Came here with friends on a Saturday night. We had a groupon and why not give this place a try. It wasn’t bad and the wait was not bad. We had their sushi and some rice. The sushi was ok but I have had better but it was ok. The prices were not bad and they did have tons of choices. I got the fried rice and I would say never again. The rice had an odd taste and smell to it. I might give it another try. Maybe lunch next time.

Came here with my little cousin. We really enjoyed the food. It was the end of the night so everyone was laid back. Our waiter seemed tired, but he was helpful. I’ll definitely be back.

I have NOT eaten their food. I just tried to phone in my first order: small shrimp egg foo young, small shrimp friend rice. It was over $ 16! Yikes! I cancelled the order because I’m used to paying a lot less for those dishes.

Nothing wrong with 3 stars. Food is consistently pretty good, but nothing stellar, and Bruce the owner is always friendly and smiling. The sushi, which for the area, is good, because lets face it, the near South Suburbs aren’t a quality sushi hotspot. I think the food is better than Chi Tung, the ambiance is less busy, and the wait staff is sufficient. Other than the place feeling a bit dirty sometimes(the floor has been sticky), I think this place is more than good enough to stop in at once in a while.

Not bad. I went in there for sushi but saw some Thai options so I kept jumping from one mind to another. I ended up having edi tempura maki. It was good but the roll was to wide. Had problems sticking the whole thing in my mouth after dipping it in soy sauce. It was fresh. The starters were good too.

Been here many times. One of the really good Chinese around. Their orange chicken, crazy noodles are just excellent. You can taste the chicken which is all white meat not too spicy. Not too sweet. Just good. Also tried their chicken egg foo yon. This place is never too busy so you seat immediately. Prices very reasonable. One of the hidden gems of EP

Excellent quality Chinese food at a reasonable price. Whenever I want to take my family out for an elegant Chinese dinner we go to Sesame Inn. The menu selection is excellent and prices reasonable. The customer service is fast and friendly and the wait time to be seated is never long. This place has the best quality orange chicken I have ever tasted. My wife and 3 kids agree. Highly recommended!

Decided to give this place a try after a few disappointing trips to Chi Tung. I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was great. I will definitely be returning.

Poor Service from our Server but amazing Food! It saddens me that just about every restaurant we visit in Chicago has employees with terrible customer service skills. No greeting, warm welcome or any kindness of any sort from our Server. Just dry ROBOTIC. Thank you Mr. Roboto

I have tried this place several times now, and either they’ve upped their game or I was there on a bad day. I like going for lunch where there are sushi specials and you get that cute sheet of paper to mark off which items you’d like. My only complaint, but it’s a big one, is their spicy tuna roll. I LOVE spicy tuna rolls, but there’s is bad. Really bad. The tuna isn’t bad, but whatever they use to make it spicy sure is. Most places sort of chop up the tuna and combine with a spicy sauce for the spicy tuna roll, but here they keep the tuna intact and spread or sprinkle a spice mix unevenly into the roll. Some bites are fire hot, some bites have no spice. The consistency of the bites with the spice is weird, almost sandy. It’s very unpleasant. There are still plenty of yummy choices, though, and I’m always content with everything else.

Kamikaze roll was bad. Fish is not fresh. Roll is tiny for 12 bucks that they charge!!! Cucumber roll tasted frozen. Terrible sushi. We won’t be back, for sure. This is a picture of the meal for 30 bucks minus small appetizer. Ridiculous!

I have been coming here for years with my family and boyfriend. Love that they offer a Groupon. I typically opt for the pad thai with tofu(spicy) or vegetable maki, but I branched out and tried the Beverly maki roll on my last visit. Hands-down, best roll I have tried in the south suburbs. Although the service is a little slow, I always enjoy my meal.

Better than previous visits for sure. Got a roll with very nice tempura shrimp inside, eel and avo outside with eel sauce; just delicious. Spicy tuna roll with tuna and salmon on top could have used a little something to snazz it up, but was fresh and good with quite a lot of fish. And the pad Thai with shrimp was really luscious, with quite a few medium shrimp and very saucy, like I prefer. Had an expired Groupon and they gave me the value I paid without a problem, and service was good. I think they’re getting better with time and now I know a couple things I really like there, for next time.

Very disappointed by their handling of an online order(through their website). Apparently the order never actually showed up in their computer’s print out so we waited for 90 minutes for a delivery that never came. No big deal. Accidents happen. It was the next part of the story that accounts for my two star rating… I called 15 minutes before closing time on a Sunday and simply asked if something may be wrong with my order. I advised that I had my confirmation number but was told repeatedly I must have ordered from elsewhere and nothing was in the computer. I then drive to the restaurant and show the usual«manager»(?owner?) both my order number email receipt and my charged bank statement. I am still told to follow up and he seemed confused that his restaurant even had its own website. I pushed and only after another 5 minutes was my order actually found. The end result was a voided transaction and no food after 2 hours of waiting. It’s sad that this is something I’m writing a Unilocal review about because I’ve been coming to Sesame Inn for nearly 3 years and I am pretty surprised by the lack of trust of my concern, lack of follow through, or even a sincere apology(re:comp’d order) for a issue like this. Mistakes happen: it’s okay, really, but own an honest mistake and make it right and you’ll have a happy customer. Otherwise…

I have been here several times, and this place is the definition of hit or miss. It’s definitely preferable to Chi Tung on busy nights, but can’t beat Sushi Thaime for the Sushi. The food is either absolutely fantastic or highly questionable, no consistency whatsoever. The service, however, is deplorable. The same server, a man in his 30s(?) with a hair style that yearns to be anywhere but in a suburban restaurant, is awful. It takes the staff forever to seat you(if you don’t give up and seat yourself) let alone bring you water, ask about beverages, etc. Please promote the busboy, he’s the only one who gives a damn.

Great little place. Usually gets the overflow when Chi Tung is too crowded, but don’t let that take away from how good they are. Great food, Great prices !

I really love this place but the last time I went I was really disappointed in the duck. Which I was really looking forward too. the duck wasn’t crispy like the description says. It was really rubbery and it looked undercooked. Other then that service and the sushi was awesome. Please try the Thai ice tea very yummy if your looking to try«new things»
