It’s a surprisingly good restaurant with a steep price tag for the region but worth the visit. Brunch has half off certain bottles of wine and the French toast was very sweet and rich and certainly that one piece was too dense for one. It is a big treat. I would have given this place four stars if not for our waiter who knew his wines so well. He was able to answer all questions and provide information and what he doesn’t know, he goes and asks somebody which is not common in our know it all nation. I’m definitely going back.

I’ve gone to all Barcelona’s in Ct, Stamford and in Norwalk. But Fairfield is by-far my favorite. The atmosphere is intimate, the music is lively and parking is easy. The tapas ARE really small(just beware of this) and the meals are regular size portions. If you are extremely hungry and looking for a feast be ready to spend big bucks. If you are looking for a small get together, drinks and some tapas this is the place for you. Mind you, this is the only place that is open late hours with food still being served! This is a big plus in my book.

Ambiance is like a diner — from the black rubber floor mats, to the wall paper and wainscoting. Service was mediocre.(Food was not brought at the same time and the waiter gave no concern to who ordered what, just put plates down in front of anyone.) Crêpe was not well cooked. No waiting area while people ware waiting for their table. Overall, very mediocre.

I am done with Barcelona. Used to go all the time(to multiple locations throughout Connecticut) but I will no longer spend my money there. Over the past year, I have gone three times and waited approximately one hour for our table each time. The last straw was this past Saturday night in Fairfield where my friends and I waited one hour and twenty minutes on a 7:30 reservation. I appreciate the managers trying to facilitate but offering us a free bottle of Cava at dinner for that length of wait does not ameliorate the situation. Each time, over the past year, we have received apologies and explanations but it is still over three hours of my time waiting on a reservation. If you can’t honor a reservation within 20 – 30 minutes, don’t take reservations. There are too many restaurants in Fairfield County to dine at who will honor reservations within a small window of waiting time. So adiós Barcelona… I think I could have been seated quicker by just flying to the real Barcelona for an authentic Spanish meal.

Barcelona has great food, great service and interesting drinks but parking can be a challenge since the hotel opened. We’ve been to Barcelona a few times this year and each time is better than the last. There were three of us who shared a range of tapas which we enjoyed. We noted that the menu changed over time based on what was seasonally available. While its a bit cool to sit outside, the deck was great in the spring-fall and I’ve taken clients there a couple times who had a favorable experience.

Wonderful food, great ambiance(albeit a little cramped). Very nice & knowledgeable wait staff. Oh, and more than few nice wines!!!

Uneven. Tapas range from above average(fig and goat cheese) to decent(empanadas) to pedestrian. Larger plates equally average, but the large wine selection often surprises to the upside.

Came here for Birthday dinner with family. Great food, wine, and service, but they forgot the pork chop for my Parillada dish. Otherwise it’s a five stars review

I shopped by after a late flight and was happy that they were still open and serving a decent sized late night menu. I have been to the Barcelona in New Haven and actually think I prefer this one. It wasn’t a crazy bar scene like the one in New Haven, but it is quieter and less packed which is more how my experience with tapas bars have been. Of course the food was great as Barcelona tends to be. I do love their garlic aioli(aka liquid crack). I always request a side of it to spread on my bread and everything else I can find.

The great: I went for an anniversary dinner, which I noted on our Seat Me reservation(they take those, super helpful.) They surprised us at the end of our meal with champagne, extremely sweet. The bourbon cocktail with maple syrup — life changer. All of our food was delicious, as always at Barcelona — we tried the beet salad, chicken empanada, smoked eggplant coca(based on a recent visit to Spain; a little too much heat for me but bf loved it), jambon croquettes, and garlic shrimp. It was plenty for two. The good: Our particular server was spot on with recommendations and attentive. The wait staff that was standing at the register however — completely different story. One in particular had the mouth of a sailor(granted, so do I, but NOT at work and NOT standing next to table of customers), so that got some looks for me. The ew: There were SOMANYFLIES. What the heck? And the booth I was sitting in was ripped. It was a weird juxtaposition of delicious, classy food and drink with a rundown, hole in the wall environment. Less flies, more stars. :)

Just sat at the bar waiting on a colleague and chatted with the bartender(Kitana?). The prices were reasonable, the beer selection was AMAZING, and the wine selection was abundant. They served a lot of different cocktails and even had sangria. I wish I could say more but I only sat at the bar for an hour or so but my time was enjoyable, the management was spot on and friendly, and the drink selection was above par. Very conveniently located off the Merritt Parkway and ample parking. Definitely need to check it out if you are in the area.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere almost as much as the food. The lamb chops were fantastic and the staff was readily available and on the ball during the entire meal. We tried the calamari, corn fritters, and empanadas tapas as well as the lamb chops. 5 stars!

Chicken Pimentos is my husbands ‘must have’ every time we’re there. I love their charcuterie platters. A few glasses of wine, some rustic crusty bread with a little olive oil, mushrooms and goat cheese — that’s all you need. The jamon & manchego croquettes are amazing as well. Fun spot, been going there forever.

This place is beyond amazing. I have had some of the best meals with delicious food and fun company here. I have had my birthday in the private room in the back. There is something for everyone. The wine list is wonderful. The staff is lovely. All in all, I’d live here if I could!

This is a very nice spot to come for happy hour. I was here last night with my coworkers enjoying cocktails on the patio. We love the patio — even on a hot evening 90 degrees like yesterday — it is still nice to sit out there as there is a breeze. We ordered a bunch of tapas, which were all delicious. The server was polite and professional and we didn’t have to wait for anything too long which was great. I ordered a mojito and they made it very well. The only thing that I don’t like about this location is the parking situation. I could barely find a spot — it seems like they’ve been doing construction there forever. Hopefully that will get resolved soon.

barcelona is always consistent. But they are also a very cost concious business, so sometimes you question certain aspects of their meal. But last time I went there, I had a pretty big problem. I dont want to go into it, because the manager was beyond accommodating, and really genuinely cared. Not only did she make it right, but came by multiple times to make sure it was right. Restaurants aren’t always perfect, but we need restaurants that revel in their successes, and work on their failures. Barcelona is a great place in the community. It has great atmosphere, very good food, solid service. Decent kitchen. Terrific management.

I’ve driven past the Motel Hi-Ho a million times in my life and never even known this little gem was here! Funky décor, great wines by the glass, and a wide array of all-delicious food options makes this an awesome place to stop — not to mention it’s the only thing around for miles. The parking is weird, and the motel feels a little Bates-y, but otherwise this is an excellent little restaurant. (Also, we sat next to what was presumably a first date between Balding Guy and Somewhat Oversized Girl. Fun people watching!)

Barcelona is a great option, especially in this area of Fairfield. I have eaten here several times for everything from a Valentine’s dinner or just an evening out. The food is delicious and sophisticatedly presented. They have an extensive wine list and great sangria. The funky 70’s décor also distinguishes it from other dining experiences. I recommend Barcelona Fairfield for events as well. I had a gathering of about 35 people here and got many compliments.

The General Manager of the Fairfield location reached out to me directly to hear more details of my experience to offer areas of improvement to his staff. I always commend this response to a less than perfect Unilocal review and due to the dedication to their customers, I’ve decided to bump this review up to 4 stars, especially since the food really does deserve this rating! The Manager absolutely did not ask me to update my review, but his genuine and caring response to my review made me feel like I was an important customer. It goes to show that just because I had one bad experience with a waitress, this isn’t a reflection of the service of the restaurant as a whole :)

Quality food, great outdoor seating as weather permits and decent wine list with 50% off Sunday’s. Can get pretty loud as our Fairfield County elite get lit up and forget to use their inside voice.
