Super nice and accomodating. I have several food allergies and they not onky accommodated me but the manager also offered to change a menu item to fit into my restrictions and then stood in the kitchen to make sure my food was safe for me to eat. The roasted corn appetizer is spectacular.

We go regularly and are always happy. The servers are always friendly and the food good. I see too many reviews about it not being authentic Mexican. I don’t care. I’m in Exeter, NH. We have the rewards card and seem to always be getting money taken off the bill.

After reading the reviews, against my better judgment I decided to give them a try(was within walking distance to my hotel). I sat at the bar and I have to say, either they read the Unilocal reviews or they are aware of the service issues. It was a Wednesday night and the bartenders were on their game, they made drinks(mostly margaritas) with passion and precision. The food was delivered in a timely manner and was just ok, but as expected for a multiple location Mexican joint. I think many of you have elevated expectations of what this place is, good drinks and okay food, if you want great Mexican, find a mom and pop shop with grandma cooking. If you find yourself in or near Portsmouth NH and want a good drink and okay Mexican sit at bar and enjoy.

We had Lucy K tonight, she was awesome. I recommend the naked jalapeño marg. I got the From the Land tacos and they were falling apart, but still good.

Not a fan of the Exeter margaritas at all. My husband and I recently moved to Exeter from Plaistow. We had frequently gone to the Salem NH location and the new Methuen MA one… Wow what a difference. The service at the Exeter location was sooo much worse than the others. We tried it 3 times hoping for an improvement. Nope. Still awful. We ended up making the drive to methuen instead of going right up the street. Service was slow, impersonal and orders wrong at the Exeter location.

For only the 2nd time a group I was with was disappointed in our favorite stopping place after a meeting. Very slow service, food didn’t come all at once. 2 people ordered Fajitas, 1 got her food with none of her condiments or tortillas to be able to eat it. It was several minutes as her food sat there. The other didn’t get her Fajitas for a full 5 minutes later. 1 members food was not the same as she always get, less ingredients. New cooks? Short staffed in the kitchen? 2 weeks ago I ran into the same thing with family. 2 members finally got their meal as the rest of us were ½ way through ours. AND when I got my change back from paying cash I got the dollar bills BUTNOTTHE49 cents in change. I brought up to the waiter and he said it was their policy to round up or down if under 50 cents? What! Legal? So tip was 50 cents less! Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Just left Margs after giving it a second shot. We’re sat by the hostess after she stared at the table seating looking for an open table. Mind you the place is empty. 10 mins later no server yet to even get a glass of water. Someone should truly look into the reason why they are empty on most days. Management and corporate should be ashamed of this establishment. Should be given no stars.

So disappointed stopped in for a late lunch 1:45 it wasn’t busy. We were seated and given drinks right away and it all went terribly after that. Party of 6 we ordered our food and it took so long we were starting to consider asking for all of it to go, we opted to stay but one of the meals was totally wrong we were not upset, however by this time we were not able to wait for the correct dish. I asked for the check our waitress handed me the itemized bill for a different table as it was only 36.00 I brought it to her attention. I gave her my card and said we were in a rush. She returned my card with the payment slip and I added a 20% tip. She did not add the itemized check so I asked for it before I left. She totally charged us for the meal she took away that was incorrect. The hostess ask if I wanted the manager and I said yes but after a few minutes I just had to leave. What should have been a nice relaxing lunch ended as an anxiety filled disaster. My fish tacos that I shared with my daughter were excellent.

I would like to give it less than 1 star but alas I cannot. Arrived this evening around 7:10. We were seated right away since there were plenty of empty tables. After 15 minutes sitting there not one person came over to us. People that came in after U.S. Had immediate attention. The host sat other tables around us and still no one. We finally walked out after 20 minutes. The place was NOT busy at all. It is a shame since Margaritas used to be one of our favorites. We gave up going since the last few times we went the food quality had diminished. Better food down the street at Las Olas. No more Margs for us!

Nice Tex-Mex chain; not an authentic Mexican menu, great salsa and good chili relleno. Also liked the taco, enchilada and burrito plate. Maybe try the house margaritas. The restaurant is decorated with a crazy Mexican motif.

Always a good time meeting up with coworkers after. Brandon is the best and so much fun. The food is great and the drinks are even better. You have to try a naked lime margaritas and the hectors quesadilla appetizer

The service continues to get worse with each visit. Food is nothing special and portions appear to be getting smaller. Cross the street and go to Mexico Lindo instead and get the real deal.

It’s not authentic Mexican, but as far as NH goes, who can really tell? There was a location a short distance away from my home in NJ that closed down because I think this stereotypical watering hole just doesn’t work in places where there are actually people from Mexico. Enough knocking of the cartoonish theme, the food here is actually prepared very well, the staff is friendly and knowledgable and the establishment is CLEAN. Working in restaurants for 10 years you learn what to look for, and they know what they are doing here. I recommend this place for a casual sit down meal or beveraging. Oh, and I also noticed, mariachi music in the dining room, pop music in the bar… I think even the operators know that there’s a shade of tacky in the concept

My first ever 1 star review, and it’s well deserved. The service was inept and they were dangerously careless with a gluten allergy. Full story: We came here on a Saturday night for a wedding after party. This place was walkable from our hotels, and made sense. Everyone was feeling great after a wonderful night. We had about 30 people coming, but just 4 of us arrived ahead of the others. We informed our waitress that there would be many more coming, that everyone was hungry, and that they should prepare. But since we were there first, we would sneak our orders in ahead. I ordered a taco plate, but asked for one taco swapped out. This would haunt me later when they just couldn’t wrap their heads around the fact I wanted an Americano taco instead of steak. My GF is gluten free due to a serious allergy and asked if their chips and tacos contained any gluten. The server said no, so she ordered chips and salsa and a fish taco. The other 26 people arrived and all was going smoothly. Until our waitress came back to retake or order. It was as if she had forgotten everything. That’s fine. Maybe she’s new, maybe they’re slammed. All was forgiven until our order was taken a third time, for the sake of generating separate checks(something they initiated). Still, we laughed it off. Wedding night, no worries. Fast forward 45 minutes. The 26 others are receiving their food and drinks. Still no sign of my tacos or those a friend had ordered. I had also ordered a Pepsi that never came. Our order is taken a fourth time. Now we’re annoyed, but it’s more of a joke than anything. A minute or two later, taco plates come out for us. But they are not at all what we ordered. They take them back promising to fix it. At this point my GF gets her fish taco, and they verbally confirm it has a gluten free shell when they hand it to her. It’s now an hour after we ordered, literally everyone else is eating and some are done, and my taco plate arrives. I take a bite, and it’s cold. I’m not talking«sat out on the counter too long» cold, I’m talking«we took this meat out of the freezer and didn’t nuke it long enough» cold. I took a few bites because I was very hungry at this point but couldn’t bring myself to eat more than that. They saw I had barely touched the plate and apologized. My good humor was being tested. So at this point we have bad service, wrong order, and cold gross tacos. But that wasn’t the end. My GF tells me her stomach doesn’t feel well. I make my way to the waitress station and ask again if the fish taco is gluten free, assuming at this point it was likely they screwed that up too. A look of dread filled her eyes and she ran in the back to ask. The fish tacos are NOT gluten free. They served them to us verbally confirming the shell was gluten free, but failed to think of what was in the taco. Careless, and reckless. They apologized profusely, but the damage was done and 24 hours of stomach pain was in the forecast. They said they wanted to make it right and took our address. One guess as to how… THEYSENTUS A $ 20GIFTCARDFORMARGARITAS. Unbelievable! What an insult. As if we’re ever going back to this or any other Margs. A simple apology note would have been fine. I didn’t even mention how they screwed up our checks too. Just an epic failure.

This is a very good restaurant chain. They have great Mexican food here, and the salsa is very yummy. They give you a warm nachos and salsa while you wait for your food. Margaritas also has good sales on alcoholic drinks occasionally. Most of their alcoholic mixed drinks seem to be on the stronger side. The wait staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Management really does seem concerned if you are enjoying your restaurant experience. The atmosphere is colorful, vibrant, and just overall fun to look around. They actually have very good coffee there as well. I would however stay away from the sprite fountain drink, it kind of tastes like tap water. They have some very nice vegetarian dishes. Overall I would definitely recommend margaritas. they have some very nice vegetarian dishes. Overall I would definitely recommend margaritas.
