Teddy’s Bigger Burgers

It was a Tuesday. The date… June 7^th. I was feenin for a burger, but didn’t really know what I wanted… y’know, those kinds of days. Then I walked in… and everything came together, it was like the planets aligned… food quality & taste, service and cleanliness… the perfect dining experience with my perfect company! True, it’s just a burger joint, but it satisfied all expectations!
Popped into Teddys in Ewa Beach with some co-​workers for lunch. Let me just say… Teddy’s was on point. The place was busy, but it was clean. The employees were walking over to guests, making sure everything was good, and offering to clear trash for them. The cashiers were friendly and polite, the best customer service I’ve had in a while. A male and female were both at the counter (I can’t remember her name, but his was Justin). I rarely make it on this side of the island, but for the service… I would make this my go to whenever I am.
I ordered a kids burger (ordered it medium rare, bc I knew the patty would be smaller, and they would probably end up cooking it medium to medium well, which it did — which I was fine with), wrapped in lettuce (no bun) and added crispy jalapeños (the crème de la crème chili-​pepper-​poppin addition that made it awesome). There were lots of pickles, which I normally don’t like, but it was delicious. Everything was. My kids burger meal came with a side of fries (hot and seasoned) and a small drink to fill up at the fountain. Justin brought over two different types of sauces for me, which was great (one a little spicy and one a little sweet). I tried both, but prefer to dip my fries in ketchup or mayo (Best Foods, please… which they had in packets behind the counter).
All in all, a wonderful, memorable dining experience at a local food spot, that will keep me coming back. Great job! Oh… and no pics. I devoured every little morsel immediately.

Teddy’s is a favorite of mine on the island. I love their burgers, buns and special sauce. They have many options to build a burger. Also I love their seasoned tots! Milkshakes are always handmade and delicious. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because the wait is usually long. But they do offer a call ahead service.

Visited here twice in the past 2 weeks. Got the bacon and bleu cheese bigger burger combo with umami fries.
Burger was awesome! Umami fries were salty.
Next visit was actually a takeout order. My gf picked up a pastrami sandwich with onion rings and a peanut butter shake. This time the pastrami was on point! Lots of delicious golden brown onion rings and the shake, pure awesomeness! I’d come just for the shakes!

For what it is… It’s better than Burger King! Hot fries, tots and onion rings. No need to say how you like your burger-​they all come out well done and a little too cold and dry. Staff is friendly and the place is clean! Will come again because I appreciate the staff effort!

I think I’ve been to all of the Teddy’s Bigger Burgers on this island (insert piggy emoji here lol)… And this location has the best customer service!
Teddy’s Bigger Burgers are known for the obvious, aswell as their shakes and fun flavored fries. I was in the Ewa Beach area and decided to try this new location out.
Immediately when we walked in, we were greeted by the workers. This location is quite smaller than the other restaurants… There were about ten booths (if I’m remembering correctly). Very clean establishment. Tables were being wiped clean by workers as other customers left, no food on the ground and the staff looked well-​groomed.
I ordered the chicken bacon ranch salad. The chicken was a deep fried chicken breast served hot and crunchy… Yum! The salad itself was fresh… I could tell that they chop up their veggies instead of using those bagged premixed salads that anyone could get at Costco or Safeway. My daughter had their kid’s meal: chicken tenders with fries and apple sauce. She enjoyed the chicken and the fries… However, I noticed that we weren’t given the apple sauce. I would have asked for the apple sauce (since I paid for it) but my daughter was no longer in the mood for apple sauce. So, it was all good on our end!

30 minutes to wait for a milkshake is unacceptable. I noticed their system of handing out orders is broken. The cashier is responsible for taking orders and making the shakes. As I was waiting I noticed they were backed up and we’re giving wrong milkshakes to different customers, causing more problems.
I ordered my food for take out, which came fast, but by the time the shake came out my food was cold.
I don’t blame the employees, it’s definitely a management issue.

I’m glad that this place has been pretty consistent with everything. The last several times that I have ordered Teddy’s I have had the Wahiawa burger that has bacon and grilled pineapple in it. It’s always is delicious and filling. I always get the cheese fries too, but I think I am done doing that. It’s very good but I can feel my arteries clogging every time I eat them. There’s just sooo much cheese! My husband loves it, but I just have this thing about nacho cheese… I don’t like too much of it. Go on and hate me! I used to like their garlic fries when they made it with actual chopped garlic, but the past few times I have gotten it, it’s just these garlic powder on the fries. Lame dude, I can put my own garlic powder on it at home.
I always get a shake here because they are SO DELICIOUS! I either get this lava flow one or the chocolate haupia. The last time I was there they had a new flavor Honeydew which taste just like a Melona bar. Heaven. It’s tied for my favorite with choc haupia.
I always love grabbing food from here, I just hate the scale afterwards!

First time I came here, they lost my order and acted like it was fine. I was not impressed with their lack of customer service. Then tried the one in Aiea, different issues. Decided to try it out after a couple years. First of all there menu is way too complicated for burgers. Keep it simple and delicious.
Today, the food actually came! My burger was cooked well, the cheese wasn’t melted and the bacon was a bit undercooked for my taste. Cheese fries were hot and tasty. My vanilla shake tasted like the pineapple, perhaps the tin wasn’t cleaned after the last shake? Someone checked on us too. Little pricey, I miss Five Guys, and Kua Aina is preferred.

So many burgers to choose from! Gotta love all the options at Teddy’s! And the shakes. OMG!!!
Service is not as fast as other burger joints which isn’t a bad thing considering everything is fresh. You can even choose how big of a patty you want. Staff is always friendly. They greet you upon entering and even bring your food to your table if you’re dining in.
Of course, my first choice is always the veggie burger. If I’m feeling carnivorous I get the Kilauea burger. So juicy and delicious! Get a side of Teddy’s sauce for everything, it’s sooooo good!

First and foremost, I would give 5 stars for the Nutella shake. Do you ever crave something chocolaty? This is the best shake that will leave you wanting it again.
The burgers are 3.5 stars. While they are good and the toppings are fresh, they are thinner than you’d expect from a burger place. The garlic butter fries are oily, but sinfully delicious.
There are discounts for UH students, military, etc and you receive bonus Hawaiian miles when you use your card there.
Service is 5 stars. The service is always great! They will bring your food to you and clean your table. for you. There are signs to leave your table and let them handle it, but for us (local people) I don’t think that’s ever going to happen. It just seems rude to do so without leaving a tip. They also walk around and provide wet hand wipes.

I love burgers! So, when the urge to indulge in a good, wholesome, hearty burger hits, Teddy’s Bigger Burger will be a choice above places like Kuaaina. No matter how many times I have Teddy’s for lunch, I’ll almost always take some time deciding on what to get. My usual is the Kane’ohe burger but this time I decided to try the Kapi’olani Burger which is very similar. Ordered the combo but opted for tots instead of fries. I absolutely LOVE that you can do this! GAME CHANGER: Must order Umami Tots. They are the most delicious accompaniment to a deliciously tasty burger. However, be prepared to soak up the grease from these super-​duper oily af tots with lots and lots of napkins. Now, if there was a way they could prepare these without being doused in oil (uh, hellerrr maybe bake it instead of deep frying it), then it wouldn’t be such a killer, literally.
Overall, Teddy’s is a contender for one of the best (fast food) burgers on the island… until someone is brave enough to bring in a Red Robin, that is.
P. S. Saw haupia milk shake on the menu AND fried ice cream; so, a dessert run will likely be conducted here in the next coming weeks!

This is my very first Unilocal review and I was excited to write a happy one but… Here’s what happened:
We arrived at 7:05 and waited about 10 minutes to order. It was a busy night, my boyfriend & I ordered large garlic butter fries, 2 large piña colada shakes & I Nutella shake.
Took about 10 more minutes for the fries to arrive, we tried some. It was alright. Really dry. There was a lot of oil at the bottom of the boats that hold the fries.
We then got our drinks 20 MORE minutes. We were really excited to try the piña colada, but it tasted like plain vanilla. Waste of $ 16. I was disappointed but on the bright side at least I had my Nutella shake.
Because they took long the cashier worker gave us $ 5 coupon for our next visit.
Overall everything was alright.

I’ve been to Teddy’s in Ewa a total of three times since they opened and each time they ALWAYS disappoint me in customer service.
The first time was when they opened. Service wasn’t so hot but it’s okay because they just opened and working out the kinks here and there.
Went back 6 months to a year later and the service was still not there. Whatever.
Went back today and the two girls at the registers were PLAIN RUDE. After the lady in front of me ordered, my boyfriend and I were next in line (and the only ones left in line) and we stepped up to the counter and the lady literally ignored us and walked away. She grabbed shakes and walked away to send it out where there was another girl RIGHT THERE doing absolutely nothing. Why couldn’t she have sent the shakes out instead? It would’ve been nice for a «I’ll be right with you guys» or something but no. NOTHING.
The girl that took my order looked completely dead. No facial expression, monotone, and did not look like she was happy to be there. Her body language was not good either. Ordered a big western burger, garlic seasoned fries and a nutella shake. At this point, I’m already pissed because of this customer service on top of the horrible customer service from Safeway.
Got my food in a timely manner. The girl that took my order basically yelled it at us and we were the only ones outside then dropped it on the table. She did not seem like she appreciated our business. She then came back with the shake and just dropped it on the table, again. Went to the car and the nutella shake was white (obviously that’s not nutella). My boyfriend went back (I didn’t want to because I just couldn’t handle it anymore). When he came back to the car, there was no taste of nutella in the shake and I should know because I only get this shake from them. I swear it was a chocolate shake. No nutella. I’m in the car right now and even the fries sucks. Barely seasoned and stale.
I’m never coming back to this location. I’d rather go to Pearl City or Kapolei. At least they know how to give good customer service.

Burgers are good — the young waiters & waitresses (if that’s what you call them — they bring the food to the table after you order) are very sweet!

This is a small restaurant in Ewa Beach’s new Laulani Village Shopping Center. I usually order their turkey burger. It’s char-​broiled and juicy just like their beefy burgers but with less fat. It comes topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and their special sauce. I also get their tater tots fried nice and crispy with an extra side order or special sauce. Drinks are refillable from their drink fountain. If I am craving dessert after, I order a kid-​sized Nutella shake which seriously is artery clogging thick and sweet. Usually the workers come around to deliver our food. They also come around to clear our trash and offer wet wipes.

I don’t profess to be a burger fanatic nor part of Burger King’s or Queen’s royal court but every once in a while I do enjoy and crave a burger. On any given day, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers is FULL! Long lines and all the tables full inside AND outside. Perhaps it’s the convenient location with more than sufficient parking, or maybe it’s because the burgers are that good.
I like their burgers. Charbroiled and well done (gasp!!! YES, I wrote «well done!» Don’t hate me for that, it’s just I don’t like my beef still moo-​ing as I chomp on it). I still prefer to be pescatarian but like I mentioned earlier, sometimes meat fills that craving. The burgers here are flavorful, juicy (yes, even my well-​done burger was juicy) and I really don’t mind the charbroiled flavor. I love it!
A one star deduction for the fact that the lines and wait are incredibly long. On the wall is a sign posted that each burger is made to order and hence the wait will be worth it. Like BK you can have it your way here with your choice of add ons (extra of course) so you pretty much can customize your burger to your liking — your toppings with your type cheese (s), additions and deletions.
Overall a great burger if you don’t mind the anticipation for it. Order ahead and bypass the wait. Sparse and tight indoor seating with a few tables and chairs (probably 5 tables & 20 chairs) outside. Dining outdoors during the day in the Ewa heat can be challenging if you’re not used to it or if the trades are up and blowing, otherwise evening hours make it the most bearable.
Great customer service btw! Always a smile and greeting with service to table if they’re not too busy.

I’m giving them a 5 star rating based on their customer service. The experience did not start off very well but in the end we left happy and full and we will be back.
We went there on a Tuesday night and it was a full house and a take out waiting line. My boyfriends children wanted burgers so we stayed, we weren’t in a hurry. If you’re in a rush and they have a full house I recommend that you come back when you have more time.
We ordered 2 kids meals and one combo meal. The food took a long time (too long) and when we got out food it wasn’t cooked properly, my well done burger that I ordered was medium. They were very apologetic and let us keep the burger and gave us another one. When they brought us the corrected burger they were very apologetic and offered to give us a shake. The chocolate shake was delicious.
The staff seemed like they cared about the customers experience at their restaurant.
Mistakes can and will happen anywhere, it’s how the staff responds to the mistake that matters in the end.

Where do I begin? Besides the friendly staff, I was very upset. My boyfriend and I decided to come here after watching the food network and saw a burger so we were craving. We had expectations stepping in teddy’s but we got let down. The cashier got our orders incorrect. First of all, I ordered my burger to be well done but instead I got it medium rare and my boyfriend got his well done. Then we found out that they overcharged him for an aiea style, when in fact it was supposed to be a Wahiawa style. Overall, the Tater tots were bomb. Kind of reminded me of McDonald’s hash brown. The cashiers were nice enough to give us a refund on the Extra charge that was done to our bill, so it’s okay.

Why do people treat Teddy’s like a 5-​Star fine dining restaurant?! It’s a burger joint with meals made fresh to order, but at the same time the workers aren’t here to serve you at every whim.
Teddy’s is a great place for a burger with workers that are attentive to their jobs. All the times I have been there the workers have been nothing but excellent and never overlook a customer’s orders. They hand your order to you personally, walk around giving you hand wipes, and sometimes even walk around to pass out 10% off coupons.
I mean, for a burger joint… I’m not sure how much better that can get. I have been to worse places with food that tastes bland and people gave that place 5 stars… but in my opinion, this Teddy’s deserves 5 stars. Especially, Britt! She was awesome and she always get me order correct.
All in all, the workers really do work hard if you get off your high chair and pay attention. They’re people, too, and sometimes people make mistakes. Don’t give it 1 star just because they forgot something small.

I was working in the Ewa Beach area, and decided to make a pit stop by the new Teddy’s Bigger Burger in the Laulani Shopping Center.
I’m glad Teddy’s is growing and branching out within the islands… I know they are franchising out the various stores, and I was glad to be able try this Teddy’s in Ewa Beach.
When I walked in with my co-​worker, the place was packed! We had to wait around till we were able to find a table where we could sit down to eat.
Of course when you come to Teddy’s, what do you come here for? A hamburger of course… but in my case, I ended up with a turkey burger. Yes gang… I’m not always eating red meat… once in a blue moon I gotta try to eat something of the lighter fare to starve off a heart attack! Lol!
What can I say about the turkey burger? Although it is a different type of meat, I must say it was just as palatable as a regular hamburger. It comes with the special sauce, veggies, all wrapped up in the soft potato roll, and some delicious fries on the side.
It’s all you can drink in the open soda fountain, so guzzle all you want!
Although Teddy’s is franchising out the various stores, I’m glad they keep high standards in their product. No matter which store you go to, you know exactly what cha’ gonna get! Which is a delicious nom nom burga!
