Pulmonary & Critical Care Specialis

I had 2 appointments at PCCS of NOVA for some sleep issues I was having. I was unimpressed and will find a different provider next time. During both of my 9am visits, I arrived on-​time and was brought back into the exam room only to wait for at LEAST 45 minutes in BOTH cases! The first time after 45 mins a nurse asisstant came in and grilled me for about 30 mins going over in detail all of the data I added to my medical history form, in PAINSTAKING detail. Part of me wondered why I even filled out the form in the first place if I had to step through everything again with the nurse. Some of the questions she was asking me also had nothing to do with my health which was a little concerning and finally I started answering with, «that doesn’t apply.» So after an hour and 15 minutes of my appointment time, the doctor finally arrived and asked me a few medical questions sprinkled in with lots of her personal stories and information that I wasn’t particularly interested in hearing given the fact that my appointment was already twice as long as I had expected.
During my second appointment, I was hoping that the first long wait time was a fluke. Well this time, I again arrived around 8:50 for my 9am appointment and was brought back into the exam room to be told «well the doctor isn’t here yet and there is one other patient before you but they shouldn’t take long.» Here we go again, I thought. 20 mins go by and another nurse comes in and says «the doctor said she’s wrapping up at the hospital and should be here in 15 mins.» Really? Finally, a solid HOUR after I had been brought into the exam room, the doctor arrived. I was thinking she would apologize or at least acknowledge the long wait, but that did not happen. Then, and this is the straw that broke the camel’s back, once the doctor finally arrived, about 10 mins in, her cell phone rang and she answered to take a personal call for about 4 – 5 mins. SERIOUSLY!!! It was unimportant (I know because she then gave me the whole backstory about the situation) and completely unprofessional. If it had been a medical emergency or family emergency, I would have understood, but in this case it was neither and was just disrespectful and rude. I will not be back.
