I love watching The Profit but have to side against Marcus on this one. Great fish and respectable family business in my opinion. Keep it up.

They have really gone down hill lately. The fish is not as fresh as it was and their new offerings of prepared food are clunky and old to say the least.

Shouldn’t really be called a fish market if you cannot purchase fresh fish with a decent selection. For a real Fish Market go to Pagano’s in Norwalk. Everything here seems already seasoned– perfect for Fairfield people who don’t cook but some of us do and it would be nice to have a decent fish market close by.

Stopped in and got a quart of the bouillabaisse. Awesome!!! Price very fair. Guy behind the counter was very nice. Can’t complain.

Purchased 2lbs of scallops and they were bad — tried to contact Swanson and no response. Sent over $ 50 will never go back again — bad business ethics

Ok so i saw the profit episode and read Larrisa’s rebuttal. A lot of inconsistencies on both sides, but I guess bad press is better then no press so I stopped in today. Got two soups just had the seafood bouillabaisse, it was excellent. I didn’t give the place 5 stars because that is all that had from them. I will try the other soup and go back for more. i wish them good luck and hope they are really honest.

stopped by for some seafood: tuna steaks. asked for the freshest so I can pan sear and eat rare. Also picked up some crab meat. Asked for jumbo lump so I can make crab cakes… The tuna has this shimmering layer of slime, and the crab meat was pretty stringy… never again…

I was driving north on the turnpike 2 weeks ago and i thought I would try something different. I stopped in Swanson’s Fish based on a friends recommendation. I was looking for a hot fish and chips dinner, unfortunately it was not Friday. The staff was very friendly and helpful to explain to come back on Fridays and showed their hot menu. While I was being helped a nice lady informed me of their soups that i could have since i could not get the dinner. She went on to recommend the Bouillabaisse and stated she just came back from visiting Paris and theirs was just as good as the real thing. I bought it and i must say it was incredible!!! They also had lobster bisque, clam chowder Manhattan and New England. I can’t wait to try the fish and chip dinner! Great Job guys!

I am a fan because this is a solid, consistent, always fresh, ample seafood market serving both local and international options. The service is helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. I have been a patron for years & I find this F airfield institution to be a good option. Recently I tried their HOT Fish & Chips– soooo yummy. I might(not committed just yet) just like theirs better than Westfair in Westport! Small parking lot. Very busy on weekends. Call ahead to see whats in stock– they are very helpful.

Far better than Fjord(in Westport) where the fish is far too often found to be spoiled when opening it at home. But Swanson’s is sometimes lacking in supervision as the younger clerks there don’t take their job seriously.
