Another food joint that’s conveniently down the road from my house. Karekare, sinigang, fried pork, lechon kawali, and crispy pata is usually what we order whenever we come here. And theyre all oh so delicious. One time we tried A’s bistro fried rice omelette with fried pork and it was the bomb dot com. For takeout, it’s best to call it in ahead of time because by the time you get there it’ll be ready. I have yet to dine in and experience the service here.

Unilocal 365 Challenge #128/365 Text Message from Daughter to my husband and I: «Let’s go A’s Bistro’s tonight, my treat» :) My Text: Why, are you in love with the cook? Daughter: Nah, I just feel like eating filipino food :) Husband: We go As we are driving there, I’m thinking of some of the reviews and was kinda apprehensive. Anyhow, we parked our car and walked in. It wasn’t crowded but we were seated right away by a friendly, young waitress. She gave us our menu and asked if we wanted anything to drink while we decide what we want to eat. Husband: Pinakbet Daughter: Pork Gisantes Me: Afritada(slices of chicken cooked in tomato sauce with peppers, onions and carrots) *Note: I was thinking it would taste like my sister’s in-laws but it wasn’t. It almost seemed as if it was mixed with cream of mushroom… :( Twin #1: Loco Moco(hmmm…that’s NOT filipino, I told my son) Twin #2: Fried Rice Omelet Appetizers were shanghai lumpia :) The food: Not bad. I think this restaurant played it safe because I consider these«party» filipino foods(the ones that are only served at parties). The best part? The food comes out HOT. The kinda bad… I don’t know if it was the bagoong but I swear I felt my fingers and toes swelling up that I started drinking alot of water. The ambiance: Very clean and friendly with filipino art. I thought there were larger TVs in here because *whispers* they order the Pacquaio fights for everyone to watch from what I understand. The service: Very friendly and quick The price: Reasonable for the current economy. Recommend: Yes, if you are in the Ewa Beach area and too lazy to head out to Thelma’s or Julie’s. I’m not going to give it any less because overall everything was pretty good even though I had to drink alot of water. Masarap!

Thanks for not greeting me as I came to your counter to order takeout. I understand you was the only waitress and were busy serving guests who dined in before I came. A few minutes later as I patiently wait, your first words to me were«hold on» as you barely even looked at me. How was my teriyaki plate? Liliha Bakery does it better. Thanks for not giving me untensils or napkins. Maybe I was supposed to ask? Maybe you should’ve offered.

Staying in Ko Olina decided to have some Filipino food so one of the staff recommended A’s Bistro saying they had some of the best Adobe Rice. Let me tell you, this rice was good along with the whole meal and the service was great. I would definitely go back to eat…

The food is very tasty but as with many Filipino dishes the grease/oil ruins any possibility of a good meal for me. I prefer my food have all the fat skimmed off. The last time we ordered adobo fried rice, after getting through about half the plate, a pool of fat was soaking the rice on the bottom. My fiancé and i ended up with stomach aches from the grease. The food is good though don’t get me wrong. I just wish they could make it less oily.

The lumpia was just ok. I think Alyssandra’s makes better vegetable lumpia with the vinegar sauce. The pork sinigang was good. Nice and tart just like Lola used to make. The fried bangus was small and not very meaty but tasted ok. The portions seemed small. The halo halo was good too. The ube ice cream was nice and smooth. It could’ve used a little more halo halo mix in there or something. It seemed a little watery but still, great on a hot day. I’ll probably eat here again if I’m in Ewa Beach and must have filipino food.

This was my first time here, and I really enjoyed my first experience here at A’s Bistro. My. boyfriend decided to take me here for a mothers day brunch along with my daughter. The parking isn’t too big and the stalls are a bit tight, but we had no problem finding parking which was a plus, due to the fact that it was raining cats and dogs at the time. It was a little after 12PM and not too really busy. This place has a somewhat islandly look, and many differen art pieces of the filipino culture. I admired and got a kick outta this one piece that had two chickens fighting. It bought back a few childhood memories… But anyways, we were immediately greeted and seated by a friendly waiter. She quickly gave us our menu and gave us few minutes to look at the menu. Being a rice lover, I orderd the adobo fried rice. The wait was around 10 minutes. The food was beyond good, but oily! There was a ton of flavor and it came in a really cool triangular shape and garnished with some green onions. For $ 7.75 I think it was worth it(despite the oiliness). There were also three t.v.‘s with the channel TFC on. I didn’t give the full five stars because our waiter forgot to give our drinks. By the time she rememberd, we were already done eating. Although I will be coming back for more if I’m not able to go to my nanays house.(:

I don’t have any clue what these people are talking about when they say they have the«BEST» dinuguan. If you enjoy your dinuguan dry and bland then yes I guess you can say they have the«BEST» dinuguan. I went in with a friend and we ordered 3 dishes. 1st was the dinuguan, like i said dry and bland. 2nd was Kare Kare looked pretty good but same thing bland in taste, thank god for the bagoong that was on the table, and I usually complain about food being too salty. The 3rd dish was Shrimp Sinigang, the only dish I had that was descent. I’m a sabau guy so this one saved this restaurant from getting 1 star. Overall the staff was pretty friendly, they were very tentative to anything you might need, but the food is pretty mediocre to poor i have to say. See for yourself.

I love Thelmas Special but the service here is a lot better, the waitresses are always nice. Only thing is they usually forget about you once all the food is served. It’s better when there are less people eating cause i usually only see two waitresses even when it’s busy. The halo halo is pretty good and portions are satisfying. They also have exotic drinks there. I always get mango!

If you are looking for the best AUTHENTIC filipino dining on the island, this place is it. I live close to Kalihi, but will make the drive all the way to Ewa Beach to eat authentic Filipino cuisine. The one dish I order at all so called Filipino restaurants is the Kare Kare, Only A’s Bistro has me coming back for more. If you are a true lover of pinoy food, you will have to try A’s. This place is better than Max’s of Manila.

I’ve been going there for quite a while now. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. Some things take a while to come out, but I think it’s worth the wait. The food is delicious!

Sweet I’m 3rd to review this place. Got a craving for some Filipino food after seeing a friend’s posting on Facebook last night mentioning about eating some. This is my first time coming to this place, I’ve known about it for awhile I’m just trying to avoid eating Filipino food because its too delicious and I can easily pack on the pounds. I just ordered the chicken adobo, it was alright tasted like any other home cooked chicken adobo except I think they used little too much ginger in mine. In the future I’ll come back here and try out some of the other selections on their menu.

In general, the service and overall cleanliness of the place was just fine. Staff was attentive and saw to us quickly. Shanghai lumpia was good, I suspect the sweet chile sauce came from a jar, but in any event, it was good. I had a pork belly dish, one of their specialties, which came with a zippy, vinegary sauce. Pretty good(and high marks for putting pork belly on the menu), but I’ll say some of the skin parts were a bit chewy. My wife had a shrimp and egg dish. Not sure if they’re fishing a lot of shellfish out of these waters, but the shrimp was so-so(though still head-on, which is a nice change) and there was a bit too much egg in the dish. She tells me that the sauce was OK. Not willing to give up on these guys yet, after having only been there once. They are the only Filipino place in Ewa Beach, so we’ll see how they do next time.

This is the only Filipino restaurant I’ll eat at besides my parents kitchen… and I’m very picky about my Filipino food! Gotta try it!
