I have suffered from acne since my early teen years. And, I don’t mean a pimple or two… I mean really bad, painful acne. I have used everything from changing birth control (I apologize for the TMI), doctor prescriptions and Proactive Solutions. Now, Proactive worked for about four or five years and it just stopped and the acne came back. I was sent an email from a colleague advertising for her esthetician friend at a new salon in Folsom. She was providing a 50% discount for a one hour facial. I had been thinking about getting a facial for quite some time, so I decided to make an appointment and give it a go. We all deserve a little pampering! Let me just say, it was one of the best decisions of my life. Annette has completely changed my skin.
She is located inside the DeLa Muse Hair Salon in Folsom. It’s a little bit of a jaunt for me, but worth every mile. Her room is very calming with neutral colors and the speakers play soothing music or the sound beach waves. In the middle of your facial, you will be treated with a hand and foot massage and a neck massage towards the end of your treatment. I can also tell you that you won’t leave with a red face that looks like it had just been picked at. I have been able to meet friends for dinner after my appointments.
I was apprehensive when my appointment was over, knowing this would be the time that she would try and sell me all of the products she used on me. I had been suckered into this in the past and wouldn’t fall for it again. But, to my surprise, she did no such thing. She asked how I felt and if I wanted to book my appointment now or wait until I was ready. This triggered me to ask about the products used. She recommended a cleanser, serum and moisturizer. I was also surprised that the products used and recommended were not expensive. They were very reasonably priced to other product lines. I purchased one of the recommendations each time I returned. I wanted to make sure each one was working, before I invested in another one! The fact that the process of taking care of my skin was simple made it easy for me to take a new appreciation for my skin.
I will never forget during my first or second appointment, Annette told me that my face should feel like a baby’s butt. I had felt my skin (blackheads and clogged pores) and did not think that this would EVER be possible. Within three appointments with Annette, she wasn’t kidding. My skin started to change. I have been a regular client of Annette’s for the past year and a half. I used to never leave the house without make-​up. Today, I don’t even hesitate walking out the door with just moisturizer and mascara. My skin has changed and Annette continues to work with me to make it that much better.
I will give up my Starbuck’s habit before I give up my facials!!! Yes, it’s that serious!!! Annette is awesome and she will have you hooked with one appointment.
