Evreything was absolutely delicious! The chicken curry was the best I’ve had in a long time. Service was exceptional and had the person waiting our table be super sweet to our baby. Definetly returning!

I tried the Chicken Madras lunch special based on other reviews and was not disappointed. It was flavorful with large amount of chicken. All the sides were delicious as well and the naan was perfect. My favorite was probably the mango pudding. I’ve had mango pudding at other restaurants, but at Mahal it tastes fresh and delicious.

The food here was solid. Portion sizes were a little on the small side but ordered 2 entrees and 2 naans(and can’t forget the mango lassi) which was enough for 2. Had chicken tikka masala and shahi paneer, both good, garlic naan and bullet naan. Avoid the bullet; weak flavor and not enough spice. Everything else is well worth getting again. A random side note: got really upset that we were charged more than the menu price for the naan and was told ‘we updated our computers so we have new prices.’ Charge what you advertise, that’s just good business practice. If I care enough to bring it up, fix it… Nope.

Seriously delicious. It felt like eating in someone’s home. The service was perfectly friendly and came around at all the right times. The garlic naan is to die for too! We will definitely be coming back.

I have worked at an Indian restaurant and it was my first experience with Indian cuisine. Since then, I have moved across the country and and I try to find Indian restaurants that come close to what I’m used to. In general, the consistency of the gravy base varies from place to place from soupy to a stew consistency, but the flavor at Mahal is excellent! I ordered the vindaloo(which is my go-to dish). It has a very bold tomato base(much like a minestrone soup flavor) and the spices hit your taste buds with a burst of delicious flavor. It has an aftertaste of garlic but is not heavily flavored with garlic. Mahal gives plenty of rice to eat with the curries, which is usually lacking in many other places I’ve ordered from. I also ordered the Aloo(potato) naan, which had a nice fluffy texture, and even though it was take-out it was not soggy. I will be going back to Mahal in the future. I got take-out so I don’t have an opinion on the service dine-in experience, but the take-out was prompt and my order was correct. I ordered online and they added my special instructions, appreciate the attention to detail.

Amazing food! First time having Indian cuisine in the Seattle area. My hubby and I got the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, both were delicious and halal! We will definitely be going here more often since it is so close by! We’re hooked! :)

Amazing food! You can tell the chefs really pay attention to the details of their cooking. Their dishes taste better than 90% of indian places I’ve been to. Their customer service also sets them apart from 90% of indian places I’ve been to. You are greeted kindly when you come in and the people running the place are very kind and accommodating. Love it!

Excellent Indian food at this newish restaurant tucked away in a little south Everett strip mall. They seem to still be getting a few things in order but the food was so good and they were so charming that I am sure we’ll come back often. We shared an appetizer, two entrees, rice, and two orders of naan… this was way way more than enough for 2 people and we took about half of it home in a to go box. Our appetizer was the samosa chaat, which was delicious but not at all what we expected: the samosas were small chunks of pastry in a rich chickpea and yogurt sauce… really good although it didn’t seem warm enough or evenly heated. Entrees were shrimp vindaloo and shaahi paneer masala. The vindaloo was as spicy as we hoped it would be and had a great tangy flavor. Excellent. Shrimp were cooked just right. The paneer was in a really nice creamy curry sauce. Also very good. They have about a dozen types of naan to choose from; we got bullet naan, which had herbs and chili flakes. Quite good and charred just a bit. 1 order is definitely enough for 2 people. Service was very friendly, and this would be a 5-star review if but for 2 things: first, it was freezing cold in the restaurant. We sat away from the door and left our coats on and huddled together but it was cold throughout. I dunno… I guess it lowers the carbon footprint. Second, I think because they were short some staff, it was a bit slow. But all in all a super tasty dinner with leftovers and very nice people too. We’ll be back.

This place is AMAZING! All of the food was delicious, the chef did an amazing job cooking the food. It’s definitely comfort food. I ate everything on my plate, I suggest the Chicken Madras and the Chicken Tikka both are delicious. This place is great for people who like indian food and for new comers like me. If you can’t find a place for dinner go here!

This place has only been open for a few month now. The décor of the place has a ‘we’re still moving in’ feel, but this is was not a factor in my review. I do want to say that the food here is AMAZING! My wife and I like Indian food we’ve had good experiences and bad in past restaurants, However this place has one of the best flavors north of the Saffron Grill in North Seattle. Mahal’s Butter Chicken and Chicken Madras were above parr. Totally worth going back for. Their naan bread is a good portion, my wife recommends their cheese naan. I would also like to talk about the owner. I don’t recall his name, but he was the most friendliest guy I’ve seen in awhile. Very respectful, warm, and genuine man with a good soul. For this reason, and the food, we will back soon

My wife and I came here after seeing a new Indian restaurant was in the area. We started with he vegetable samosas and found them quite tasty with just a bit more spice than most we have had. We played it «safe» trying standbys of Chicken Tikka Masala and the Mixed grill with garlic naan. Both were very good. Finished off with a mango pudding and gulab jamun for when we got home. All were very good. The owner mentioned that their liquor license was in the works(a Kingfisher would have made it all that much better…) We will be back!!!

I discovered Mahal about two weeks after they had opened, and I found the food to be delicious, and the owner very personable. Very happy to see so many positive reviews here, because the family is certainly putting their heart and soul into making this an outstanding location. They are relatively new to the NW, having come from Florida, I believe. So glad to have something good closer to Mukilteo… Be sure to give them a try!

Stumbled upon this restaurant during a work break. Has been my favorite Indian restaurant since. The quality of the food you get here and the price you’re paying is borderline robbery. The owner is very friendly and genuinely cares about your experience and if you enjoyed the food. Couldn’t ask for more…

Parking lot was full and I happened to park right in front then figured I’d give them a try. I’m glad I did, food was excellent and fresh. However they have a limited selection on the buffet. But it was all great. They even brought out fresh nana bread that was fresh and hot. Nice crisp and char you don’t find many places. I’ll keep this on my lunch routine. FYI, I don’t often give anything above 3 stars. Three stars to me means I’ll go back.

Where to start! having been married into an Indian(Hindu) family, I know a thing or two about authentic Indian food. I’ve been to many restaurants that purport to make authentic food, but it always ends up being nothing like homemade. When I first saw the $ 35 minimum for delivery it was a bit daunting. That’s either a lot of food or a lot of $ for 1 person to pay for dinner, but I really wanted to give them a try as I love Indian food and finding one that delivers to me is very rare. So I ordered a variety of things to get a sampling. Lamb Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Papadum(not to be confused with Papar, but still very good), Masala Chai, and both Roti and Puri. If you know your Indian breads, you know Roti is better than Naan, and Puri is better than both. Puri is the hardest to make and often the most expensive. I was surprised they even had it on the menu since most places only serve Naan and fewer still have Roti. To find a place that had all 3 was a real treat. I placed my order, and all total it came to $ 40 or so after tip. It was delivered on time within the hour. It was raining, but the driver was so nice after he brought me my food, he went back to his car to get me a menu despite having to do so under wet Washington skies. He thanked me and went on his way.(They called me to let me know they were out of Roti and in turn I just doubled my Puri order. They didn’t charge me the extra $ 1) When I brought the food in and took it all out, it was very nicely packaged. The Biryani came with salad, and had a huge portion. The Masala came in a quality, airtight container and was very hot. The cumin-infused Basmati rice(l didn’t think I’d get rice but was pleasantly surprised that it was included) came in another large container. The Puri were wrapped in paper to absorb some of the cooking oils, and then wrapped in tin foil tightly to keep them warm(which they were). The Papadum was also packaged nicely and came with the 2 traditional dipping sauces. The Chai was in 2 cups inside themselves to keep it warm: it was :) The first night, I tried the hot Chicken Tikka Masala. There was a lot of chicken and sauce. It ended up feeding me for Dinner that night and Lunch and Dinner the next day. The spice combinations were perfect, and they didn’t add filler like large pieces of cheap bell pepper to lessen their cost of meat. There was a lot of meat, and it was juicy inside, with the masala baked perfectly onto the outside of the meat. Each piece was delightful and the suriwa(sauce) was thick unlike many at restaurants. This chef obviously had been doing this a long time. I rate this dish at 4.9÷5 stars. The only thing that would have given it a perfect 5 for me would have been for them to omit the bell peppers altogether(there were very few but I’m not a fan). I ate the Papadum over the course of the weekend, kept them sealed in a plastic bag as they were freshly baked. Excellent flavor and a great snack day or night. Very pleased I ordered them and will again. My vote: 5⁄5. The Masala Chai was hot and tasted exactly as I remember my uncles making it in their large hundi’s(aluminum pot) outside for all the guests at family gatherings. I rate it a 5⁄5. The Lamb Biryani I waited 2 days to eat, as I had so much other food to eat. I was skeptical that this would taste good after reheating it. It had sat in my fridge from Friday night until Monday afternoon. To my surprise and almost shock after heating it up, I realized this was the closest anyone had ever come to my ex-mother-in-laws godly Lamb Pulau! It was incredible, the lamb was tender but slightly spicy. The flavors, vegetables, spices and rice mixture was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the only large piece of anything in it was the lamb, and there was plenty of meat for the entire dish., I rate this a 5⁄5 as I’ve never had better Biryani. I can only imagine how good it would have been the first night! The Puri I save for last. I love Indian breads, and Puri is like the holy grail of Indian breads, if the person making it knows what they are doing. Not only was my Puri hot, perfectly cooked, but it tasted exactly like it used to when I had it made by my inlaws. The care and effort that goes into making each one makes them such dedicated cooks, and in a way, artisans. This Puri was some of the best I’ve eaten, and despite it being made to dip into sauces, I just ate it all by itself. I ate all 4 pieces in the first 12 hours. I’d rate them 4.8÷5, only because they had a tiny bit more oil on them them I’d have liked, but beyond that, simply incredible. The Driver told me their place is brand new, and if they keep this up, I will not be moving anytime soon. I’m so thrilled to finally have great Indian food that can be delivered, I am literally in heaven! In the end, the $ 40 or so fed me all weekend long(3 days), so it really was economical. If you love Indian food, you must give this place a try!
