Good food, but takes a really long time. I recommend it but only if you have an extra hour. It is a cozy little place to eat breakfast with your family.

Fantastic food, fast. Corned beef hash. Biscuits and gravy(if they don’t run out of gravy). Love the staff — it’s a small town place! Would like a mimosa with my brunch some weekend mornings, but the lack of it here has never stopped me from coming in.

They seemed to open the earliest and it was a diner where locals seemed to go. The menu had typical diner breakfasts. My wife had a hash with green chili sauce which she commented was good. I had eggs benedict which were very average. I would recommend if you are seeking a simple breakfast with fast friendly service.

This place is amazing. It is family owned and operated. Everyone is friendly, kind and sincerely caring. The food is like having a home cooked meal, full of goodness and love. My first time, I had the basic breakfast: eggs, ham, hash browns and pancakes. The next visit, I had the Florentine Benedict. They are doing it right. A special thanks to Alexis, who bought my breakfast for me the 2nd visit. Your random act of kindness was moving. I felt very blessed. When I visit the area, I will always remember to visit your café.

Lakeshore café has simply great diner breakfasts. I can even go new age and get an egg white Greek omlete that is to die for — nice and fluffy and not greasy(reminiscent of Udis in stapleton). Basic coffee but the serving staff is super friendly and the crowd is a good mix. Highly recommend September when the elk are out at the lake just across the parking lot!

With a view of the Lake, you can’t go wrong. The staff is great and the food is amazing. I had the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. It would be easy to write a long review but I’ll keep it short. OMG… Go here for breakfast.

This is a no-frills little family diner that happens to have a million dollar view of Evergreen Lake and some good solid breakfast offerings to boot. I had an omelet smothered in green chili with a side of silver-dollar pancakes. They were out of home fries so I had the hash browns instead. Everything was absolutely delicious, served quickly and at the correct temperature(very important) and the waitress was sweet as pie. What more could you want? I’ll be back!

Wonderful café 2 minutes from Evergreen Lake. Not ostentatious looking from the outside but was really impressed by the great food and the fantastic friendly service. We went there for a «yahoo boohoo» breakfast after the kids started school and we all enjoyed our brunch. I loved my eggs benedict. This place is a must visit if you enjoy brunch!

Just did take out — Had the Crab Cakes Benedict with Poached eggs. The crab cakes were really good. Surprisingly good for a landlocked state that isn’t a seafood place. They weren’t the best crab cakes I’ve ever had, but they were far from the worst or even average ones. One poached egg was broken(see photo) but still delicious. Boyfriend had corned beef hash, which was real corned beef, not canned corned beef, but proper corned beef. He really liked it. It did have onions in it(which apparently isn’t standard at least for him.) But he liked it. Both our hashbrowns were a little underdone, but they were very busy when we ordered. Delicious experience again!

Cozy locals breakfast spot. When ordering stick to the basics or pick something with green chili. If you are from the South, don’t even think about ordering the biscuits and gravy. The gravy is sweet and has a weird texture. It’s definitely not like any biscuit gravy I’ve ever had before. When choosing a breakfast spot in Evergreen, I would choose Lakeshore based on its great location and the fact that my picky kids love the pancakes and sausage patties here!

We stopped in at the Lakeshore Café on the first day of our vacation/house hunting trip to Evergreen. It was a small, almost non-descript little coffee shop type of place. It was late, about 1:30, and they close at 2:00, so there weren’t many customers there, but we were seated immediately by a very friendly young woman. Both my husband and I are«breakfast people» and boy! Does this place deliver! He had the Trout & Eggs — apparently a Colorado thing, as we’ve seen it since on other menus, but no one did it as great as here! The sautéed trout was A1 perfect! Slightly crisp, fabulously flavorful and fresh; perfect — really textbook perfect — poached eggs; and great hash browns. I had the ‘Potato Plate’ with a bed of the BEST hash browns I’ve ever had(crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, &SOOO yummy!) topped with 2 perfect poached eggs, and a bucketful of the tastiest, green chile sauce with bacon(and all gluten-free!). Yes, I did lick my plate clean! And yes I have been craving those potatoes and the stellar green chile every day since! No wonder this little gem is crowded with locals! It is definitely worth a trip from anywhere(especially if you’re in Denver) for a scrumptious breakfast, with a great view of Evergreen Lake, and shockingly inexpensive prices! Go — Don’t miss it!

We have eaten there many times and the food is always very good — especially recommend the green chile omelet — but I just felt the need to rave about this last experience we had. We went for breakfast on Labor Day, and the place was PACKED — busier than we had ever seen it. Although the three servers were working their tails off, every single one of them had a smile and was just super friendly and pleasant. We ordered the green chile omelet(as usual) and even though they were so busy, we got our food in only about five minutes!(BTW, we always ask to have it «split» with an extra order of toast, and are always told«no problem» and it arrives on two separate plates.) Anyway, as I said, it was so busy that we got our cups of coffee, but we did not get a single refill. We were getting a little disgruntled, as we had finished our meal and had decided just to leave, when the waitress brought us our bill and said, «I am SO sorry that we did not get over here to refill your cups, so your coffee is on me.»(And we hadn’t even complained or anything because, as I said, those young ladies were really busting their butts, trying to please everyone and do everything, and yet never lost their smiles and good humor!) WAYTOGO, LAKESHORECAFE!!!

We live not far from here, but had never been here before my wife and I came here for Breakfast 2 days ago. I was a little unsure as I always am when I walk in to a «strip mall» restaurant, and my concerns grew after we sat at the table and my arms were sticking to the table. The table LOOKED clean, so I chalked it up to new stain work on the wood and hoped for the best. My wife ordered the green chili omelet, and after I saw what it was — meat omelet smothered in green chili with has browns and pancakes on the side(are you kidding me!!!), I ordered the same thing like the good little hubby that I am. The food was amazing!!! I am almost in a food frenzy thinking about it as I write this! The omelet was everything I hoped for, with very good green chili, the homemade hash-browns were perfect, and the pancakes nearly gave me a pancake-gasm! 5 star food in a 3 star setting = 4 stars. OMG, after writing this I am SO going back here for B-fast tomorrow!

We decided to try this place for our New Year Day brunch — called at 11:10 to see if they were open and the girl says(insert rude voice throughout) «well yes but we close at 12 today». Well. ill be there in 5 minutes at 11:15 so will we be able to eat? «Like I said, we close at 12 and we have a crowd». I said I had no problem waiting but wanted to be assured that if I waited 45 minutes I would still be seated. She repeated«we have a crowd. and close at 12». I’ll never attempt to go there again.

I’d be surprised if anyone even reads this review. Not only is this town really small but I can imagine it to be the perfect location to carry out a serial killer’s perfect fantasy: so much nature surrounding all civilization. mmmMm. I’m glad I’m not staying around here… just imagine how many bodies… nevermind. But for breakfast: YUM. I loved this little joint. I’m so glad we decided to eat here. — 2 Poached Eggs with hashed potatos($ 8.95): Awesome poached eggs and the hashed potatoes. The runniness was perfect and the sauce was so good and flavorful. Awesome choice if you like eggs. Pro: — Such a friendly staff! I’m sure everyone knows each other since this is such a small town, so they may have been super nice to visitors or just generally nice. I vote for the latter. — Tax is pretty low? I think it is. If I’m correct it was like 4.1%. The heck?(of course I would notice this…) — Nice hometown/your mom&pop shop feel to the restaurant. Con: — You would not really stop here unless you lived here or wanted to go to the lake right next to it. Yeah, no one will read this review… HAHAH. Thanks for a great experience! Nice people and great food really make the best combo these days.

You might not think much of Lakeshore Café from the outside, because it’s located in the log-cabin equivalent of a small strip mall where the exterior signage is fairly nondescript. However, the breakfast burritos came highly recommended by my brother-in-law, so I was happy to try out this little café a few weekends ago as a brunch stop on the way to Mount Evans(which by the way was already closed, but it was still a brisk and beautiful drive.) Oddly enough, I ended up ordering huevos rancheros, which is my litmus test for any breakfast joint. They turned out to be good — not the best I’ve ever had, but not the worst ever either.(Search my reviews for scrambled egg rancheros to see what I’m talking about.) I think it was the addition of piped sour cream on top that threw the taste for me — pretty to look at, but tart — and the tortillas, though tasty, were a little too thick for my liking. Home fries = out of this world! Never ending refills of diet coke kept me pretty happy, and everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy their breakfast burritos and omelettes. Hands-down, we had great service here with several folks checking in on us throughout the meal. Looks to be family-run, and there was a young teenage boy loping around(but working) that looked like he’d rather be doing something else. But hey, I probably would be too if I were in his shoes. Oh, and the view? Can’t be beat.

So, I gather that this cute little breakfast/brunch/lunch spot did not used to rock like it does not under the new owners. I have to admit, I had poked my head in before the place got bought out last summer, and didn’t bother trying it. It just didn’t look that interesting. On a visit last weekend to the lake with my dog, I happened to be a bit hungry, and saw that the place was under new management. Much to my surprise and delight, there was more than simple new management… the whole place has had a complete makeover. It’s got a cozy, warm, and inviting ambiance, a new menu full of options, and a terrific staff of friendly, local Evergreeners. I tried the green chili smothered omelet. The homemade chili was that little bit that pushed my experience from 4 to 5 stars. Delicious. All in all, good food, great staff, beautiful views, and priced right to be a total winner in my book(entrée’s were around $ 8 bucks — lots of food too). I will most definitely be returning!
