Michelle was recommended to be by a friend. I wish I had gone somewhere else.
Michelle’s work area is FILTHY. I cringed every time one of her combs or brushes came near me. They were full of hair and covered in some sort of brown styling product and obviously had not been cleaned in some time. While the rest of the salon looked fairly clean, I was pretty disgusted and shocked that these kind of unsanitary conditions were tolerated. I should have said something right then but felt uncomfortable. My hair turned out just ok – Nothing great – but even if it were fabulous I would not go back. I can’t believe the state inspectors don’t do something about this.

Emily, in response to your comments below. I do not appreciate your reference to my other review regarding service from a very horrible man in 1991. It was nothing less than abusive, and there WAS NOT a place available to post about my experience at that time. When I looked him up recently, I was shocked to see he was still in business, and that there was a much more recent post detailing a nearly identical experience! How terrible. So I decided to post my review.
You may not like my post about my experience with your salon, however for one woman to downplay the abuse suffered by another is really sad. Your flippant tone is very telling as well.

Stephanie does the best balayage! She has great technique and an eye for color. So glad I found her!

I LOVE this salon! I have recommended so many people to it. My best friend from 1^st grades mom works there and she does my hair. It’s always a great time and super comfortable! The only downfall is lots of people do love it so its always very full and sometimes difficult to get an appointment. Ask for Michelle she does wonders especially with blonde and toning!

I love Andrea. She took the time and asked me about my hair. My dislikes and what I wanted done. She then did exactly what I wanted and I love my hair!!! She gave me tips on how to keep it healthy. I highly recommend her.

Karmin is amazing! She’s worked on my ombré and lightened my dark box dyed hair for a couple of visits and did awesome. I recently had her do babylights with the popular rose gold tint. I’m very happy and I think I found my stylist for life.

I’ve been going to this salon for 3 years now and absolutely love it! Making appointments is easy and the salon is flexible. There is plenty of parking and the salon is easy to get to in a convenient area.
I’m the type of person who stays on top of my hair. I regularly get it cut and colored and Emily always does a fantastic job. From her fabulous color and cut to the styling, I’ve never been disappointed.
The salon is a bit older but it has character. I know the staff works hard and they are definitely growing and constantly working towards strengthening their skills. Their drive to stay current is present on their social media.
I recommend this salon to anyone who wants a trustworthy salon that they can go back to time and time again.

What can I say about Monica except that all 3 of us love her!

I just tried them for the first time last Friday. I’m glad I did. I saw Karmin. It was the best haircut I have had in a long, long time. She took the time to layer it really nice and listened very well about what I wanted. I had given up almost on a good haircut and figured just make due was the norm. Well now I know where i’m going from here on out. Thank you Karmin!

I have my hair cut only a couple of times a year here by Emily. Even though I come so infrequently, Emily always remembers exactly how I want my hair cut and styled. No matter when I come the salon is always busy. It’s clean and they use and carry top of the line hair products. My mom goes to Emily about every four weeks to have her hair cut and colored, and her hair always looks good. Always.

This review was long overdue, I had gone to Brecyn for an ombré last year and took a picture of what exactly I needed done, color included. My hair dresser whose name I forgot (redhead) made a complete mess out of the ombré (roots were lighter than ends because she added foils to the top of my head which came out a weird metallic color. I did let her know that it was a disaster but she did not have time to fix it right then and there and to be honest I did not want her anywhere around my hair at that point.
I called again and was given another appointment with one of their more experienced hairdressers, who basically interrogated me before fixing my hair, to make sure that the dreadful result I got from the first one was not my fault. The «fix» which took almost 4 hours was better than the mess but nowhere near what I wanted and left my hair in poor shape.
Needless to say I never went back.

I’ve been getting my hair done at BreCyn for years now and have to say the staff is beyond helpful and always so kind. They seem to have a great group of stylists with years of experience and every time I go in it seems they’re offering new services, be it waxing, facials, or new products. They stylists are constantly taking classes on new techniques and learning new styles of up-​dos and practicing on their own time and it’s so refreshing to know they’ll be prepared for whatever I request.
Emily is beyond amazing and my hair always turns out exactly the way I request. What I appreciate most is it is not an intimidating environment. At other salons I’ve been afraid to ask to come back in if I needed an extra inch taken off after a major haircut or if I needed my bangs a little bit shorter but Emily is always so great to fit me in when it’s convenient for my schedule and more than happy to make changes until I’m 100% pleased with the outcome, even though she only ever gives me exactly what I ask for to begin with. Sometimes you just don’t know if you love it until you get home and style it for a few days on your own and being able to go back in without feeling guilty is so refreshing.

I have been coming to Brecyn Salon since I was 9 years old. Michelle is absolutely the best stylist I have ever come across. This salon is awesome because they offer amazing and on-​trend hair color without a big price tag! This salon really values education because the stylists are always talking about the latest training they went to and how they can’t wait to try out new color techniques. This is definitely a place that you can feel confident asking for an awesome ombré or perfectly blended foil: I’ve had just about every color hair can be, and Michelle has done it perfectly!
This salon uses Redken color and also offers Smoothing treatments. My mom and I have been getting Smoothing treatments from Andrea and we love it! It totally transforms my frizzy, damaged hair into a more manageable coif.
The place is always perfectly clean and inviting, and they have a pleasant waiting area with coffee and tea. The magazines are current too, which is a must! I wish that they had online booking, but at least the front desk staff is always fast and efficient on the phone.

Karyn Sloan has joined the team at brecyn and I can’t be more excited, I followed her career for years and had my color done by her in California, She is highly experienced and educated as well as warm and just fun to spend time with. I had my color corrected by Karyn a few times when I got Lazy and strayed into other salons. She always has a warm smile on her face and is genuinely happy to see me and can start right up with the conversation we had a year ago… amazing. Washington we are so lucky to have her!
