Starbucks

This location is conveniently located between my house and my parents house, so I’ve been going here for years. Most of the baristas know my daughter and me by name, and they’re always friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately this location is closing soon. We’ll be sad to see it go.

This place is super slow and should be avoided at all costs and parking is a nightmare. There’s no drive-​through so you’re forced to walk in and deal with the idiot clerks that work here and who have no concept of customer service whatsoever and you can tell that they do not want to be here. Management needs to get a clue and start retraining these slackers!

We made a quick stop here on our way to do some shopping in Evanston. This is a rather large, elongated Starbucks that did not have many patrons. It seemed darker than other Starbucks than I have been into, but this might simply have been an illusion because of the emptiness.
But, I judge Starbucks by their coffee and this was just fine.

Great staff always nice and clean weekends are pretty busy

I was here yesterday and wanted to update my previous review to reiterate the quality of this location.
As far as Starbucks goes, this one is definitely one of the better ones I have been to. I came here on a Saturday afternoon, and it was packed (granted it was during the BOGO holiday drink specials). I didn’t have to wait for a table, though, and I was able to set up my laptop to get some work done. My friend joined me a bit later, and I was probably there for 2.5 to 3 hours. I never felt rushed, and the barista came over and chatted with us a few times while he was mopping the floor. There was another person camped out at the biggest table in the place (laptop, binders, textbooks) and she had been there when I came in and was still there when we left. No one ever rushed her, either. There’s also a guy who was in the corner eating Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and reading a magazine — I guess he’s a regular because the barista knew his name. He too was there when I came in, and was still there when I left. It’s nice that I can order one drink and stay for a few hours without feeling like I’m inconveniencing them.
Anyway, for a corporate chain like Starbucks, this one is really nice, the staff is friendly to the customers, and everyone is pretty chill. Usually corporate coffee shops don’t have the character and relaxed vibe that some of the independent stores do, but this one rivals a lot of the other coffee shops nearby.
I will say that one of the baristas was a little short tempered to another staff member («what does this mean? This isn’t how you mark this order»), but it’s likely just because of how crowded they were. I’ve had friends who work at Starbucks and get annoyed when customers don’t order drinks correctly, so I can understand it. I just felt a little awkward when I heard the barista say that to the guy who was ringing up my order.

If you’re lucky, like I was, you will get in line at this Starbucks and realize that Sweetchuck from the «Police Academy» movies is standing in front of you.
And if you’re even luckier, you’ll strike up a conversation with him and learn about how much he likes his Honda CR-​V. (Okay, that one wasn’t me, that was my friend. But he looked at both of us when he talked.)
It’s a Starbucks! There’s nothing I can tell you that you don’t already know.
Except that if there’s ever a torrential rainstorm, you don’t want to be trapped in here with three (3) eight-​year-​old girls’ soccer teams.
Coffee was spilled.

two fave drinks: coconut mocha frappé and the soy hazelnut latte!
favorite breakfast: must-​have are the turkey bacon egg-​white multigrain sandwiches
favorite snack: the hummus plate
they’re very fast at this location and the staff is very funny!

Friendly staff, nice layout, outdoor seating. That’s about it.
