bought 2 pair of shoes 340 $, and special insoles. Got home and found one of the insoles missing, called immediately. The insole was at the store. stopped in the next day to pick it up, and found they had thrown them in the garbage! They offered a replacement, only they did not have any more. So told us to come back when or if they would get some. Strange people over there.

I need to have a lift in one shoe. I took a brand new pair of shoes to Riecken’s to install the lift. They ruined the shoe by slicing cuts in the bottom of the lift so that my foot gets wet when I wear them. Paid over $ 100 for the lift, the new shoes are ruined, and Riecken’s says they don’t guarantee the orthopedic repairs. Buyer beware.

Suggested shoes for my brother-in-law who plays varsity tennis. They weren’t for tennis, they fell apart in less than 2 weeks, then wouldn’t exchange them. My Mother-in-law told the salesman that she wanted shoes specifically for him to play tennis in. He would not be wearing them off the tennis court. She bought the pair suggested by the salesman for $ 138+tax. The receipt called them«Mens Run SL2 Motion» size 11.5. Less than 2 weeks later, the shoes had a hole worn in them. She took them back to Riecken(assuming it would be no problem because of Riecken’s great reputation) and the salesman told her she bought the worng kind of shoe for playing tennis. She bought the shoes that were recommended to her. She even told him which salesman she spoke to… and he said, «well he’s our least experienced salesman.» After talking to a manager, they offered me 20% off of a new pair of shoes… no replacement… nothing. They admitted that they reccommended the wrong type of shoes. I don’t know what the right kind of shoe is, that is why people go to Riecken to get professional advice. They sold her running shoes that fell apart, and lost $ 138.

Went there willing to spend more money for shoes to try and get good ones for my sons tennis matches. The sales associate told us what he recommended and so we purchased. My son used them 6 times and they have holes in the sides of them. We took them back to the store asking for help on this(hoping to exchange them for something that would do better or at the absolute least pro-rate them). They told us that we purchased the wrong shoes. Granted, we paid $ 35 dollars more for the shoe that was wrong as opposed to purchasing the correct pair. After explaining that the sales associate told us to purchase this pair we were told that he was new and didn’t know very much. At some point it would have been nice for a home town store to do the right thing and allow us to exchange the shoes especially since they were the ones that told to buy the wrong shoe in the first place. We are profoundly disappointed. It is sad to see that people wont stand up and take responsibility in terms of customer service. We come to you because you are the professional and this is how we are treated.
