Mountain Man Fireplace & Chimney Inc

Concurring with Emily C. here — Nick @ Mountain Man was on time, friendly, and did exactly what we needed while educating us about the intricacies of our particular fireplace. There was even a bit of snow on the roof, but that didn’t phase Nick. He was also super sweet to my kitties, which is a big plus in my book.
The only downside is that they are somewhat more expensive than other chimney sweep companies, but hell, if they actually come on time and do the job right (no other company has been able to do this), it’s worth it.

After being burned by another chimney company after holding an appointment for 3 weeks, only to have them cancel day-​of, I was hesitant to even try to contact another company. Based on some recommendations on my local
network, I decided to at least try Mountain Man. Yep, they’re more expensive than the other guys for a cleaning and full inspection, but let me tell you. After having to hire and deal with a few cleaning companies lately, these guys are awesome.
They sent me an email confirmation the day before service, telling me what to expect, when they would be there, and how I could prep for their visit.
Sure enough, the day after Thanksgiving, one of their techs, Nick, rolls up at 8:15 am. He was super personable, didn’t seem to be in a rush, didn’t mind getting up on our roof to check out the chimney in the snow, and gave serious lovies to our cat. Which wins him serious bonus points.
He spent an hour, hour and a half cleaning, inspecting, and explaining things to us fully. He pointed out things we need to fix, quoted a cost if he did it, and for a few of the issues, explained how we could alternately fix them ourselves.
Was it worth it? Totally. Will I go with them again? You bet. I’m a fan of Mountain Man.
Because Mountain Man loves my kitty.

We had our fireplace serviced by Mountain Man Fireplace & Chimney. Their customer service and service tech were great. I did feel the prices were a bit on the high side, but the outcome was what we expected. Now our fireplace is now keeping us toasty warm.
