I love Popeye’s, hands down the best spicy fried chicken. I could eat here every week no lie. Since this is the only one near me I had to write a review about it. There are a few workers who are very cheery which I like. They always generous with items here and there like peppers, sauces, sides etc. If by any chance you haven’t had their food, go for a leg and a breast in spicy(not spicy at all) with a side of cajun fries(ask for a fresh ones), mashed potatoes and gravy(heavenly when you dip chicken in it) and coleslaw!

Yum! I find Popeyes to be a lot better than KFC because their chicken usually has more meat and it isnt overpowering with sodium. The prices are also super cheap and their fries are AMAZING! I’m a french fry fanatic so popeyes is definitely a yes for me :) The portions are huge so I usually can save it for later which is good. Perfect for college students on a budget. I also love that they have a lot of sides to choose from because I am usually really picky. However, their biscuit is a bit lacking for me. Not as buttery as KFC, but that’s okay. Just add more butter to it and you’re all set! Unless you’re calorie counting, but nobody counts calories if you’re eating a popeyes.

This review just mad me gag! I came here last night ordered the 11 piece family meal. They up-charge our order because we ordered thighs and breast. Which was fine with us. The kid that mad our order did not pay attention. We checked and it was mixed with thighs and drums. At this point I was getting annoyed because he up-charge us but then again lied that it is only breast and thighs mix(spicy&mild) then he went to grab manager but she just went hid in the back and had another employee to assist us. Her communication and listening skills were way off. «I am trying to help him» but I clearly did not understand her. Even trying to help … Matters were just worst. She messed up our order completely and they had to remove chicken from the box literally 4 times to get our order right. But it is what it is. When we got home there were a little roach along with another over-sized roach came out the bag! Omg that was gross! I tried to called the store but no answer VM was full. I don’t know if the first employee that was serving us did that after the 3rd time before the lady took over. I don’t want to accuse the kid. Idk if the store had up to date inspection ?.. For sure I will call board of health to notified them as well. I tried to call the store to tell them but their VM was full. I came here to the Everett location between 5−6pm on Friday. My order was total to 33 dollar because the up-charge and 4 sauces. I am disappointed with this franchise 4 ever. I advised all customers to inspect your food before consuming.

Slow service. I love Popeyes I was happy when they opened it because it was close to my house but this Popeyes need new team, bad service every time that I come here I need to wait for my French fries more than 2 minutes while my chicken gets cold on the counter most of the time I have to get what ever is available because they don’t have what i want and told me if you want spicy chicken you need to wait 15 or 20 minutes.

Another dissapointing experience at this Popeye’s Chicken. Yesterday we stopped here to grab some dinner and have to say that it was a failure from the start. The first issue was that the staff was incredibly slow and we had to wait over five minutes to be served even though we were the only customers in line. When we did order, everything we wanted was unavailable. They were out of fries, chicken tenders, mac and cheese as well as original chicken. When we asked how long it would take to cool, we were met with rude attitudes and«5 minutes.» We ended up just grabbing whatever was available and left quickly. This isn’t the first time we have had an experience like this and the only reason we return is because it is the most local restaurant to the family we visit.

Good food very often hot. Men’s bathroom is missing mirror. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating, recently installed tv that plays football on Sundays.

first popeye’s experience: success. the place was clean and well staffed with people who actually seemed to be among the living, already two points over any KFC i’ve ever been to. the girl working the register was even nice to the two idiots in front of me who flat out ignored her when she spoke to them.(hint, if it’s your turn and you’re not ready, the correct response is «i’m sorry, i’m still undecided» and then you stand aside. you aren’t alone in the universe. also, your girlfriend probably won’t disappear if for one second you release your deathgrip on her waist to hold the door for the person behind you. …although, maybe she will, maybe you know something i don’t, who knows.) we ordered two spicy tender meals, both with cajun fries(each also come with a biscuit) along with a side of cole slaw & a side of mac n’ cheese. $ 24 for fast food for two people isn’t cheap, but sadly seems to be the norm these days.(i also appreciated that the guy helping me offered me options on how to get what i wanted for the least amount of money. i like that you can do the bucket style meals with tenders and not just bone-in mixed chicken pieces. i’d have gone that route if we didn’t want fries.) still, if i’m going to pay that kind of money, at least the food was hot and good. they were getting to the end of the tray of spicy tenders and for a moment i thought we might get jipped(it was mostly small odd shaped bits) but instead they gave us more chicken than we could eat. i mean listen, i don’t know what part of the chicken the spider-crab-looking-leg-tender comes from, but i don’t care because it was awesome. i would categorize both the fries and tenders as «seasoned» vs cajun or spicy respectively, but you know…[insert white people dining at an ethnic establishment announcing«this water is too spicy!» jpg here.] the mac n’ cheese was as expected — tasted like the stouffers microwave dinner i sometimes make when i’m too wasted to safely prepare velveeta shells and cheese — which is to say, pretty good. though i still await the day a place like this makes their own real mac and cheese. the cole slaw is awesome — if you like dill, which i do. crunchy and fresh. …wait, are there… PICKLES? no wonder. good times. the only thing lacking was the dipping sauce. the blackened ranch was something i liked, albeit bland. on the level of fry sauce. the sweet heat though… jeez. i don’t know what’s in this and i don’t want to. this stuff smells like straight up chemicals, and the initial bite tastes like it too. the weird part though? the aftertaste has a good kick and isn’t bad, so you convince yourself to go back for one more taste and… no. no matter though, i have dressing at home. we’ll be back.

Seriously some of the best fried chicken you’ll ever have in Boston. When I went, Saturday mid-day, the food was hot and the staff was amazingly quick and kind. Far beyond normal fast food experience.

This is a great Popeye’s location. I have been here dozens of times and found it clean, the service good, and the food consistent. Much, much cleaner than the KFC down the road, and I would say it is very close to the Roxbury location, which is my current favorite. If you live North of Boston this is your best bet for fried chicken.

I rarely eat here but Alex has a second day in a row craving! But what do you know– the food is pretty good. Good jambalaya rice(inspired me to wanna cook this at home) and I dont really like the fries but the cajun spices added really is tasty. This Southern meal is his favorite and yeah Im afraid of the greasy chicken even as delish as it taste. Okay you got me… I am glad he brought me here. But thank gawd it aint too often!

Good greasy yumminess which if indulged in too often could kill. Ask for the sparkle seasoning. They have only 1 – 2 people who they trust to touch money. so there could be a back log at the registers. Usually a line, that forms gets long then disappates as quickly as it arrived– flash mobbish. Odd.

Popeyes is much better than KFC in my opinion. The chicken in here always taste fresh and crispy. You can get your chicken either mild or spicy. The red bean and rice is amazing, and I strongly recommend to give it a try. The price is reasonable, and the place is clean. They are doing a good job maintaining the store, and the service is fast. The staff are usually friendly and patient.

The food was good! THESERVICESUCKED! I NEVERDEALTWITHSUCHIGNORANTPEOPLE! First while being rushed, I ordered a chicken strip meal and a 5 piece wing meal. Now I’m paying with my debit card, the cashier slides my card, I then ask for sweet & sour sauce, the cashier replies” only one free sauce comes with the chicken strip meal, each additional sauce cost .27 cents”. I then say okay can I get 3 more sauces, the cashier replies IN A VERYRUDETONEOFVOICE«too late I already swiped your card», I said it’s okay you can swipe it again, she stated there’s a minimum for card purchases. The card minimum wasn’t a problem, my problem was the customer service from the time I ordered my food to me paying for my food SUCKED. Never again!

When I was stationed in California. I had my first taste of Popeyes and I loved it. There was one right on base and I ate there semi-regularly. It was great, my favorite being their crispy, flaky chicken tenders and dips. yum. I haven’t had it in a long time and almost had a heart attack when I saw there was a location driving by. I doubled back and marched into the establishment with saliva dripping from every taste bud in my body. I was disappointed. It’s not as it used to be I guess. the chicken was so unappetizing. I ordered the onion crusted chicken tenders meal with darkened ranch dressing… meh. The service was quite rude and I felt like I was being rushed. Oh and my biggest gripe is that there’s a Dunkin Donuts right next door and the sign about their drive through being around the back makes you think that Popeye’s was the one with the drive through. How Annoying.

Ok… So I have been anticipating and expecing GREATNESS… So we drive up & there is no parking, I have to wait for a spot & there are only like 10 right there… Get my spot & then glance inside, OMG… The place is packed! So I run in and go the Bathroom first — Cleanest bathroom Ive seen and smells pretty nice! Go back to line & am figuring I can take my time, check in, Check FB seeing that the line is soo long & then I go to look up at Menu & Oops its already my turn, so dont let the line fool you — They speed you through there… Decisions, Decisions, I want to try everything — Want to get enough food for all of us, but dont want to have too much leftover(I have a think with re-heated chicken)… so our order consisted of: 8 Piece Family Meal with 1 side &4 Biscuits 2 –5 Pc orders of Tenders(Just the chicken) 1 Kids Meal Nuggets(4pcs) 2 Additional Large Side(Green Beans — Because the corn would be another 15 mins, and Mac and cheese) Ooh and dont forget the sauce that they CHARGED me for!!! So the Chicken was SOOO Crispy and soo flavored & Delish… Who only gives out 1 Side with an 8 Piece Meal, Hello even KFC gives out 2… Bull if you ask me… But after tasting all their sides, I wouldnt want 2 next time! So the Mashed Potatoes unlike KFC has gravy on them & this isnt your ordinary gravy, its almost like spicy pork grease just poured over… So if you dont love greasy spicy weird flavored gravy ask for NONE… The Mac & Cheese was decent not fake cheese tasting like KFC is. The green beans(which I ordered because again the Corn wasnt ready for 15 mins) werent even full — she was running around trying to get someone to make her a large & told me there was enough to make one — but to get home to find out it was half filled & I was still charged for a large — UGH you know what that loses another star(at this point in my review I was at 3 but Im dropping it down to 2 now… that made me mad!) Bad enough you didnt have the corn & then bullshit me with Green beans & charge me full… Okay moving on… Oh and they were gross by the way! The biscuits were the best biscuits hand down… The chicken strips were good, similar to KFC… Sauces(which did I mention they made me pay for) were as you would expect… The Nuggets were tiny but good, son inhaled them — Next time I would order him a bigger size, and the fries were great… So all in all would go back to get Chicken & then drive across the street to KFC to get sides… Or would just get the Mashed with no Gravy… The chicken was worth going again… and I would just order more attentively &WAIT For the corn!
