You’d think there isn’t much to say, much less rave about, when it comes to a pretty simple deli-type place. Then you read tons of reviews singing this place’s praises and you begin to question everyone’s sanity… and then you go there. I’ve been coming here for a few years, sporadically, and every time I come in the woman behind the counter remembers me, and remembers my order. Everything I’ve ever tried has been made to order and mouth-wateringly delicious. I almost don’t want to know what they put on their grilled chicken, lest it be illegal and addictive, because they make grilled chicken taste like nectar of the gods. Sandwiches are usually enough to feed two people, although you won’t be inclined to share them. Their balsamic vinaigrette is delicious, and I tend to hate salad dressing. It feels weird raving about this little hole in the wall place that produces the standard deli fare, but it’s clearly superior to the rest.

My friend and I stumbled across this place by accident, we were planning on going to another restaurant, but it didn’t open until 4. We were on our way to Magnify, when we pulled in to this place that was basically right next door. I got the Cesar salad. It was very good, tons of chicken that was seasoned nicely and not dried out, fresh lettuce, and crunch croutons. The dressing was great as well, very thick and creamy, with a little tang. next time I am in the area, I will stop to try some more of the food.

I haven’t had one bad thing here yet! Burgers, subs and breakfast sandwiches are ALL amazing and made with quality product. I’m not sure why people said the staff can be abrasive or overwhelmed. The woman at the counter knows everybody that’s ever been their by name, what they like to order and is always pleasant. If they are overwhelmed that’s a good sign that people want to eat here. I’ll wait an extra 30 seconds for my food here every time opposed to a fast food joint. Well done cutting board.

This place is awesome. The sandwiches come out VERY slowly… but wait because you won’t be disappointed. Very friendly staff and amazing food. Outstanding!

This past weekend, after doing some shopping with Wifey, I was HANGRY… I mean super grumpy. I hadn’t eaten breakfast, it was already 1pm, and I wasn’t in the mood to talk… let alone think… so Wifey decided to help by finding us a sandwich place close to where we were. The Cutting Board is kind of a no frills sandwich shop, but by the taste of the sandwiches we had… they don’t need the frills. I ordered a Roast Beef and Turkey Sloppy Joe(for those who don’t know what a REAL Sloppy Joe is, it ISN’T the ground beef in Manwich sauce we all know and love, it’s meat, swiss cheese, cole slaw, and Russian dressing on Rye), and my wife got one of their specials-a sandwich with hot chicken, cheese, hummus and some other veggies. The sandwiches were both great. Mine actually had a little too much cole slaw on it so it was a little soggy, but it was still delicious, My wife allowed me to taste hers and I don’t know WHAT kind of spices they put on this sucker, but it was REALLY good. Unfortunately, The Cutting Board isn’t close to where I live so it isn’t going to become a go-to sandwich place for me, but if you’re in the area and looking for a great sammich — give them a shot… you won’t be disappointed. It’s a pretty big place where you can eat-in, lots of parking, counter guys were super nice, food was great, and the prices aren’t too bad… makes this a place worth trying.

Everything is so pricey even the coffee! That’s just ridiculous, I’d rather go to Jersey Mike’s or else where.

I have been coming to the Cutting Board for years! I have loved every meal I have ever ordered here, but my go-to choice is the garden salad with balsamic chicken. The staff is very welcoming, and always addressing me by name. I love the atmosphere with the various unique salt & pepper shakers. Can’t wait to go here today :)

Disclosure, I ordered ahead online and picked up in the restaurant so I cannot speak much of the atmosphere and environment. That being said it looks like an old diner that was converted and I think it works well. The workers, while I only had a brief encounter seemed professional although not much for small talk they got the job done so I cannot complain. The meal was a chicken herb panino although i got it on multi-grain whole wheat and it was great. The cheese, chicken, bread, caramelized onions and herb spread all go together and flavors mesh well. The only complaint was the caramelized onions were a bit too oily and turned some of the bread into mush. Overall I was very impressed with the taste and various flavors of the panino

Love this place ! I’ve been here many times for breakfast and lunch. One of the best Deli and Grill in the area. Great sandwiches, cheeseburgers and salads ! I love their sandwiches but my new favorite thing is their Honey Turkey Gourmet and Gourmet Chicken Wrap. The staff is very attentive, they do a great job !

Came here on a Friday afternoon and although the reviews had me a little worried I had to come to be a judge myself… First off finding this place if you are not from the area is hard… The GPS kept re-routing I don’t know why… I think this place needs a sign or their name where all of the other business names are and even the restaurant itself didn’t have a banner and if it did it wasn’t noticeable, found it by pure luck… Anyway came inside and was greeted by the lady in the register that I’m guessing other reviewers call her«rude» … Not rude at all some people are just too sensitive and can’t take a woman being a lil rough around the edges… Any who, I ordered the chicken philly cheese sandwich… Can I tell u that by far one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had… Not only was it fresh but they wasn’t stingy with the chicken… The bread was so soft and the onions, peppers and mushrooms were DELICIOUS… Service was great received our food in a matter of 10 minutes after placing order… I can’t wait to go back to try other items on their menu… My new favorite spot for sandwiches… P. s. don’t forget to order some fries…

Could be a 4 – 5 star review but cutting board cannot handle their workload. When I arrived there during lunchtime there was one other duo there waiting for their food. I ordered a grilled chicken salad. The duo was out within 5 minutes. Then I watched the entire staff work on take out orders for another 30 minutes. If you are going to be a restaurant and takeout place you need to make sure the people waiting in front of you are in and out. I could have left, driven home and stopped at another place and had my food in a shorter amount of time. Don’t tell me it’s «cooked fresh»! The salad is pre made so all they had to do was throw on some lousy chicken. If you work at cutting board and are reading this GOTO A CHIPOTLE and take some notes!!! It’s a shame. Good food bad business model.

I work at another local business in Fairfield, NJ. We have been ordering food from the Cutting Board for 5+ years now and have never once received a bad order. At times delivery can take a little while because the place is small, but the food is just so darn fresh. The sub roll bread is incredible and that goes a long way in making a 5-star sandwich. Today I tried the Hot Apple & Ham Panini and was blown away by mix of flavors, textures, and spicy hot jalapeño cheese! This is the kind of place you can go to for a common sandwich, and leave very satisfied. Their Italian sub puts other delis and pizzeria’s to shame. At the same time you can explore some of their more creative options such as the aforementioned Hot Apple and Ham Panini or the Cranberry Turkey sandwich. Their reputation has grown and at times they can get very busy and seem understaffed. If you work in the area, you’re probably already familiar with this place, If not, it’s a very nice break from the typical chinese/pizza routine.

I don’t think I’ve had a bad sandwich from this place. When they first opened I remember how easy it was to get in and out and get your sandwich. But as they’ve gotten busier over the years, the service has definitely taken a turn for the worse. You can see it especially now, as their dining area is rarely ever occupied and it’s turned into more of a take out place. Their food is top notch. It may seem a bit on the pricey side at first but their sandwiches last for 2 meals, if not even more. They use quality Boar’s Head cuts, and their bread is delicious and fresh as well. Even when my order has been messed up I usually eat it as it comes out delicious. The service needs a rapid change, and fast as it will lead to the downfall of this place. When you call, you are greeted with the most aggressive person taking your order possible. I understand that they’re busy, and they only have one person doing it, but good god… change something! At least they have online ordering now, as it lessens the chance of a screwup and the one lady isn’t always insanely busy. When your order is messed up, or they forget something too, it is never a quick fix. Expect to wait 20+ minutes for something that needs to be cooked, and 10 – 15 minutes for something that doesn’t. TLDR: Amazing food, awful service which stems from a bad ordering system. This place should get 5 stars, but service takes it down to a 3 – 4 star.

Food was great, the place was clean. Order ahead to avoid the lunch rush! There is a small seating area in the back, and plenty of parking out front.

Short Summary *4.5 stars for the food* *food portion satisfying and very fresh!* *Parking is good* *Seemed very clean* ***The Food*** Ok, so I usually like to go a few times before I write a review, so I’ll def write an updated one next time… But I came here with 2 of my co-workers around 12pm(one of which has been here a few times). I got the Chef’s Salad(pix included). It was spectacular, I mean I’ve never had a chef’s salad before so I can’t really compare to other deli’s but the produce was super fresh and tasty. One of my co workers got the Reuben which he loved(pic is up there too). ***The only Negative*** The lady taking our order was dumb rude, greeted us with an assertive«can I take your order?» and my friend asked for one moment and she caught an attitude lol like she was just aggressive with us ordering at that very moment right then & there! Then she got a phone order and since I already knew what I wanted I stood in front my two coworkers that were still looking at the menu. She immediately asked to place my order(while on the phone) so as she’s taking my order she’s also writing down the phone order, then she kept asking my friend what she wanted… yet at the same time she was answering questions for whomever was on the phone placing their order… we knew one of our orders were going to get messed up… which it did lol and of course when my friend asked ever so politely for this to be corrected the lady was just rude with it… there’s a few other negatives I could write about but I’m not going to center this review on their customer service, it should be all about the FOOD!(that why there’s 4 stars up there). And to give her the benefit of the doubt — It seemed like she was the only one taking orders(both on the phone and face-face), the only one serving, and taking payments… so kudos to her. Regardless, the salad was fresh and tasty, and I look forward to trying other stuff on the menu.

The«Roast Beef Gourmet» sandwich is excellent! I can’t say I much care for any other menu items, and the sandwiches generally have too many different toppings for my liking, but the roast beef gourmet is one good sandwich. The staff can be a bit abrasive at times.
