Closets By Design

Just moved into our new 3 bedroom condo with fabulous closets designed by Brian Magee (absolutely the best!) and just loving them. Really maximizes limited space and they are beautiful to look at as well. The design and order process was clear and easy and the installation occurred on time as planned. Really couldn’t say enough good things about my experience with this company in general and Brian Magee in particular. If you are considering new closets you should definitely contact Brian!

I had a closet done by this company three years ago. It is exactly what I wanted, the consultant knew what she was doing and it only took one day for the installation. I’m still happy with it and know that the cost was a bit more– but it was worth it because it was hassle free

After a few days I received a phone call from management and they exceed my expectations in making sure all my needs were met. Within two weeks I had new closet locks installed and additional shelving. Again the one thing I will say is when working with the designers make sure all your requests are written down. Company management is great. They def go above and beyond to make sure customers are well taken care of.

I recently had Closets by Design come to my house to help design a closet for my bedroom. The designer was clueless! I pretty much made all of the suggestions and came up with the ideas/​visions myself. He also needed prompting from me to measure certain areas of the closet and had to rewrite the price quote 3 times! (each time he did it, he got a different price). He finally had to call corporate to help him settle on the correct price. I also had a coupon code from a Closets by Design pamphlet and was told that I needed ‘approval’ from headquarters in order to use it (the designer couldn’t explain to me why this was the case). When the price quote was FINALLY decided upon, the designer expected a check. I told him that I wanted to get quotes from other companies and wasn’t ready to pull the trigger. He was so insulted and stormed out of my house within 1 minute. He left so fast that he forgot to pack up his tape measure and pen!
The lack of professionalism and creativity from the Closets by Design designer was appalling. He made my decision NOT to use them easy!

I recently took advantage of a 45% off coupon (plus free installation) for a custom closet by Closets by Design. The are very overpriced for the quality of product.
The design consultant was professional, as were the installers. However, our closet room which is about 8 feet long by 6 feet wide came to $ 4,800 ($ 2,700 with the 45% coupon + extra 10% off for booking right then and there). We picked the basic material — White. We did not ask for any custom shelves or drawers … just closet rods & shoe shelves. We were shocked when we realized the material was exactly the same as Closetmaid in Home Depot, which was a small fraction of the price or even Ikea, which had the same material and shelving for pennies on the dollars we spent.
I recommend quoting a few different places before committing to any closet designer. Unless you’re going super duper high end with your closet, I would stay away from Closets by Design. Their basic design is very costly & it looks no better than Closetmaid or Ikea.
