Althea Medspa and Laser Center

I first came to Althea MedSpa because I bought a Groupon for 6 sessions of laser hair removal on a small area. There are a ton of LHR Groupons, but through research I knew I needed a place that used either a Diode, alexandrite, or Nd: Yg laser, not IPL (which isn’t as effective). I also wanted a place with good reviews.
I narrowed my search down to a few places, and ended up picking Althea MedSpa because they’re pretty generous with the size classification of body areas. For example, underarms are usually considered medium areas, but here they are a small area. So while their pricing based on area is about on par with other budget-​friendly medspas, it can actually be significantly cheaper depending on what you want to get done.
Groupon brought me here, but the amazing staff keeps bringing me back. I’ve bought more LHR packages and have sent friends here as well. Mira is so nice and sweet, I immediately felt comfortable having her work on me. Scheduling is really easy; I’ve had to do a few last-​minute reschedules and they’ve always been more than happy to accommodate.
If you’re looking for a no-​frills place to get laser hair removal, I can’t recommend this place enough!

This place is a joke. I came out to get an ipl using my vacation hours cause there is only one staff working and she’s off when im off work too. So I had to come out on a monday and she said the ipl machine had been broken since friday. Oh really? Wasnt there anyone to call me and let me know so i wouldn’t have to waste my vacation on driving for nothing? Very unprofessional. Very much so. I was going to refer my friends to this place since they all waiting on me to tell them about the results but that won’t happen.

Very difficult staff. Called to set appointment and they asked us not to buy the Groupon, but they would honor the price as it’s better for them. Said sure. Set appointment. Had to cancel for unexpected reason so called to notify them. Few days later went to reschedule and now no appointments available for two weeks (for a 15 minute hair removal procedure) and requiring prepayment. Now glad we didn’t buy the Groupon as would have been committed to them. Wonder if Groupon knows they market against their contract? Just move on. Not worth dealing with bad customer service in a highly service oriented industry.

I found this place on Groupon for laser hair removal. I have seen great results, and would definitely recommend this place for laser hair removal. I think they’re normal prices are also quite reasonable. The staff is very friendly and professional. They are also very punctual.

found this place on groupon a while back, great place for a fat reduction treatment kinda high on price but worth it. Mira is great and will work with you on getting the results you need. the only thing i wish they would do is let present clients use the groupons that cheaper than the regular price, i mean you would think clients would stay more loyal and refer others. I even tried to reason with them about what i willing to buy, which was the groupon price for six treatments. The honestly need to work on some customer loyalty. Why wouldn’t you do that for a loyal customer?! Not faif at all really.

I have been going to Althea Med Spa for a few months now. I have received fat loss treatments on my thighs and have been very happy with the results. The staff is efficient, friendly and punctual.
I priced similar treatments at other salons prior to choosing Althea. The packages offered by Althea were significantly less expensive. The owner continues to offer great services at a great price even after I used the promotional coupon.
I am recommending to friends and family.

This was my first experience for laser hair removal, and it was great! The staff was very knowledgeable and very friendly. They made my visits extremely easy and comfortable. Highly recommend this place!

Mira, does a great job and I’m very happy with the services, the employees, the attitudes, and the prices. She’s been very kind in offering packages at good prices. I’ve had 3 IPL treatments on my forearms and a skin tightening session on my hands. I will be going back for 2 more hand sessions and then do fat reduction under my chin/​neck area.
While the location isn’t the best, it’s in industrial park area, I know they are doing that to keep the rent low so their prices can be lower. Fine with me. The décor is fine, not fancy, but it’s comfortable, clean, and everyone is happy and helpful. She even agreed to see me on Sunday to check on my skin and to provide some additional cream to use for the dark spots.
I will go back again and think they are very nice people.

Excellent results from lasers used to reduce chin fat. Saw the results in just 2 sessions. I also did two sessions of IPL and my freckles have lightened greatly. The staff is friendly and sweet and they really try and accommodate your schedule. Highly recommended.

Got a LivingSocial voucher for a photofacial at the Fairfax location. Scheduled it last week — so a week in advance. I received the email confirmation, and another email a few days later with my appointment details, and asking me to reconfirm my showing up for the service — which I did. So I arrived 45min early, because I don’t like to be late and I patiently waited in front of their Fairfax premises because the door was locked and there was no one there. I thought they might be opening late although it was weird that no one was there to set up for customers. Anyway, when after 10am there was still no signs of anyone, I called the number (same one from scheduling my appt). Some guy answered, was confused, told me that the office was going to be closed for a week. I — was — fuuuurious!!! He kept repeating he didn’t know how this happened, although he did see my appointment was there with the time and location I was at! I asked to talk to the managers, owners anyone responsible but he kept saying he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to reach anyone. I was stunned!!! Horrible customer service: the guy was more talking to himself, to his chin; apart from two «I am sorry-​s», I didn’t sense any comprehension of how upset I was. I told him I had prepaid for the service, and he said I should request my refund from LivingSocial! I took off from work to go there, lost time for nothing and I wasn’t even offered to reschedule (not that I wanted to). But there was nothing offered to resolve this situation. I was speechless…
With todays pace of life, business like this should be banished! I am not writing this review because I wasn’t served coffee, or water or the place looked one way or the other; this is very simple — Althea Med Spa is embarrassing for this industry and they shouldn’t be calling themselves professionals.

I can’t say enough about how great Althea Med Spa is for the services I’ve tried, and that’s a few. I’ve had laser hair removal, which worked very well, IPL, loved the results, and currently doing fat reduction, which is also going very well for the areas I selected to reduce. The staff are friendly and caring. They make you feel welcome and put you at ease. The prices are very reasonable, and the place is clean. Will keep coming back.
