We went to C.D.G with dear friends who visit often. It is small and quaint with friendly waitresses. The menu consist of classic Italian cuisine with some good specials thrown in. Service is not rushed and neither is the food preparation. Appetizers: Eggplant rollatini– very good Fried zucchini– made fresh, good, not the best I have had Clams, lentil soup, pasta fagioli– all nicely done Entrees: Filet of sole Francese– light, fish was fresh Linguini and clams– my friend enjoyed his dish Chicken Murphy with sausage-tasty Dessert Cannoli –good Casa Di Giovanni is a good stop for a reasonably priced and leisurely paced meal. It is usually easy to get in on a last minute basis. BYOB

We went to Casa DiGiovanni with family members for dinner. I used to frequent this small chef owned Italian Restaurant when I worked in the area a few years ago, but had not been there since changing jobs. The food and ambiance were always outstanding and nothing has changed. We were a group of 10 tonight. For appetizers we split the zucchini sticks, fried potatoes cut like potato chips and stuffed eggplant as well as the included garlic bread which was excellent. For entrees we each had various chicken, veal or shrimp dishes. I had the Chicken Rossini which was sauteed with garlic, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese and black olives. All entrees included salad & pasta. Everything was first rate. The prices are very reasonable and being BYOB is a plus. We certainly recommend this restaurant and will be returning when in the area.

This restaurant has the worst customer service. They always get orders wrong and never apologize for their mistakes. I will never step foot in this establishment again. The woman taking orders is borderline racist!!!

Sharron and Giovanni run a WONDERFUL restaurant. We’ve been using them for years for Lunch, Dinner and Take-Out and even private family parties. Prices are excellent especially at lunch time when you can get two meals for $ 20 and it comes with bread and salad! We always ask for a side of potatoes instead of pasta because they are thin and crispy and salty, love em! It’s a BYOB and it’s right next to Calandra’s Bakery on Rt 46 in Fairfield. Check them out you won’t be disappointed.

what a find! I’d eat here all the time if i worked nearby. It’s evident that the owner has a love for cooking with the best ingredients. every part of the meal was fabulous right down to the fresh bread and tasty butter. Great service too. Most restaurants charge double the price for average quality. Can’t wait to have the soup and meatballs again!

Came here for lunch today and ordered a chicken parm and coke. A small side salad was served along with a couple slices of garlic bread. The salad was OK, after all it’s just a salad. The garlic bread was hot and tasty — made with fresh garlic, parsley, and olive oil. The chicken parm with a side of penne was quite good — cheesy and tender chicken. The portions are not big, but it was enough. Extra bread and butter was also served, which helped satisfy my hunger. Final bill was $ 9.85. Overall pretty good lunch. I’ll be back again.

The service has always been slow here, but the food was good. They don’t even have that going for them anymore. Service has slowed to a crawl. Our dinners took forever to be delivered, and when they did arrive, we received partial dishes(meatballs without spaghetti). Some dinners sat on the table getting cold, while we waited for others to arrive. When we complained to the manager, who I assume is an owner of this small business, it seemed like she didn’t even car. She actually recommended to us that if we weren’t happy, we should reflect that in our tip. She didn’t even apologize to us. As for the food, it has definitely gone down hill. Our order of angel hair was delivered as spaghetti; our order of linguini was delivered as spaghetti. Several other pasta dishes were little more than the respective pasta with tomato sauce. The other ingredients from the description on the menu were either forgotten or provided in such minuscule quantities that they were negligible and had no flavor impact on the dish. I was embarrassed to have recommended it to the other people who we were dining with. Maybe this restaurant will survive on the business from the hotel nearby, but I won’t be going back there. Several other diners were outside the restaurant at a neighboring ice cream shop, and reflected similar problems.
