Dave can do a lot of work in a short period of time, but it’s sloppy. When he left on his final day. I pointed out areas where he got paint on trim, window panes, hardware, and outlet covers. He told me I could clean it up with rubbing alcohol. I thought I paid him to do the work. In addition, I had to call him to have him do touch-​up work of areas he missed and dirt he painted into the wall. I gave him an organized list by paint color of spots to fix, as I had to go to work. He barely fix a thing. At one point he told me he couldn’t fix certain colors because I was out of that paint color. I thought I paid him a contracted price that included all paint to finish a completed job. I also pointed out a small wall area around a window and a cabinet that needed paint. He told me he didn’t have a brush small enough to paint it. Are you serious?! You’re a professional painter without a small brush?! Finally, don’t even get me started on all the paint drips on furniture, counters, carpets, and blinds. He’s also racist — making comments about our cable guy. I wish there was a better way to find contractors. I hope this review helps someone else that is looking for a painter.
Update: Dave did not properly prep our walls for paint. Our walls were originally painted with an oil based paint. He recommend we use latex, but he didn’t properly sand the oil based paint for the latex to adhere. The smallest scrap against the wall or trim scratches and removes the paint.
