Loooooove cheddars! They have something for the whole family. Generous portions and great prices. Food and service is outstanding.

Had dinner at Cheddars. The food and service were very good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Only problem we had was my daughter bit into a piece of plastic in her salad. Manager was very apologetic, but did not credit our bill in anyway.

Waited for apps for over 30 minutes, then they bring the apps with the meal. Horrible service. Will never return.

We had a Cheddar’s location in Champaign, IL for many years, but it closed down shortly before this location opened in Evansville. For that reason, we really enjoy going to this location when we visit.
We intentionally got here early because we had a large party (6 adults, 4 kids). We had about a 30 minute wait, but that wasn’t too bad. Cheddar’s has not historically been able to accomodate us well with a party this size and made us split into separate tables, but I was very happy to see that they set us all up at a single table this time.
We’re big fans of the Onion Rings, so we got 2 orders of those and an order of chips & queso. The queso was decent, but nothing too special. Great onion rings though!
Most of my group got Chicken Tenders + fries in some form. A couple of us ordered ribs, one Hickory Smoked and one Honey BBQ. The Hickory ribs were good, but very dry. I’m told that the Honey BBQ ribs were better in that regard, presumably due to more sauce being used. I’m not usually a big fan of cole slaw, but the slaw here was notably better than most. One member of the party ordered a Cajun pasta and reported that it was very good also.
Our server was named Melinda, and she kept me stocked with sweet tea, so service was great in my opinion.
Nothing happened that would make us hesitate to come back. It gets VERY crowded in the evenings on weekends, so allocate time appropriately.

While the food and drink were amazing, the service left much to be desired. A football game was on, so we opted to sit at the bar so we could watch. Unfortunately both bartenders were equally interested in the game and seemed put off anytime we requested anything. Given that the only things we requested were things missing from our order, silverware and a refill of our drinks; I’d say there was a lot of room for improvement.

Food was good service was a little slow. About average value. Not going to write home to Mom. All in all I’d come back again, but wouldn’t rush back.

If you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault. The portion sizes are very big! Atmosphere is very nice, great wait staff!

Food is great but the service is slow. The entire wait staff walks around like they are lost, looking for someone to take them by the hand. Don’t dine here if you are in a hurry.

Don’t get the steak. Dry and tough for a medium cooked piece of meat. Sandwiches and service have been a good experience for me. I pick the off hours so there had not been a bad wait time.

Used to love coming here but service keeps declining. Food is great at other Cheddar locations but here, well, just average. And yet constantly busy!

One of my favorite restaurants in eville. Service and food is great for the price. Huge portions compliment the casual setting. All in all a great value!

I’ve been to Cheddars about four times now. The food I’ve had has been great.
There seems to be change in a lot of the staff. They seem to stand around in clusters
talking about personal business .The food comes out in a reasonable time and is good when it gets there.

The portions are huge! My boyfriend and I went, we both ordered the New Orleans Pasta, basically a take on jambalaya, using pasta instead of rice. So good! We both took home leftovers. I had a total of 3 meals out of mine!

This place was great when it first opened but has lost a lot as far service and food quality, food is cheap but that’s what you get is cheap tasting food it’s like the staff doesn’t care any longer. The building and atmosphere is nice but like I service and food suck

Went there today with a parent. The appetizer of onion rings seemed nice enough, but when we got our burgers, it was sort of bland. Not to mention they told us that one of them had been dropped and we had to wait for another to be cooked. Unknown if they actually cooked both again for freshness, but the fact that the waitress said that my plate was hot for a burger dish put heavy doubt on that. It did taste generic and no good meat flavor was found. My mother said she was having stomach trouble a bit on the way home, and I thought I was lucky not to have the same. Until two hours later, when I got sick at home.
I do not recommend this place whatsoever.

I believe this is one of the best restaurants in E-​town! My husband and I have been there several times since it has opened, an every time, the service has been exceptional! I am in a wheelchair, so that is why I give it such a great rating. You just do not find that level of consideration in other places in town! Also, their food is seasoned and cooked to perfection. I just do not know how they can serve such large portions and make a profit! I usually have enough left to eat on for the next 3 days! Keep up the good work!

The price is great, but the wait is almost always interminable unless you’re going for a late lunch or a really late dinner. We’ve been once and had good service, but the last time we were there during dinner hour, the service was incredibly slow. My wife also ordered a steak medium well that came out rare. As for the food, it’s a nice selection of entrees that you can get just about anywhere else. The portion sizes are fairly large, so we’ve always had plenty of leftovers.

You know what the saddest thing to see on a sit down restaurant menu is?
«All burgers served medium well.»
Those five words make my heart sad and Cheddar’s has that on their menu.
Also, with a name like Cheddar’s, I expected cheese to play a more dominant role on the menu. Sadly, the only cheese on the menu was the stuff that came on top of burgers or sammuches.
I liked the décor of this place, but it had a distinct Mediterranean feel to the design, and I was eating American comfort food. Confuse!
With all my bitching, the reason this place gets 3 stars is because, even though my burger was served medium well, it was still really good, as were my fries. I’m convinced that if I had been allowed to get it medium rare, as I like it, my eyes would have rolled back into my head from meat joy.
Our server was also a real sweetheart and she was attentive without being overbearing.
Funny sidenote: It was a busy night and we were waiting and the time estimate that the host gave everyone who walked in the door was «21 – 26 minutes.» I rather liked the arbitrary choice of numbers for the wait time.

My favorite modern American style restaurant in Evansville!
Every dish I’ve had here has been amazing, especially the chicken tenders and onion rings. All the food has been served hot and in a reasonable amount of time. For dessert, you have to get a monster cookie ;-)
The building is large and looks very inviting. The interior is clean and fresh but isn’t overly engaging, which can be good or bad depending on your tastes. Love the bar and aquarium!
As for service, this is both it’s greatest strength and biggest weakness. Despite the other reviews I have read, I have had the best waiting service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant here. They’re quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to your every request, no matter how complicated or trivial. And the price! These dinners are some of the most competitively priced I’ve seen anywhere. You might have trouble spending more than $ 20 per person, and that’s even with appetizers!
HOWEVER, for a place that doesn’t take reservations, you do find yourself consistently waiting 30+ minutes during lunch and dinner hours. It’s not that they’re slow, but rather always packed. Still, this makes the place very hard to choose if you plan on having a party of more than six.
While I wouldn’t argue with someone who gave this place four stars, I feel the great food, cheap prices, and excellent service more than make up for the plain atmosphere and potential wait.

Very reasonably priced and really good food. The Monte Cristo Sandwich might be the best in the history of the universe.
Fantastic service, great atmosphere. Careful on what time you visit because it can be very crowded. Even when you have to wait it doesn’t take very long at all.
