Style Encore – Evansville

I like this place because of the prices! It is definitely a hit or miss! They usually have great clothes for sale! If you sell something here don’t expect to get a lot for it.

Love Style Encore in Evansville. As a teacher with limited money, I can always find something that fits my spending capability. Usually I leave with something pretty cool, like an Elie Tahari blouse which I otherwise could not afford.
The opening promotion for this store was great and many customers walked away with quality merchandise. Where else could you get an $ 1800.00 Louis Voittaine bag for $ 400-​$ 500. The store as held several give back nights for local charity. In fact last night they did one for the local PTA Clothing Bank, Hanger’s and it was a kick-​off for the new Teacher Tuesday promotion. 10% off every Tuesday for teachers with ID. Great!!!
Like Plato’s Closet they buy clothing on the spot. Make sure the labels are current and not several years old. Get to know the staff and they will know what you like and keep you in mind when your favorite thing becomes available.
You just never know what hidden gem you will find at Style Encore Evansville. Things for coming to town!

This store just opened on 9÷18÷2014. I went in a day after they opened and was underwhelmed. The merchandise was mostly unknown brands, with the exception of a fake Tiffany ring, some coach purses, and Merona from Target. I also saw some Willi Smith items from TJMaxx.
I was inspired to purge my closet because of the prices they tagged their clothing (i.e. $ 25 for a used white Merona jacket. Hello… it’s FALL, $ 12.00 for used no-​tag scarves, etc.)This is what I brought in to them:
1 New with tags, on sale for $ 175.00, Talbots navy wool double-​breasted jacket.
2. One season old Bloomingdales coat. No signs of wear.
3. Chicos jacket that I wore once and was less than 2 years old.
4. New with tags Talbots black silk pants.
5. Black peasant style dress from Express that I wore once.
6. New with tags INC. skirt.
7. New Ralph Lauren silk skirt.
8. New with tags Ralph Lauren silk blouse.
9. New with tags Ann Taylor Loft skirt
They did not buy any of the items. They said they were «Out of Style».
And rather than give the items back to me as I gave the items to them (Handed over, on hangers, clean and wrinkle free). They wadded them up and threw them in a bin. I had to go through and put the items back on the hangers. OK so they didn’t buy my new items. But why did they buy the low end, worn items they had in the store? Seriously. I wasted my time taking my things to this store. And I won’t go back as a shopper either because I can buy Merona at the Target store first-​hand cheaper than they were selling it used. Bottom line: If you have nice clothes, forget about taking them to Style Encore. And, if you want NICE clothes, don’t expect to find them at Style Encore.
