures to me. I appreciate a dentist who understands that.
So far Dr. Yu has done all the procedures herself, including the initial consultation and cleanings, and I will say that I like that so much better than when you see a dentist’s assistant at appointments and the dentist ¨sees¨ you for the last 5 minutes after the assistant briefs him and he reiterate what she said.
I will keep going to Dr Yu, I actually enjoy going in now and I’m never worried about appointments anymore.

Such a great office and great staff! Dr. Yu is amazing. She did my cleaning and not only is she gentle, but she always checks on you to make sure you’re comfortable.
The equipment in the office is current, new, and extremely clean! It’s such a beautiful office. They took digital x-​rays on me, and it was so cool to see my x-​rays show up instantly on the computer screen! Also, during my cleaning I could watch t. v or netflix — a luxury I never had at any other office I had been to.
The staff is so friendly and wonderful. I love it here!
I’m not typically afraid of the dentist, but I can imagine that if I were to be, they’d do everything to make me feel at ease and comfortable. I believe they opened about 2 years ago, so it’s still fairly new! Check ‘em out!

Aww… pleasant experience from start to finish. Very classy place and service was top notch! Seamless intake, first time I’ve had x-​rays and did not feel like I was having surgery, understandable explanations of my treatments/​procedures, fun staff, & you can watch movies while you receive treatment?!? What more could you ask for? If you’re looking for a dentist… look no further. :-) I’m a southern gal so it was so nice to visit a place that shows the southern hospitality I’ve been use to. Thanks Yu Smile Staff!!! I think I’ve found my dentist :-)

Ok so for the last 8 years living in Green Valley (fairfield) area I have been having a hard time finding a in network dentist that meets my expectations. We have delta dental PPO, I have tried about 4 different dentists in the area, that I will not name because I don’t want to bad mouth anyone, but their style of dentistry was old, equipment didn’t feel modern, and me and my kids were always told we had no cavities and everything was great. I went to a really good dentist before that wasn’t in delta dental PPO, but right away seen a huge difference, but because he wasn’t in network it was just too expensive. I am so happy that I found Dr. Claudine Yu @ Yu Smile Dentist. The office is modern, each chair has a screen where you can pick a movie from Netflix (my kids loved this). She uses all the up to date modern technology. She is great with kids, her staff is nice and professional, has been taking care of my teeth issues that were ignored or unfound the last few years and I am just so glad to have finally found an in network dentist that meets all my expectations so I had to come on here and give her a 5 star review!
