Fair Haven Hardware

This is a hardware store out of my childhood — old fashioned, yet au courant. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. Since I discovered this store, I rarely go into a box store any more — only for the rare item this store doesn’t carry…

This is an old fashion hardware store with good old fashion service. They have just about anything you can think of and you are in and out in five minutes! They even rewire lamps. Most of the large home improvement stores are like malls and it can take you a few hours to find something, if you are lucky enough to find someone to help you out.
You must try this gem of a store. You’ll be impressed on so many levels.

This is a great small town hardware store. They always have what I am looking for and are really friendly and helpful.
We recently purchased a grill from this store. They assembled the grill and delivered it to our house.

Excellent selection, friendly knowledgeable staff that is very helpful with ideas on do it yourself projects as well as advice on hardware items. We’ve bought everything from Weber grills to five cent o-​ring washers there (they comped the washers:).
Just today, I went in and the owner took me through the many options for replacing my garden hose sprayer nozzle. I also needed to replace a garden soaker aka hose «wand.» That unit I researched thoroughly on the Web and purchased from Amazon. Although it was touted as a premium, long-​lasting durable product, it failed after two summers of light duty.
Fair Haven Hardware suggested I replace both the nozzle and wand with Dramm products. From the first second I attached them to my hose and used them, it was obvious that they were several cuts above the units they replaced in terms of utility, build quality and performance.
Fair Haven Hardware also has a fantastic paint department. I like it because it carries Benjamin Moore paints, including their environmentally responsible brand, and because I get great Brasilian music tips from the resident paint specialist.
In a nutshell, what I like about this place is that although it does the vast majority of its business with professional contractors, the staff is always super about helping a newbie like me tackle repair projects around the house and buy the right hardware for use in my home and yard.

You can find just about anything you need at Fair Haven Hardware, and the prices are very competitive. No need to go to H-​D or L’s. Save gas, buy local. This has been a family-​owned business for years and years, and you’ll get the kind of personal assistance that you just won’t find anywhere else.
