You just can’t beat this place! They have great subs at great prices. The sub rolls are amazing! The pizza is great too! And it’s a family run business, everything is home made and fresh. Great place!

If your in Fair Haven skip Subway which is a few doors down and try Fair Haven Pizza House which the locals lovingly refer to as Lucy’s. Great grinders made on homemade bread with hot and cold choices. Huge calazons and other italian specialties. Worth a try

We ate at Fair Haven Pizza and Subs and had one of the worst Italian meals ever. At first entering this restaurant one sees an entire wall filled with unframed faded, decayed photographs of unknown people, perhaps photos of deceased patrons who consumed the food at this restaurant? We ordered two side salads with the house«Italian dressing» — corn oil and red wine vinegar. The salads emerged as two huge mounds of bland iceberg lettuce with tasteless thinly sliced onions, and topped with mounds of cheap tasting mozzarella cheese. How the heck can anyone possibly ruin a salad? We knew knew we were in trouble after tasting one bite of our dinners. I had a pizza that had absolutely no flavor. The sauce tasted like a can of tomato paste was smeared over non de script dough topped with more tasteless cheese and meatballs that had no flavor what so ever. My dinner companion had a eggplant sub that consisted of soggy wet gray mounds of eggplant that would make a corpse seem less dead. surrounded by an non toasted soggy piece of bread that matched the rest of the food… tasteless. I ended up leaving half of my pizza on the table with the owner/manager being surprised that I didn’t want to take it home with me. My dinner mate was more polite and did not want to offend the owner so he took half of his sub home. To get the bad food taste out of our mouths we asked for two coffees only to be told that they don’t serve coffee! I then proceeded to a gum ball machine and purchased two gum balls that were petrified and tasted like they were found in some historic excavation. On a less traveled Vermont road, we opened the car window and threw the sub out into a cow field. I fully expect tomorrow to see a dead cow or dead crows lying in the snow after attempting to eat this horrible meal. I honestly felt saddened at writing this review. This restaurant is located in a struggling small town and I really wanted to be able to say nice things about it. Unfortunately that was not the case. Other than the restaurant having a lovely period tin ceiling, I would advise people to stay away. Ironically this place did have patrons, but given the fact that pizza places in this rural community are few and far between, they must have captive audience. Next time I will just keep on driving to the Fair Haven Inn where I know the food is always delicious.

Just ate here yesterday and I was blown away — their turkey bacon sub is the most amazing sub I have ever had. They use real turkey and bacon and some stellar home made sub rolls which really are the star of the show.

I can’t believe I had to move to VT to get the best pizza I have ever had! If I closed my eyes and tasted the Italian sauce, I would swear it was my Moms. Last night my husband and I bought the Sicilian pie with sausage and meatballs. It was enough to feed a HUNGARY family of four, maybe five. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for Italian food. Its the best! Trust this 100 percent Italian reviewer!
