I’d like to start out by saying that the staff was amazing, it was absolutely some of the best service I’ve had in Fairbanks. My dinner partner and I started with calamari, when we got it, it was pretty much inedible. It was like chewing on fried rubber. We told our waitress and she took it back, we didn’t ask for a replacement. My friend ordered the gyro for her entrée, it was okay, the meat wasn’t fresh– clearly frozen. I ordered a special, steak oscar, and I ordered my steak medium. When it came out and I cut into it the steak was so overdone it was completely grey. I had it sent back and when I got my replacement it was amazing. Really, really great. If it would’ve happened the first time I wouldn’t be leaving a review. I think we were a little overly optimistic when we decided to order dessert, baklava and blueberry crème brûlée. The baklava was pretty good but the crème brûlée was a joke. The sugar was so burnt I thought they’d put chocolate on top. It was black and 100% inedible. I didn’t say anything to the staff because I worried that I was being a pain. But the kitchen staff should know that it is unacceptable. The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because they left our desserts off the bill, which left me feeling guilty. I felt guilty just saying that the calamari was inedible, and I felt guilty sending the steak back, so they added more guilt my taking something that we didn’t mention off the bill. So, guilt had me add a star.

Trying to think of a place with food that can’t be messed up in anyway possible, Greek seems like a good idea! So we walked over to Bobby’s, staff were pretty friendly, they kept refilling our water without asking. The only problem is for what we’re getting food wise, it was pretty pricey. For their 12″ pizza it was close to $ 20 and we ordered their gyro sand which and that was another $ 10, it was good don’t get me wrong but geez! A little pricey!

Listen to the reviews… Lesson for myself. But this was the only place open at 10 pm the way we reached Fairbanks, so had no choice. Every dish is OVERPRICED. Pretty much every entrée is above or around $ 30.(Which I’m ok paying if food and service is good) Very small section of actual Greek food in entrée section for dinner(except Pizza and that’s not Greek food). So they have chicken for the bar tables but not for the dinner table. We had 2 babies so couldn’t sit at the bar(horrible hospitality and consideration for travels who just reached the city and have two 1yr old). The only good thing was the asparagus soup that came with the entrée(hence the 2nd star)

We tried lots of things on our first visit to Bobby’s. We started with the fried cheese which always such a great treat. It’s so hot and cheesy and just good. But we couldn’t pass up the hummus as well so got that too. We ended up taking half of it home but I ended up using it on wraps for my lunch the following week! The beef shish kabobs were great! Tender meat with lots of veggies all around the plate. I helped my partner pick at all of it until we finished it. Neither of us really enjoyed the bland, mushy rice, however. I got a veggie pizza and wasn’t that impressed. For their«second to none» claim, I thought it would be to die for but I found the crust too tough and the toppings just lack luster. I’ll stick with the kabobs next time we go.

Had wonderful service but didn’t enjoy the food and had an extremely long wait for our food. I don’t think it was worth the value at all and do not plan on returning or recommending it to people.

Well I receive the Halibut(fish and chips). The fries were fries… the Halibut was missing, not literally, just chicken finger size pieces. I expected more for being here and in Alaska. Good environment and over priced.

Ate lunch there. Never had Greek before, except an occasional Gyro. Tried several things including the appetizer sampler. Was great. Great staff. Very pleasant and fast service. Traditional Greek surroundings. Right downtown.

Always good food. Went on Valentine’s Day and the full restaurant was handled very well. Our waitress was also very kind and more than willing to explain what some of the menu items were

The thing is, I kept going back, but for all the wrong reasons. Location, location, location — right? I always run into friends here, and ironically we all feel the same way — this place blows. The service is appalling. It takes for. ever. To get anything! The drinks are weak, and if you ever get your food, it’s only okay. The menu is pretty spendy, which is typical for downtown, and would be okay if the service wasn’t so disappointing. Bobby himself is a doll, and usually there. The atmosphere is awesome and the bathrooms are EPIC! Truth? If it weren’t for the stellar location and the bomb bathrooms — Bobbys wouldn’t have lasted this long. Sadly, my friends and I have sworn the place off and meet at Lavelle’s instead.

Best meal I have had since being in Fairbanks. Staff is very friendly, and provided great service. The owner even came by and spoke with me for a few minutes. He gave me a free desert! The restaurant itself is a bit of a throw back to a different time; they still have a smoking section! Great place; will né back before I leave.

A bit overpriced, but the hand cut steaks are excellent. 35 $ excellent? I’m not so sure. Friendly service.

They do not use actual lamb for their gyros, that killed it for me. Additionally, the chicken special dish I got was dry and the rice was bland. I will try it again and get a different dish, but my first experience did not impress me.

I love Bobby’s Downtown! Not only is the food absolutely delicious, their beer selections are wonderful and their service is fantastic. They have these carrots and potatoes that are absolutely melt in your mouth. My family went to Bobby’s last night for a «see-you-soon» dinner because my husband was going on mission. I ordered the prime rib au jus and my husband ordered the ribeye. My son had the pita pizza and they were wonderfully accommodating in making chocolate milk for him to drink, too. My prime rib was top notch and was so generous I had to give half of it to my husband, which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. To finish we had coffee and the baklava, which for me is a real treat, thanks to being a native New Yorker. Thank you, Bobby’s, for the lovely evening. We’ve been here many times before and will be back again!

My family and I came here for lunch the service was mediocre at best, continually had to ask for my drink to be refilled. Did not like seeing the staff sitting at bar smoking. When our food was brought out our 3 year olds spaghetti was so hot it was still boiling and burnt my wife. The food quality was good and my wives rueben was good probably the beat in fairbanks. The bathrooms were nice

In town for work and everyone was saying if you want a great steak go here. I waited at the bar for 40 mins for a drink and then another 40 minutes for my food. It was very loud and busy and there was only one bartender. I paid $ 35 for a NY steak and it was okay nothing special. I have gotten better steaks at a chain restaurant for half the price. Not worth it.

This wasn’t out first choice to eat our first time in Fairbanks… We went to a Italian place across the street from this place, they were slow jus to get out drink order so we got up and came here. We open the door and heard live music and knew already made the right choice… Right away we got served and the waiter was very very attentive. We had our dinner which was awesome or atleast mine was. My husband order a chicken Alfredo entrée which was too heavy for his liking and I ordered a prawns. I went to the ladies room and I gotta say, I have never seem anything like it the each stall had it’s own sink in it and it was a vibrant red … Someone really took the time into detail … Overall for a restaurant in Fairbanks in Downtown I am impress. Will come back and recommend it

I came here while in Alaska on my honeymoon. Being a vegetarian there aren’t a whole lot of options in AK, so when my husband and I saw there was a Greek place we figured we should check it out. So yes, this place is a bit pricey. However the food is really good, authentic and high quality, and the portions are HUGE. We split the spanakopita and one of the pizzas. We took ½ the pizza home and had the rest for dinner. So, for lunch(including a Manhattan and 2 beers) it was about $ 65 or $ 70, but that was for two of us and we had both lunch and dinner from that. If this place was in NY I would have only given it 3 stars, but good for AK to have some ethnic diversity that’s good quality!

Oh, man, I was SO happy to find a decent Greek place in Alaska… until I saw the prices! The food is absolutely delicious, but the amount they want is outrageous. The customer service was also lacking. I probably would not return if I went to Alaska again.
