Amazing experience shopping here. I am a total perfume amateur and was looking for one for my wife. Arielle and Kate were extremely helpful in finding a subtle scent for my super-​sensitive nose. They came up with 4 spot-​on recommendations and then left me to figure out which one worked out best. I made my decision, after agonizing between a few of the scents, and they still gave me samplers of the non-​chosen scents for my wife to try as well. They are very knowledgeable about the brands and the ingredients. Great no pressure experience. Look forward to shopping there again in the future.

This place has really nice imported diffusers that don’t smell cheap perfume, within 5 minutes of using the diffuser in my apartment, my place smelled like an upscale hotel. I bought the Olive and Lavender diffuser which smelled pleasing to me.
I liked that the owner served me personally and gave solid advice. She did not make me feel pressured to buy anything or invade my personal space with overeager help or unnecessary perfume jargon, which I totally appreciate. (Looking at you, department store counter ladies/​dudes who follow me around and don’t let me have my peace to enjoy the smells)
With my purchase, she asked me if I would use the samples she provided (pretty cool, I hate asking the department stores for the freebies) and gave me a few eau de parfume spray samples when I looked like a deer caught in headlights. I did not spend a lot but she still wrapped my diffuser in tissue and placed the diffuser in a nice bag – without asking if I wanted a bag or wrapped. Well done.
This place definitely only sells high end aromas (non-​synthetic smelling) that are well worth the investment.
If one wanted to venture off the usual path and buy a bottle of a beautiful aroma, one can remain confident that the smell is unique and tasteful. You may not likely find a mass marketed popular cologne/​perfume here but that’s the point right – To have the ability to confidently purchase a uniquely amazing smell that inspires happiness, positive curiosity and admiration.
FYI, the eau de parfum samples do smell amazing.

A new place in the Mosaic District in Merrifield, Arielle Shoshana is THE place to get a scent that is a little bit different, a little bit more interesting than what you can get in the average shopping mall department store. The owner is knowledgeable and passionate about perfume. She is a pro at guiding you to learn what fragrance you actually like. I bought «Fou D’Absinthe» there a week ago, a woodsy scent, after telling her that I like citrus most. I am happy with my purchase.

I am so thrilled about this newly opened niche perfume boutique! Arielle Shoshana carries several lines not available anywhere else in the area, like Smell Bent, Neela Vermiere Creations, and Etat Libre d’Orange, as well as niche favorites you still often have to hunt for like L’Artisan Parfumeur, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, and CB I Hate Perfume. I was the proverbial kid in a very fragrant candy store! Plus, the staff was incredibly knowledgeable (all too rarely the case at department store fragrance counters) and very sincerely enthusiastic about great perfume – the store’s an obvious win for collectors, and at the same time, I’d think that if you’re new to fragrance and want some help finding something special, they’d be great for that too. Very friendly and happy to help out! Loved my first visit to the shop, can’t wait to go back.
