Such a cute place! The ambiance is great and so is the food. I got the thAi coffee latte, which was pretty good. It’s on the sweet side if you like that, but comes in a big mug to keep you warm on a freezing day. I had the pad Thai. I haven’t had pad Thai in a while and the one here was perfect. The portion size is actually quiet large so I ate 1⁄3rd of it and had to take the rest home. We also got dessert. I got the mango sticky rice and it is soooooo gooooodddd. The sticky rice is fluffy with the perfect amount of salt to balance out with coconut milk. Definitely try it!

Sisters Thai is the BEST Thai restaurant in Fairfax area! I simply love the décor and how it’s so welcoming, warm and cozy. It reminds me at my own home. I have been to the one in down town Fairfax as well. The food quality is good, well cook and the food portion is right. The customer service is excellent. They are fast, friendly and effective. Keep it up Sisters Thai! You are the best! I will tell all my friends and family to come try you guys out.

Absolutely delightful. Sisters Thai is located in a newer section of the Mosaic District, one block behind the(excellent) movie theater and around the corner from the(not anywhere near excellent) DGS Deli. There’s a decent-sized parking lot on the way back to the theater that can be a lot more convenient that the Target garage. Sisters Thai’s(Sisters’ Thai?) walls are festooned(always wanted to use that word) with books and nicknacks, reminiscent of Busboys and Poets. However, the music is better here. It’s also brighter and more inviting. I’ve only been here the one time and can only make two specific recommendations. The Long Island Ice Tea is delicious. Also good is the Gai Grob Kaprow(Crispy chicken with basil in chili garlic sauce). I was happy to see they paid attention to how the food looked as well as how it tasted. In addition to their food looking and tasting great, the portions are more than ample. Gazing around the room, it seems the kind of place where two entrees will comfortably feed three people(or an entire third world village). That generosity is usually reserved for restaurants that don’t turn out food of this quality. For me, a 4-star rating means I will add this restaurant to my list of «regular places» and suggest that others give it a try. Please consider this review as my suggestion.

I’ve eaten here twice and each time the food was great. The atmosphere is cozy, friendly staff and great location. Street parking is available but garage parking is nearby as well. The décor is modern but homey at the same time. Every dish I’ve ordered was tasty. The lettuce wrap appetizer is delicious!

I’ve been to Sisters Thai before and remember being decently happy with my meal, but this time around I was not impressed. First off, we came at an off-hour(around 4pm), when the entire restaurant was basically empty. Somehow, the service was still painfully slow. It took foreverrr to get our food. More importantly, I wasn’t really impressed with the food… The spring rolls were served scalding hot and my friend burnt her lip biting into it. They tasted ok but nothing super special. The tom yum soups we got all came out luke warm or cold and had to be returned to the kitchen to heat up. My main dish was the roasted duck soup noodles, and I could barely eat it because it was SO unbearably salty. The wide noodles were also all clumped together making it hard to eat and the duck slices were a little dry. Wouldn’t recommend ordering that. Finally, because it was 4pm on a Monday, we were there during happy hour(which is 3pm-6pm M-F), yet our server did not discount the moscow mules we ordered(which were actually really refreshing and good, served with big slices of ginger!). I do really like the atmosphere and décor of Sisters Thai — it’s quirky and kind of charming with little knick-knacks and books all over the place. But there are plenty of Thai places I’d probably choose over Sisters Thai when it comes to food(like Bangkok 54).

I hope table arrangement will be improved, place is a little congested. If they remove that huge bookshelf it can create more space. One of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been to but there’s one near Tyson’s corner that still stands out among the rest.

I came here for a friend’s baby shower party. Love the place, small but cozy and quaint. A cute place to go for a lunch/dinner date and to catch up with a friend. Food here is also good. I love pad-see-ew and I get it Thai spicy… it was so delicious and super spicy! And to compliment the spicy dish I got their Thai iced tea, which was perfect to my taste and paired well with any spicy food! We got crispy duck, pad thai, drunk enough noodles, beef dish(don’t remember the name of the dish but it was a spicy dish) and a few other dishes. All on point and well balanced flavors. Crispy duck was crispy flavorful dish, it’s a slightly spicy dish but you can ask it to be Thai spicy(which is super spicy or less spicy). We also got crispy calamari, num tuk(steak salad) and som tum(papaya salad). We couldn’t eat enough of these dishes, they were all so delicious. Service was great too. We had a lot of people at our tables with all different orders but they brought all the dishes out and made sure we were enjoying our time at the restaurant. The servers were friendly. Overall it was a nice experience at this restaurant.

I had given up on Thai food after my favorite Falls Church Thai place changed management and went way down hill. Then, Gretchen P introduces me to Sisters Thai. Thank goodness. I feel like I had one of those a-ha moments where you’re like, «ohh…THIS is what good thai food is supposed to taste like.» Our table split a whole bunch of curries(green, red, and panang) with various proteins which were all delicious. We also shared a huge helping of yummy fried tofu. This isn’t really helpful advice but I don’t really think you can go wrong with what you order. I’ll definitely be back here when I have a hankering for some Thai food.

I really loved the place. Its location is spot on and the ambiance is really cozy and warm welcoming… It’s a tiny place to fit in a restaurant but I’m really impressed by the way they have arranged the tables and occupied each and every area of the space so well. Those books on the wall in built are the most attractive feature… The service was quick and good. Young South Asian staff looked like college students, doing a good job I must say. This really nice waitstaff kept in mind bout my vegetarian taste and was quick in suggesting me the best veggie for on their menu. Overall good job. Keep it up guys Now the main part– Food. Tasty yummy delicious authentic Thai food. Cooked fresh and served hot. The quantity is good for one person per order. I believe two ppl need to order for their own as one helping might not suffice. Everyone sitting around me was enjoying their and was having a great time too. So for the food section I would give them 4 n half. I’m cutting half Coz of the quantity. I would prefer a lil more qty worth the money I’m spending. Overall… I’m definitely coming again !!!

My friend recommends this place to me since I want to have thai food. This is a new establishment in addition to the old fairfax location. I came here with two girlfriends without reservation. Should have made reservation since it is such a popular place. We waited for 40 mins until a table opened up. But it is worth it. We all ordered their Thai ice tea. You can’t miss Thai ice tea at a Thai restaurant, right? Speaking of the food, we tried the curry puff as appetizer. It is slightly sweet with mashed potato and some sort of meat in it. It is fluffy on the outside but creamy and rich inside. I like it, reminds me of samosa but lighter on the spice. For entrée I had the sister Thai fried rice with shrimp, and chicken. I requested it to be extra spicy. Oh man, it really got some kick to it. My friends ordered some other dishes that I tried. The fried rice in clay pot with basil was also very yummy. Couldn’t remember the name though. Last we shared a dessert, Thai tea soft cake, spongy and delicious, their presentation is so cute that makes you want to try all their dessert. The environment here is warm, cozy, very different from your regular Thai restaurant. It is more like a café style. nice and chic décor that makes you want to stay here for a long time and just chat with friends. The reason I gave four star is because the limited space here. Wish they have more tables. I will definitely come back with reservation ahead :)

Love this location just as much as the Fairfax location, however this one seems to have more traffic since its in the Mosaic district(so plan accordingly). The atmosphere here is somewhat rustic, quint, and very dainty. I love all of the little knick knacks that they’ve accumulated to make this place unique. The food is just as wonderful as well. Sisters Thai are able to maintain the authenticity of the food, yet making it somewhat modernize/a little Americanize without taking away from it’s true flavors(if that makes sense lol). Dining here was a wonderful experience and it’s a bit bigger than the Fairfax location. Definitely one of the restaurants you want to dine at if you frequent the Mosaic district.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the original location in Fairfax City, but this is the new and improved one! It’s a little bigger than the original location but it still has the same ambiance — warm, cozy, living room library-type feel. Very well decorated. Hats off! The food is consistent with the other location and the service is a little bit better than the other location. I may start frequenting this location more for sit-down service. If I’m just getting Sisters takeout then I’ll probably just pop in the Fairfax one.

We went here with a large group and ordered family style so we can try lots of food. We ordered their spring rolls, fried dumplings, drunken noodles, fried scallops, green curry, fried rice, eggplant, seafood clay pot with cellophane noodles and pork chops. There might have been more food that we ordered but these are the only ones that come to mind. We enjoyed the food so much that we finished all of it and ordered 2 additional dishes. I also brought our own dessert to celebrate a birthday and they took it out, added candles and a decorative plate to it to make it look even nicer. They even played a happy birthday song on the loud speakers! I was impressed with that birthday service. The rest of the service was average. We had to wave the waiter down when we needed something and sometimes it took a while to do so. We loved the atmosphere. It was cozy and stylish. This place does get packed(especially on the weekends) so I recommend making a reservation for a large group. All in all, we enjoyed our experience and will come back again.

Came by for a walk in Mosaic and ended up in this spot. Food: delicious, from appetizers to main dish, Ambience: modern, yet cozzie. Service: team style service, always on point. Try the fry wonton and Thai Rice. I suspect everything here is high quality, however, can’t go wrong at Sisters.

Always, always on the prowl for my next Thai adventure. We stumbled into this little Thai café before going to see a movie at the mosaic theater(which I also recommend). From the minute you walk in, your phone comes out. You can’t help but want to capture the neat décor, the amazing bookcases(which I forgot), the gated café and the little knick knacks throughout — it’s really a sight. The staff are welcoming and on point. Bonus: tv’s with the football game on(for the men in your life). We started with the spring rolls — my favorite yet. They were fresh and just the right amount of crunchy. They give you 4 so we shared because that’s plenty. We then ordered our entrees, I ordered the sweet and sour chicken(my fav dish) with brown rice. It was delicious! And the pineapples were warm and not mushy and everything just worked in that dish. My bf got the fried squid, which he devoured. I didn’t try because I am known for not doing well with spicy food but it looked and smelled amazing. We asked for and looked at the dessert menu(loved the creative menu) but we were stuffed and it was hard to even think of eating anything else. We will be back definitely because I am dreaming of that chocolate lave cake and Thai teas! Enjoy :)

I’ve been to the original Sisters Thai in old town Fairfax and while it was super cute it wasn’t particularly memorable on the palate. Since we live closer to Mosaic I’ve been wanting to give this one a try and I’m glad we finally did. The décor is just as cute and a little bigger. On a rainy Friday it was busy but no wait. We got reservations just in case. The menu is fairly extensive and food comes out pretty quickly. My husband got the duck noodle soup which is one of his favorite dishes and he really liked this one. He said«not as good as Thailand» but I thought it was pretty darn good. The soup uses the thick rice noodle like in drunken noodle. The cuts of duck are not particularly fatty. I cannot recommend my dish unless you are a spice fiend. I wanted to try something besides my usual fried noodle or curry favorites and tried the Jungle Curry with beef. I should have known it was going to be trouble when the waiter described it as «spicy» about four or five times. After about 3 – 4 bites I had to order a Thai ice tea to calm my stomach. The waiter kindly refilled my Thai ice tea as he waited for me to finish the dish but I really couldn’t(I just ate all the protein and some of the veggies). Tummy was making waves as we left. The dish does not taste bad, just out of my league. We’ll definitely be back, but I’m going to order something different next time.

This location looks straight outta pinterest, find me in the women’s bathroom dying of cuteness! Fo’real, check it out, it’s super cute! Love this location because it’s convenient and there is a ton to do after you finish up with dinner! However, the Fairfax location in terms of food is better in my opinion. Still, this wouldn’t stop be from returning for some drunken noodles, thai tea freeze, or any one of their other tasty concoctions.

Oh, Sisters Thai, how I adore thee! I thought your Fairfax location, with it’s super charming décor, scrapbook menus, and mismatched chairs, was as good as it could get, but you’ve really brought it to an entirely new level with your Mosaic location! It’s like the Fairfax location went on one of those makeover shows. It’s still the same restaurant, just classed up, elegant, and oh-so-nice looking. The décor is sleeker, but still quirky and cute. The menus are real printed menus instead of the scrapbook ones, but they still have a lot of charm. Plus, the drink + dessert menus are in these little polaroid photobooks — so adorable, and a wonderful throwback to the other restaurant’s menus. The space is bigger and more comfortably laid out, as well, with a nice little patio area, and the dessert counter off to the side for those that are just picking up a slice of cake and Thai iced tea to go. The menu itself is expanded at this location as well. While in Fairfax, the Thai street food menu is posted on the wall(and is written in Thai), so I never dared touch it, it’s part of the regular menu here! So my dining companion and I branched out a bit from our regular choices of panang curry and drunken noodles, and tried out something even more authentic. We started with the Donald Roll, which is kind of like a peking duck roll all done up in a roti bread wrap. Served with hoisin sauce, it was decadent and delicious, and I’m really glad the dish came with just one roll cut in half(perfect size for two people to share), beacuse otherwise my calorie count for the day would have been in trrrrrrouble. Totally getting this app again. I got a dish with crispy pork belly and chinese broccoli in a soy-based sauce, which was very tasty and probably a great option considering I’m *supposed* to be on my pre-wedding diet, heh, while my friend got a dish that came with papaya salad and like half of a grilled chicken! I didn’t know that grilled chicken was a thing in Thailand — the more you know! The chicken was a teensy bit dry on the inside, but when combined with the spice of the cold papaya salad and a bit of sticky rice? Yum! We also had a slice of the young coconut cake for dessert, and it was awesome. Not too sweet(like most Asian desserts, which is perfect as a palate cleanser!) with real chunks of young coconut on top. So light and refreshing! Sisters, I’m still a dedicated fan, and can’t wait to come back and eat my way through the rest of your Thai street food menu!

For a pre birthday dinner my friend and I ended up here for a nice quiet dinner. Upon entering the restaurant I was taken aback by the interior design. It looked like it was made for a coffee shop and not a Thai place. But none the less my friend and I were seated in the odd booth for one person and chair for the other. So when you get up your ass in someone else’s face. I guess good for some but others not so much. Also not quiet at all so talk loudly. My friend and I ordered two beers and fried spring rolls to share. The beer selection is strange as they had one Thai beer, beers from Oregon and a Japanese beer. Hint hint most places in Thailand carry Tiger beer and even though it is Singapore beer it is better than the oddly placed Oregon beer and Japanese beer. The spring rolls were cute and come in a container of four with carrot shavings on top. The spring rolls were delicious and would recommend. I ordered the jungle curry and was put off by the«soup» I received. While in Thailand I attended a cooking class and ordered jungle curry in other places in the U.S. and it was never in a soup form. Anyway, it was spicy how I liked it and I did enjoy it for that reason. Also why was their eggplant in it? I don’t think that is a Thailand use veggie. My friend liked her duck chef special dish. Maybe I should have ordered that? Would I come back? Hmm no thanks
