Awesome little coffee shop! Met friends here a couple times while in town and it was a perfect place to grab a coffee and chat for a little bit. Service was always great!

When I first walked in the warm spices they use for the drinks filled the shop. Quite intoxicating. We ordered an Americano, a latte, and two small egg sandwiches from a very nice young man. The Americano was smooth and the boyfriend’s latte is the best he’s had, it even came with a Christmas tree foam!
Egg sandwiches were simple but delicious. The eggs were fluffy and went well with the cheese. They even added tomato which was perfectly salted.
It was fun admiring the artwork on the walls and seeing all the folks just hanging out, especially on the floor seating! Cozy, chill and quality café.

This is one of downtown Exeter’s best hidden gems. All the drinks, ranging from fresh drip coffee to home-​made chai, are quality and delicious. If you’re a coffee or tea lover, this is the place for you.
While there aren’t many food options, the baked goods are locally made and are pretty tasty. They’ve also just added more to their menu!
The atmosphere of this place is great. There’s a seated cushion area on the floor that’s ideal for kids. It’s the type of place where you can hunker down for a few hours and get some work done, or the perfect little coffee shop to meet a friend. The only downfall is the lack of space. The tables can feel a little cramped when there’s a long line, and it’s not really the kind of place you can go if your party is bigger than two. To-​go, however, is always a good option!

Yesterday was my first time here — first time driving through Exeter for that matter. Charmed by the town, and very pleased with my coffee stop here. Friendly service. Ambience of a typical cozy little independent coffee shop. I tried the Mexican mocha. Not sure I would order it again, but only because it turns out chile in my coffee is not my thing. I could still appreciate it for what it was — a perfect blend of smooth espresso, milk, sweet chocolate and spicy chile. The spice doesn’t hit your tongue at all. You don’t notice it until you swallow and your throat starts a slow gentle burn. After my order, I spent more time checking out the menu. They have NH maple syrup you can add to your coffee. Can’t tell you how happy this makes me as I do this at home and have NEVER seen it in a coffee shop. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that I they made an error with my order. Gave me the smaller 12 oz size when I paid for the 16 oz., but not to worry. I will be back!

This place is awesome. Talk about quality coffee, this is it. Dan the owner is amazing and clearly loves what he does. I’ve never learned so much about coffee and the process that goes into the perfect cup. Really cool place to relax and hang out and its perfectly located in downtown Exeter.

Been in the area 5 days and had bad cappuccinos at 4 different places in Portsmouth. We finally went to D Squared and it is definitely worth the short drive. We had great cappuccinos made perfectly. We will be back.

Totally digging this place. Terrific cappuccino, booch (kombucha) on tap, and super friendly service… seriously can’t go wrong. I only wish Exeter was a little more convenient for us!

I was finally able to make the drive to taste their infamous nitro brew but the tap wasn’t working or it ran out, so I opted for a cold brew instead. I overheard an employee offer the woman who ordered a nitro brew before me a free one next time. Sadly, I didn’t get the same offer. They did offer us a free kombucha sample but it just didn’t have the same appeal.
The cold brew was full bodied and cold. The atmosphere and people watching is prime, although space is somewhat limited. There is a cool floor pillow seating area by the front window, but there were a lot of black flies buzzing around and their unlucky counterparts, were stuck to the tape roll on the windowsill. Eew!

In from out of town, cool little joint with a great atmosphere and fantastic service.

now i’m still a total fan here, and i sure appreciate the fact that now d squared offers up two vegan cupcakes and a vegan cinnamon roll. v. exciting.
sadly, the first cupcake was incredibly stale and thus was basically like rubbery rock. i mean, yes, i ate it cuz that’s the kind of girl i am, but i didn’t enjoy it.
when i went back for a second try, i specifically asked for a fresh cake, and instead of getting one of the ones on display, i was presented with one from the fridge, which was not only fresh but tasty.

Recently moved back to the area after spending 8 years in Dallas where there is a thriving coffee culture. I was worried my days of really good coffee were over. Man was I wrong. This place is doing it right. They’re not just serving coffee, they’re doing art.
Not only is the coffee incredible, but the shop is a great place to hang out and get some work done or visit with a friend. Good seating options. Good ambiance. I love the standing desk in the front window.
What a joy to have a place like this here in Southern NH!

Such amazingly delicious coffee and knowledgable & friendly staff. They know what they’re doing. Their lattes and other espresso drinks are so smooth and nutty … Irresistible. And they make their own syrups from scratch for flavored drinks, mochas, etc. Worth every penny.

Slow, inattentive staff spends more time chatting on the phone than attending to customers. This place is overdosing on cuteness at the expense of taking care of customers. It may be a good option for patrons whose coffee beverages take 20 words or more to communicate. Less needy typescan do better elsewhere.
After waiting a Long time for my order to be taken, and then waiting another eternity for them to make my coffee it was barely proper serving temperature. When I mentioned it I was informed in a snooty matter that this is the way it should be done.

I adore this shop — the gluten free options are wonderful and the coffee is the best!

Awesome coffee. I don’t know if he works there or if he’s the owner, but one guy who’s always there is a total dick.

So far this has been the best coffee I have had in NH. My friend had peppermint tea that was especially strong and fragrant and she also bought a gluten free dairy free granola bar that was quite delicious as well. The atmosphere was clean and cozy and the service was satisfactory. But the coffee. OMG the coffee. I’ve been raised on some of the best around and have sought long and hard to find a decent breve since leaving my home state and this place hit the mark.

Best. Cappuccino. Evar. D Squared is the perfect coffee shop for a coffee shop ambiance. This is no chain store where you walk in, speed order, and leave. This is where you order a beverage made just for you and you take a seat, slow down, and enjoy. That is, if you can bear to drink the beautiful cappuccino that is ALMOST too pretty to drink.

Perfect temperature for drinks. Went with family to get get a chai and some hot chocolate and there was no way we could have burned our tongues. The place is near and presentable, and smells really good too! Very great first impression. They definitely love their chai and spices.
