Great variety. Love the kids section! Employees are nice, but am surprised at the super casual dress code, very sloppy. I didn’t know who the customers were and who the employees were.

Purchased item online and called them to check what’s going on with the item. First call, «we are very busy and we need to check with the manager.» I let it go the first time. The second time i called, they make you hold on the phone, wasting your time and cut off your phone afterwards. The THIRD time i called, SHESAIDSHEISTHEMANAGER/OWNER!!! She was bullshitting the whole time. She said she has no paperwork. She got no information at all for my order. Later she bullshit the item is out of stock. Goodbye Prospector Outfitter. WORSTCUSTOMERSERVICE I HAVEEVERCALLED.

It’s the one stop shop for cold weather clothing in the great state of Alaska! They even carry Filson brand clothing which is pretty cool! They have everything and anything you could possibly think of for making your experience in Alaska more enjoyable, clothing-wise that is. :)

I spent most of the time at the sale racks — each department has one. Helpful staff, huge selection. Loads of sale items.

Terrible. Useless about local trail information. No maps. No books. Guy knew nothing about bear spray. Maybe it’s good for hunting, but for outdoor sports: worthless ;(

Decent selection. They have a great rewards program and the sales associates are extremely nice.

Being new to Fairbanks I needed help in finding a good store to frequent when the mercury dropped below zero. I was told Prospectors was a great place to go since they had a great selection. But I was warned to pay attention to the price tag. Between the prices which were high for Alaska to the two sales reps who were too busy texting to help me or my wife, it was a bad experience. I have never gone back and have found cheaper places in town that sell brands ike Patagonia and Columbia for ten to fifteen percent cheaper than Prospectors.

One of the better selections of cold weather apparel in Fairbanks. 3 floors of gear. It can get pricey so look out for sales. Dividend reward program is nice-can’t say no to saving money.

HUGE selection, much much bigger selection than the location in Valdez. I was able to find a Mountain Hardwear down jacket marked down $ 80, and some great Sorel boots for under $ 100. I can’t say that their prices are reasonable but I have found it’s hard to get a deal in Alaska. If you are looking for quality brand name gear and a really great selection, this might be a place you want to check out.
