Brewsters

This is about as close to an Applebee’s as you will get in Fairbanks. The food is decent but we have had waitresses grab our food in front of us before putting it on the table. Usually get a table and the food you order fairly quickly. Their cocktails are pretty good.

Fred was a great server. Friendly and attentive. The halibut was awesome. Will try again. Good choice.

Burger was decent, service not so hot today. Chefs apparently don’t read the Cook ticket. Things we added and items we requested to leave off the burger were all thrown the window. But the manager did discount the meal, -$ 1.00 for missing cheese. WOW, WAY TO COMPENSATE FOR YOUR LACK OF QUALITY. It took a manager to discount that much too. If you mess up, acknowledge it make it somewhat right…

Generally smells like a dish rag in here for some reason. Mediocre food on par with chain restaurants. Have been served skunky beer on more than one occasion. Saving grace on the few tomes we’ve had to dine here was the waiter. Polite, attentive and fast.

Open late till 11. Got a burger & waffle fries. Pretty standard but exactly what I wanted.

Great food, fast. and friendly service. My steak was cooked to perfection. The salad was crip and fresh. Service provided by Shevelle was outstanding. Food came out of the kitchen very quickly with a great presentation. If your in Fairbanks this is a must go to place to eat.

Servers are very tentative, great service and great food! I recomend highly going to this place. It is very cozy like your mom’s cooking.

This place was bland and over priced. The waiters were rushed causing the customer service to suck. We had never been here before, so I decided to ask the waiter what was good. He answered with a shrug of his shoulders and a confused look. That should have been a sign to get up and walk out.

Good food, good variety and very nice staff. Also open late :-)
The waffle fries are great.
My husband had the French dip and was impressed (he’s hard to impress).
I had a chicken sandwich that was really good.
The waitress was very attentive (I ended up giving her a 25% tip as she was so good). She didn’t hover, had great recommendations on the food and our drinks were always full
The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated.
Will most definitely be back.

Had one of the lunch specials yesterday. Worst food I have ever had at any restaurant. Had the grilled turkey and cheese. The cheese was sandwiched between the turkey and the TOMATOES. Needless to say, the cheese couldn’t melt and the tomatoes were cooked and the whole thing was a soggy mess. Ate half and told the waitress it was inedible, and she couldn’t have cared less. I won’t be going back.

We had a very nice gentlemen as our waiter today. (Airport way location) He was friendly and attended to our needs. Unfortunately it took almost 30 min for our food to come out (2 burgers and a kids chicken strips)
Burgers were dry and for $ 8 we got 2 chicken strips. Which was only $ 3 less then my burger. Seems a bit ridiculous.

My husband had a New York stake was super delish! And I had a Chipotle steak sandwich which was also amazing! Will totally come back and highly recommend this place. Btw they had great customer service

After completing a tour flight of Denali, after landing back at the airport, I was looking for something close to the airport and found Brewsters. Note, that while on Airport Blvd., there is a barrier between the street and a frontage road. So you will need to come in from a cross street.
Once inside, the place was kinda quiet with few people inside. Of course it was around 3 PM, sobI was between the lunch and Happy Hour crowd.
I sat at the bar and ordered a local IPA, Icy Bay and a jalapeño burger. Before my burger arrived, the group sitting at a booth behind me got their food and quickly sent it back, telling the server it was undercooked and ice cold! Since it was too late to bail on my food order, I started to think that perhaps that was the reason the place was empty. However, all my fears went away after trying my burger. It was warm, spicy hot and good. Served with waffle fries it was very filling.
So my visit was a pleasant experience and worry of four stars.

Good food, decent prices at this spur of the moment place to eat. A little loud, but we were seated right next to the bar and football game… Our server was friendly and attentive and our food was served surprisingly fast for how busy the place was. I had a nice halibut dinner-​hot, fresh and simply delicious… We left just as the larger evening crowd began to shuffle in, so yay for good timing! Would definitely eat there again.

We started with the cajun shrimp and they were my favorite part. Cajun spiced little shrimp that disappear quickly. Loved them. Burgers are good. I got the jalapeño burger and wasn’t crazy about something on the burger. I’m not sure if it was a spice or what. And it wasn’t as hot as I thought it was going to be. But it was a decent sized burger and the steak fries are awesome. My partner got the Brewster burger and really enjoyed it. We ended with a sundae and I thought they were going to have to roll me out of there. We’ll be back for more burgers.

I’ve never had a problem here. I recently got addicted to their halibut sandwich for $ 15 you get 4 big pieces of perfectly fried halibut with tomato and lettuce and plenty of tartar sauce it’s amazing! Hands down

We got re-​sat, initially. Thank God, because Jessica turned out to be our server. Super friendly, super knowledgeable; about the food and the wine. She exemplified service. Smiling, friendly, perfect timing. Just amazing. Now, the food. My daughter ordered medium rare steak and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered medium well, only after I told her how I wanted it and she said order only medium well. It was absolutely perfect! Great cut off meaty, cooked perfectly. I would add sour cream to loaded mashed potatoes, but I didn’t ask for it. They probably had it. A definite return visit during our short trip here!

We were looking in Unilocal for a good burger joint and decided to try here on our way to the airport. We were pleasantly surprised.
My husband had the bacon cheeseburger and he rated it a 9. I chose the ribeye dinner with mashed potatoes. My steak was cooked to my specifications which actually happens rarely (pun intended), however the potatoes were tasteless. I requested to change out for the waffle fries instead. Great choice! They were delicious!
Harley was an amazing server, only there 4 months he said. He consistently checked in on us even though he was the only server for the bar area.

Overall this place was pretty solid. Went on a Saturday night and the place was pretty calm. Servers were nice. I got the jalapeño burger with the chipotle mayo and it was a solid 8.5÷10. I love spicy food. Atmosphere was fine, music was perfect volume.
My only gripe is the serving size wasn’t big enough. This is America, we are obese and we need more food for the price to keep our caloric intake at ~6500 per day.

Went here on a Sunday a while ago and decided to check it out. I had been to this location only once and we were close so we decided to stop in and eat. The second time was awful!!! I can’t tell you about my food the second time because we never got a table. I guess they were so busy they chose not to acknowledge my husband and I? We waited around 30 – 40 minuets and there were open tables too (maybe the do reservations and those tables were reserved? I don’t know. I didn’t care to ask since the hostess didn’t care to communicate with us).
It was only us and one other couple and they waited just as long but got seated before us. We decided to give it a bit longer since we were next and we got eye contact from the waitress, just no customer service and again no table or no acknowledgement.
It annoyed me off so much for being ignored, I never want to go there again, I’d go to the other Brewsters on College because I get BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE, and I get treated like they VALUE my BUSINESS, they even ACKNOWLEDGE the customers that walk in the door. I don’t know why the one on college has worse reviews and I recommend that one over this one any day. Unless a group of people I was with or my husband wanted to go there. I won’t be returning to this establishment.
