The staff here is helpful, but almost seem irritated upon receiving your order. The best experience I had with them was when calling in advance to pick up my order, aka the least interaction all together.
I’ve only had the soft serve at sunny daes, which I found out is ordered in a bag. It’s yummy, but nothing special. The pricing is heavy for what your getting, which I doubt I’d see too much of a problem with if the service itself was better and more friendly.
One thing I can definitely compliment is their toppings. The toppings themselves are always fresh, never stale and that matters seeing as how I am a lover of their hurricanes.

Stopped in and got a small with one topping that cost me $ 6. That’s pretty step when you can go down the street and get a lot more for your money.

Oh Heaven. So many choices, I love them all. I love that we have a local ice cream place, such a special treat. Timothy’s in Blackrock is nice too, but I’m a Sunny Daes girl. It’s my top choice.

I’m sorry but this Gelato has NO flavor at all. Everything is dirty inside and unappetizing .
The presentation of the ice cream and Gelato is also disappointing. I just threw away my Gelato and heading to Pinkberry

This place needs to focus on cleanliness. Every nook and cranny is so dirty! I will not be back solely based on the way this place is taken care of. If they can’t scrub the floor what would make me think the ice cream is sanitary?

Beware if sugarless ingredients bother your digestive system! Love the gelato but sugarless is not labeled. If you are one of those people who gets really bad abdominal pains from sorbitol or similar, you have to ask the server if the gelato you want is sugarless. Don’t understand this; other places that serve sugarless food ALWAYS have labels saying the item is sugarless.

I would give less stars if I could. Went in asked for vanilla with caramel in a cup and went home. Got home and it was chocolate with caramel, how do you screw that up? I wasn’t about to drive across town again for them to fix it. An ice cream place that doesn’t know the difference between vanilla and chocolate is not a good one in my book. Pass on this place, its filthy inside to boot. Go to Coldstone a block away.

I enjoy this Sunny Daes because they have probably the best gelatto you can get in Fairfield county and a really good selection of other menu items.
While I normally wouldn’t choose this place for ice cream (as Coldstone is right down the street), there’s nothing lacking for ice cream flavors you would expect from any typical small chain parlor. The staff is very friendly and keeps the lines moving along, and I really like being able to sit outside with everyone and enjoy my gelatto on one of the benches on a hot summer day.

This place is about service. The lines get long but the staff makes sure it keeps moving. Their Gelato is better than 90% of what I’ve had in the U.S. and they always have about 10 – 20 flavors. They keep working on it so MAYBE it’ll eventually be on par with Italian Gelato. At least I can dream…
I’m not big on ice cream but I have no complaints about theirs.
