I’ve recently had the pleasure of trying Potbelly’s… However, with that being said at this particular location the guys there aren’t customer friendly. I have ordered twice once walk-in and they messed up my sandwich, so this time I decided to call to waive the wait in line and confusion on toppings. I was told it’ll take 10 – 15 mins to be ready for pick up. I get there 20 mins for p/u and waited over another 15 mins for my sandwiches, while everyone in line was being served first. I had to alert the cashier I was waiting for my called in order twice. Once finally receiving my order I asked the clerk what protocol saves on time being that you all promise to not wait in line more than 8 mins and both times I’ve been it has been well over 8 min wait and when told to the clerk he shrugged his shoulders and claimed«well there’s only three of us» well then that should’ve been stated on the phone when the order was called in to save on time due to a short lunch break. So what prompt me to write this review on this location, is the fact that after experiencing poor customer service I get to my job and pull my sandwich out and it’s not how I ordered! But now I have no time to go back, so they took their sweet time and still messed my order up, and to top it off very unsympathetic. Pick a different location bc they don’t care here!

I’ve always enjoyed potbelly. Good sandwiches and good milkshakes. I had a short 30min lunch break, and I knew this location was always slow so I knew I could easily get my food and dip. I got the Mediterranean sandwich with chicken, which was filled with lots of veggies but everything was too watery, making the whole sandwich soggy. I also got an oreo milkshake, which was thick and creamy. There’s a public parking lot right next to the place so finding a spot won’t be too difficult.

Customer service here is great. They’re very nice and seem to enjoy working here. I also liked the man playing the guitar to entertain guests. I hadn’t seen that in a Potbelly’s before. That made my visit happier and more enjoyable. My friend and the little boy I nanny for enjoyed it just as much as I did.

So I’ll start with the weird, which I would have found terribly annoying if I had dined in rather than took my food to go. There was an acoustic guitar player/singer. And the acoustics were working quite well meaning he was projecting very loudly. How anyone dining in could hear the person next to them if they were carrying on a conversation is beyond me. Otherwise, this was a great choice for a quick lunch! I have heard about Potbelly since I moved here, and I pass them very frequently in various locations, however, it wasn’t until today when I was actually near one around lunch time. It was about 12:30 when I stopped in and while the dining area was quite full, there was no line at the counter. I went very simple-the T-K-Y skinny on multigrain with L, T, O, P(ickles) and spicy brown mustard. If I dare walk through the doors of Subway, I usually order this same exact sandwich. The Potbelly version, while equally simplistic, was just(obviously) better on every level. Fresh sliced turkey, fresh bread, properly toasted on a conveyer belt as opposed to in the microwave. The only thing I would have changed was the amount of spicy brown mustard. I think the ratio of mustard to size of sandwich could have been more generous. Other than that, coupled with the friendliest service I have ever received from a chain sandwich shop, I think I found a winner! I was pretty tempted by the option of soup and skinny sandwich too and then those OMG shakes I’ve heard about-I’ll have to come back another time soon. Also, my sandwich came to less than $ 4.50 which price wise, is just about the cheapest I’ve seen, including at that«other» sandwich chain.

How was this the first time I ever went to a Potbelly’s?! This place was tasty. Everything sounded good so a friend and I decided to go halfsies on a chicken and cheddar and on a roast beef with provolone. Before we ordered, we were also offered samples of the pulled pork sandwich and the coconut pineapple smoothie(SOSOTASTY). Everything was perfect, fast, and not too expensive. For a sandwich, drink, and chips, it was just over $ 9.

I usually love Potbelly. I think their salads and sandwiches are delish and they move the line pretty quickly. I come to this location about once a week. If you order more than one item though something ALWAYS gets messed up. I’m almost tempted to go through the line twice next time for each order so I don’t bring my salad back to my office to find half the ingredients missing.

Food was okay considering the price. Shakes are marvelous. However, the employees can be hit and miss. When attempting to get toppings, one employee clearly said, «You deal with her, I don’t know sign language.» and another employee said something to that nature in response as well. Granted that I know everyone doesn’t know ASL, I told them that I can still read lips. Place is pretty well sized for seats but parking can be confusing, use the FREE parking garage and park on 4th floor for easy access.

Pot Belly has consistently good sandwiches but what set our visit apart today was an employee named Alex. He was so engaged and present with us during our transaction it made for an extraordinary visit. Good job Alex. Thank you.

Really not that great. The first time I went the food was fine but the service was very indifferent. Employees were distracted talking to each other. The second time I went I ordered a meatball sub. They took meatballs and sauce from a container sitting on the counter… not in a warmer. When I got it it was nearly cold. It was nearing closing time and it was obvious they had started cleaning up when I walked in. I have been to other Potbellys in Reston and near the Fairfax Government center that were very good. This one is definitely subpar!

I’m so surprised by all the terrible reviews on here. Absolutely surprised. The service was great and the girl that took my order was great. I ordered a «wreck on wheat with everything and hot peppers on the side.’ They even gave me 2 extra hot peppers cause I was telling the girl how I actually don’t eat them I use the juice. She was very nice and looked for the ones with the most hot pepper juice. Clean establishment and bathrooms are clean enough for a fast food sandwich joint. I mean… I wouldn’t lick the floors but a good pit stop before going elsewhere.

Normally okay; but yesterday got moldy provolone on my roast beef and since I had already returned to the office, I just had to toss it. Better locations elsewhere.

I am a Texas teacher who brings students to George Mason University for competition; every time we come to Fairfax we stop in at PotBelly. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed with great GMU memorabilia on the walls and there is always ample seating. The food is varied enough to satisfy most diets and allergy restrictions, and the employees have GREAT suggestions. The sandwiches and soups are very very tasty and they serve Izze sodas… um yes please! Parking in the area can get a bit frantic, so LOOKFORTHEFREEPARKINGGARAGE that connects to the little center that Potbelly is in. It makes getting in and out of that center an absolute breeze. Thank you Potbelly of Fairfax for always being a great choice. I will see you again next time we come to GMU!

4 stars for the chain overall. I’m from the west coast, we don’t have Potbelly over there, so when I’m out in this area, I try to go when I can because I normally like it. I’m eating paleo at the moment and happened to look online and saw that I could get one of their grilled chicken salads. I asked for no blue cheese(not paleo) and no candied walnuts(also not paleo)… I think the no candied walnuts request replaced the request for no blue cheese because when I got to my hotel, sure enough, there was blue cheese. For their part, the salad was well mixed, with ample amounts of fruit and chicken and everything else, it just wasn’t made as I requested which warrants the removal of one star. Otherwise they would have gotten 5 stars for prompt service, friendly attitude, and cleanliness of the establishment.

Potbelly’s has got be one of the best sandwich places around. The one in Fairfax is great! The service is very fast, everyone is friendly, and the place is very clean and inviting. There’s even a microphone for open mic nights/music/god knows what(I’ve never seen anyone use it). It’s also a little quirky with bookcases full of books decorating the wall. I go there to eat and study before class from time to time and enjoy my time there. When it comes to the sandwiches, you can’t go wrong here. I love to topple everything I get with hot peppers… the spicier the better! Top it all off with one of their delicious chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and you’ve just had one satisfying meal!

The sandwiches here are YUMMY! I found this place, purely by mistake. Initially, I wanted to try the Bollywood Bistro, around the corner. Sadly, they were closed for a private event. It was my first night in Fairfax, raining and late. Then, ‘lo and behold, I spy … POTBELLYSANDWICHWORKS! Though, I’m not a big fan of sandwiches, I was super hungry. Since it was really late, beggars can’t be choosers, right? The sandwich guy was super friendly. He explained to me how the menu and ordering worked. Based on his recommendations, I got the skinny wheat Italian sandwich, with everything but tomatoes. The gal who rang me up could have worked on her customer service skills. She just tossed the sandwich on the counter, to ring me up. Apparently, she was in a hurry, in an almost empty restaurant. But, whatever. My sandwich experience more than made up for it. Hot and toasted, the sandwich was fabulous. The deli meats were super fresh and melty in your mouth good. Eating the entire thing, with a bag of chips, I was happily stuffed. So, if you need a bite to eat, definitely bypass the Subway or Quiznos and visit Potbelly! Worth the extra money you fork out, but waaay better for your stomach.
