I go to this store three or four times a year to buy some of the most beautiful mugs I’ve ever seen. They also have gorgeous hand-​painted tile clocks (small), lovely scarves, earrings, purses, and other unexpected nick-​nacks, including things for kids. My five stars are for: the quality of the things they sell, the wonderful owner (who is always cheerful and kind), the locally sourced goods, the artistic and aesthetic beauty of everything, and (for me) the proximity to my home. It’s well worth a trip.

Don’t miss this shop! Not only are the items unique, handmade, and precious, the owner is a lovely woman who will take time to chat with you and help you find whatever you’re looking for. This is the first place I go when I’m looking for a special gift. Wonderful place!

I really love the idea of this shop and it is SOOO very rare to find. Everything in the store is American-​Made and you can tell everything is very high quality. Every time I am «home» in Chicago, I try to stop by this lovely place.

Shaker Traditions is a tiny, one room shop in Evanston that specializes in handcrafted gifts. Everything is made in America and the stuff is absolutely beautiful. There are these hand blown glass vases and bowls by this one artist that are astonishingly lovely. They also sell those Shaker style oval boxes, pottery, candles, tea, and some jewelry. I found the prices to be incredibly fair for the quality of the pieces. A nice place to check out — especially if you are searching for a gift!
