Best Italian food and seafood right outside the city! No need to go to the North End when Abbondanza’s is located a few miles from Boston. I have been here a few times with family and friends and the owners and staff always make us feel so welcome. We have had many dishes on the menu as well as specials but my two favorites are the Pork Chops with homemade vinegar peppers and potatoes and the Frutti di Mare in a fradiavalo sauce over homemade pasta. Two specials that our table ordered were amazing as well — the Grilled Calamari with sauteed hot cherry peppers and the Butternut Squash Risotto with Pan Seared Sea Scallops. They have a nice selection of wines to choose from as well as a full bar. The homemade tiramisu and cannolis were delicious and the service is always exceptional. Can’t wait to go back!

I have been going to dinner here for about 5 years. I have never had anything that I did not like. My recent favorite is the homemade fusilli with the bolognese sauce. My other favorite is the seafood trio of haddock scallops and shrimp with breadcrumbs in oil. Delicious! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable. The bread is outstanding. I wish we lived closer so I could go more often.

Food is outstanding. Authentic Italian. Portions are huge so be careful. We had the fusilli with Bolognese sauce and it was better than anything I’ve ever had in the North End. The grilled pork chop with vinegar peppers and roasted potatoes was divine as was the baked cod. Fresh ingredients. Outstanding. I could go every day and never get tired of this place.

I have been going to Abondanza for close to twenty years and it is still one of my favorite places in the Boston area. Family owned, and the food is as good or better than anything you’ll find in the north end. Everyone I take there absolutely loves the place… too bad I can’t give six stars!

I’ve been here several times as I live around the corner and I can’t say anything bad about my experiences here. The food was always well done and flavorful. The bread is pretty yummy and it’s hard to resist filling up on it before the food comes. Also they give you a little piece of flat bread with cheese on it as part of the bread basket and it is pretty damn delectable. Highlights that I’ve had are: Sautéed beans and escarole Mussels in a yummy white sauce Stuffed veal chops(they have a few variations, I’ve tried the special which was stuffed with prosciutto and cheesy goodness and I forget what else) Pork chops with vinegar peppers and potatoes(YUM) Baked haddock with a crabmeat and spinach stuffing. The portions are generous. You will definitely bring something home, or at least I usually have! I’ve actually never tried dessert in this place because I’ve always been so full by the end of the meal and I have absolutely no more room. The food is moderately priced in my opinion. Compared to the other food places in the neighborhood, they are on the higher priced side. Appetizers run about $ 12-$ 15 ish Entrees run around mid to high $ 20’s range. I forget about the pasta and pizza. That being said, I feel you definitely get what you pay for. I have never left feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth. I find the pricing very fair for the good quality of the food, not to mention the quantities too =P Service is overall good. The servers are polite and knowledgeable about the food. Also they seem eager to want to get things right for you, as they are very accommodating to substitutions or requests. At times it can be a little slow, but I can let it slide. The servers try their best to be attentive but can get overwhelmed when it gets busy. Still it’s not necessarily a negative, more an observation. Overall a good neighborhood place with solid food.

Haven’t been to this establishment in a few years. Not sure what’s changed as owners and cooks are the same. Mid week I went for dinner with a party of 3. I used a valupak coupon for buy one entrée get one free. The waitress advised me there was a cap of $ 12. I was surprised and when she showed my it was indeed in the small fine print. What baffles me is they don’t offer many IFANY entrees in that price range or lower. I certain don’t mind paying full price for quality food however their coupon was extremely misleading which to me is inexcusable. The veal was great but the portions were small compared to how I remember them. Too bad because I always considered this restaurant top notch. Waitress was great and very accommodating

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. Our waitress was lovely and nice and the food was delicious and excellent quality. My whole family from my 11 year old son to my 70 year old mother and my foodie husband were happy. My son loved the house salad dressing, the bread and the chicken Parmesan and polished off every thing. I had the risotto with cherry tomatoes, asparagus and shrimp and it was excellent. My husband had a veal chop. I will go again the next chance I have. The desserts were great too: crème brûlée, profiteroles, cappuccinos. I highly recommend this restaurant! We had a great time!

An absolute gem. My favorite restaurant in Greater Boston… puts many North End establishments to shame. Do yourself a favor and check it out…

Great service and great food. I’d rather come here to ease my Italian food cravings than get stressed from the hassle of driving and parking in North End. The owner is straight from Italy, Antoinette(head waitress) knows Italian food like no other(found out shes from Italy, as well), and the food is never disappointing. Seriously, I would choose this place over over-rated North End. They serve mini slices of pizza with dinner rolls, too!

One of the worst restaurant services in my LIFE. My wife and I had a reservation and were seated and waited to be given the menu and the wine list. A couple were then seated next to us while we waited for said items. They were given their menus, had their order taken and the waitress saunters off. I had to hail the busboy to ask for our menus. Then I had to ask the waitress when she eventually came around to ask for the wine list. The aforementioned couple that came in before us got their salads and I had to hail the waitress yet again that we’d like to ORDEROURFOODANDDRINKS. That being said, the real wait began. The couple next to us that came in after us get their apps and are digging into their main course when we get our appetizer. They finish, get the check and leave. About 90 minutes into the meal, the busboy comes over and asks if we have finished our meal and would like anything else. I tell him that we’re wondering where the hell our meals ARE to begin with. He runs off to find out and about 10 minutes later we get our dishes which are mediocre at best. After 2+ hours we can finally leave after having to hail the waitress for the check. With service like this, never again will I even consider to eat at this«best restaurant that Everett has to offer.»

I love Italian food and due to that I end up in the North End quite often. Abbondanza is better than some of the restaurants in the North End and truly the best thing Everett has to offer. If you live in this area and haven’t gone to Abbondanza then you must go! The place is similar to North End restaurants in that the size of the restaurant isn’t huge. The service has always been great with a very friendly wait staff. Most important to note is the quality of the food is superb. For appetizers I would recommend the eggplant rolatini or mussels. They are both equally amazing. If you’d rather have soup then I’d recommend a cup of their pasta fagiolie. For entrees, if they have the beef braciole and homemade rigatoni special then you must order it. It is so incredible and definitely one of my favorites. Some of my other favorite entrees are the butternut squash ravioli, chicken and shrimp Romano with homemade fusilli, and the frutti dimare. Each dinner also comes with a garden salad and their homemade dressing on the side. The bread they serve before dinner is hot and probably the best bread in any restaurant. Seriously, I could just come here for wine and bread(I’m a carbaholic). ;)For desserts I would recommend the cannoli and an espresso martini.

I ordered takeout from here. I was craving pasta and decided to go here since it has been reviewed so well. I ordered the gnoochi with marinara sauce. It was very good and obviously handmade. The portion was large enough that it took me 2 days to eat it all and it tasted even better the next day. It lived up to the hype. The resturaint itself seems pretty upscale, but I would rather get dinner t go.

Food = 4 Stars Service = –2 Stars The food here is actually pretty good but the service is less than desired. There is a very rude middle aged grumpy waitress who has waited my tables the past 2 times I have been here. I used to order from here all the time for delivery to my parent’s house when I visit but my last trip to this restaurant has put a pause on that. The waitress is very condescending and talks to you as if you are a criminal. I admit, I came in dressed in workout clothes, but I believe everyone should be treated with respect. I work in hedge funds and some of our biggest clients dress very casual to avoid any public attention. FYI: the prices to eat in the restaurant are much higher than their take out menu. With the north end so close, there’s not really a reason to come visit this restaurant.

Abbondanza is a good Italian restaurant for outside of Boston. Easily the best restaurant in Everett! I have tried numerous salads and pasta dishes. Everything tastes really great and the service is fast! Definitely try this place out. I am not sure about the reviews talking about its better than the North End but it is definitely up to par with some of them!

As good or better than the North End. No frills inside but more importantly, this offers incredible, authentic Italian food. We ordered the Eggplant Rollatini appetizer(worth 5 stars by itself) — it was the best I have ever had, hands down. It was a mouthgasm of perfectly tender eggplant filled with creamy ricotta, parm, fresh basil and spinach, swimming in a zesty, clearly homemade, fragrant tomato sauce. The Grilled Calamari Salad was a beautiful platter of romaine lettuce with a generous serving of beautifully seasoned, tender, delicately grilled baby octupi, roasted red peppers, a mildly spicy pepper, and high grade balsamic vinegar(not oily, tasteless dressing, but pure… rich… balsamic). Wonderful texture and flavor. Friendly service and quality you would expect from the dozens of awards on the walls. What a gem, can’t wait to go back!

Best Italian outside North End. You don’t have to go to North End anymore for those who live in Everett, Malden, & Chelsea. We’ve been here 3-times this year & never disappointed! Each time we ordered the Special Grilled Calamari as an appetizer(to die for!). For main course, I had Vitello ala Marsala, Fileto Ripieno(Haddock w/Crab meat), and Rollo di Vitello(Veal Roast stuffed w/Prosciutto). Dessert we had limoncello and orange gellato!!!
