Rowdy’s is your classic example of a small-​town favorite. It has the look and feel of a church basement and was packed to the brim on a Saturday night.
I had the reuben with tater tots. The reuben was the perfect size and salty, with just the right amount of meaty tang. The tater tots were a little overdone and seemed to have more breading in them than potato, though.
My mom had the Elephant Ear, or chicken-​fried steak (the dish for which Rowdy’s is known), which also had a little too much breading on it.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try the Mountain Oysters on the appetizer menu. I haven’t had them in a while but I would guess there is too much breading on those, too — although in that case, nobody’s complaining!

Excellent food. Small-​town atmosphere. Bar. Nice people.
