Party Like A Rock Star At 27 Live

Man, Angela has a talented family. Her husband’s band rocked the house that night!
I could have gotten into the Elite Hour… but Wiener and Still Champion! Good thing I ate ahead of time too, because there was so much to explore in this place that by the time I thought of food it was just about gone.
I broke up my time between the bar upstairs and one of the upstairs lounges. We took photos with the photobooth-​y guy and I grabbed a delicious Veev cocktail after getting an oddly warm beer.
I ran into Anne S. and her husband on the stairs. We had a yell-​versation with each other before realizing how much quieter the rooms against the wall were. I really liked all the pillows and scarves that decorated it. I also plopped down by the basket of Pop Rocks and went to town.
The henna artists were a nice touch and I think I’m going to make some earrings out of the Unilocal guitar pick swag.

Angela did it again! What a great venue. The band ROCKED!!! The Joplin cover really brought back memories. They had no trouble covering any of the unfortunate gone by 27 talent.
The henna artist putting a little glam into the event was awesome. I loved my skull tattoo, though now that I have sported it for a few weeks, I am really glad it isn’t permanent.
I enjoyed talking to the artist that had the paintings of all the various musicians past.
The food was really good. I especially loved the carrot chips, who would have known that something so good for you was really good. The veggie slider was really tasty too.
y first time in the photo booth only to find that it wouldn’t print. Hope I didn’t break the camera. LOL

The wonderful Angela did not disappoint at her Party like a Rock Star event, the venue was an awesome concept. It was like being backstage at a show. There was a dressing room, recording studio and a whiskey bar upstairs. Downstairs was the stage and another bar.
There were some light bites provided. I noshed on some pizza, carrot chips and was finally able to get my hands on a blue cheese burger which was yummy.
As for the drinks, there was a limited menu promoting the liquor of the night Veev which I really enjoyed. They were not kidding around with these drinks. They made them strong! I thought it was a super cute idea that Angela made a check in offer for the event as well. It made this girl feel extra special. My favorite drink of the night was the purple haze but I had them add a splash of sprite because it was a work night and I am a weenie apparently.
The live music was an awesome touch. The talented musician rocked out for the majority of the event with covers we could all sing along to while shaking our booties!
I brought a plus one who I made create a Unilocal account prior to coming to this event. It was an eye opening experience to the world of Unilocal.She now has her heart set on becoming elite.

Unilocal shot glasses as swag? Angela, you’re amazing!
Add in some fantastic music (my +1 was jammin!), yummy foods (mac ‘n’ cheese bites and Italian Beef pizza, was it?) and, of course, fun drink combinations… what a FUN event!
We really loved the venue and have promised to look up future events here! Great seating and looks like it could be cute for a group or some one-​on-​one time. Lovely evening and we’re so glad that we were part of this party!

I had a great time at the event «Partying like a Rock Star» and I am also looking forward to exploring 27 live on my own to see what type of feel the place has when Unilocal isn’t there.
I want to thank Angela she did an excellent job she was a great host and I look forward to going to some other events.
I feel bad because I actually got to meet and talk to the owner but I can’t remember his name. He was very nice and said the food that was served was normal items that they serve at 27 Live.
I loved the burger although I took the lettuce and tomato off my black bean burger and added to my beef burger… yum.
The pizza was okay not the best I ever tasted but certainly not the worse.
The mac n cheese bites were Awesome as well as the carrot chips.
I wasn’t a fan of the secret drink or the beer but I did enjoy the purple haze and martini.
I was glad we were able to get in first as an Elite but there really wasn’t any special treat besides we got to eat first.
I liked all the rooms they had and how they were all themed. There was an artist there he did out of this world work entitled «Lost Souls», another room had photography, there was also a Whiskey Room… with some great bartenders.
I enjoyed the evening and I was glad I had the opportunity too meet new people and have a blast.

My +1 and I had such a fantastic time at this event! Angela and the North Shore paid attention to detail, down to a luxurious red carpet entrance, garters/​headbands in the Whiskey Lounge, pop rocks in one of the rooms, wax lips, and more! Throughout the night, we enjoyed nomming on the food provided by 27 Live. My absolute favorite were the fried macaroni and cheese bites. Shaped like triangles, these babies were delectable and filled me right up. Seriously, I will dream about them! This may be one of my new favorite indulgences. The carrot chips were also a favorite that I am now determined to recreate in my own kitchen. Later on in the evening, I fell in love with the brownie bites, too. Well done, 27 Live!
At one point in the night, Angela asked me what my favorite part was and I have it a lot of thought. Was it the henna? I got a beautiful and intricate design on my left hand. Or was it the awesome new Unilocal swag: playing cards! Or was it the music? I thoroughly enjoyed the great cover music by bands I love. We enjoyed swaying to the music and sipping on drinks. We really enjoyed taking pictures at the photo booth. Fingers crossed those pictures show up in my email!

This was my first Unilocal Elite event and I enjoyed getting meet other Elites and see some familiar faces as well.
The drink menu was limited and I wasn’t a fan of the craft beers available, I would have liked to have seen other options. The food was decent, I really enjoyed the Mac and cheese bites. The carrot chips were really good, and addicting. We made the mistake of eating lunch so those are the few options I had.
The swag available was cool. Angela S did a great job organizing the event and making sure she greeted everyone. We were upstairs most of the time so didn’t get to hear the band much but everyone dancing looked like they enjoyed it.
Looking forward to the next event!

This was my first North Shore event, and it was nice to get out to the area early and check out a lot of places that were new to me. When I arrived at 27 Live, there was a small line outside, and Angela S. came outside and greeted us all. The red carpet and step and repeat outside was a fun touch. It set the mood and got me excited for what would be inside. I did arrive at 6:30 p.m., because elites got early access, but looking back nothing special transpired before some of my friends showed up closer to 7:00 p.m.
I met up with some friends shortly after I arrived. Since I was my own DD, I didn’t get to try every cocktail on the menu, but I did try the Purple Haze and loved it. Cucumber and cassis? Let’s be honest, I knew I would love this cocktail! Later I tried one of the Temperance beers, but it was warm. I took a few sips and abandoned the rest.
As for the food, I was really disappointed. The pizza wasn’t much better than a frozen pizza and some others agreed. My burger was raw in the middle too, so obviously I didn’t finish that. I did like the carrot chips and the macaroni and cheese bites though. Someone mentioned something about dessert shots… I never saw those and we stayed until almost the end.
I liked that there were some fun activities for us to do like the henna artist (my friend got a really cool looking ankle tattoo) and the photo booth was fun. But here’s the downfall: the printer to the photo booth was broken. No problem, since the guy said we could e-​mail the photos to us. I went to the photo booth on two different occasions, typed in my e-​mail address, and double checked it… well it’s a few days later, I’ve checked my junk mail… nothing. It’s not a matter of life and death, but it is kind of disappointing.
As a venue, 27 Live is pretty neat. The band they had was pretty good, and if you aren’t into live music, then being upstairs in the Whiskey Lounge was a bit like a sanctuary away from the noise.
Kudos to Angela S. for putting this all together and embracing the theme in her Kurt Cobain t-​shirt.

What’s in a name? — The 27 Club is a group of popular musicians who died at age 27.
Location, location, location — Downtown Evanston right on Church Street, conveniently located around the corner from public parking garage that is affordable (roughly $ 1/​hour) or take the train because the stop is practically next to the club (Evanston Davis St).
The event — Awesomeness off the hook, an extremely nice event from North Shore Unilocal and 27 Club, plus all the awesome vendors that participated. Unilocal literally rolled out the red carpet, I felt like I was at the Grammys outside the club.
The drinks — There was not a dud to be had, great beers, drinks, and food. My drink faves — the old fashioned and the porter. My wife liked the Purple Haze.
As for food — my personal faves were the sausage jalepeno pizza, the beef burgers, the carrot chips, and the fried macaroni bites. I usually do not care for fried snack food but these bites were an exception.
Later in the evening they put some sweets out, cream puff pastries (Profiteroles?) That were deceptively good. The chocolate squares I was not into as much.
The music — The band was really good and kept us going on 27 classics most of the night.
The venue — is really cool with an open area down stairs with seating and bar, stroll up stairs to find three party rooms and the whiskey room (separate bar area). Bathrooms are conveniently located towards the back on both levels.
The people — everyone seemed very friendly and social which really makes a difference at an event like this. I really enjoyed getting to meet some folks in person that I only have known online, and making new friends as well.
The swag — Unilocal out did themselves and there was plenty of swag to be had with enough variety that there was something for everyone — guitar pick, shot glass, sweat band, playing cards, sun glasses, pins, etc. Very cool.
The check in — But of course there was a special check in just for this event that gave you a comp feature drink which was this very cool acai spirit vodka — VeeV — check it out (70 proof).
The charity — Make-​A-​Wish Illinois was in house accepting donations for good cause.
The art — With artists and henna as well, this event was all about fun.

I had a great time last night. Angela and 27 Live really now how to throw a rock party/​concert.
The house band at 27 Live is really good. They are very entertaining to hear. (Granted, I would have preferred that it wasn’t so loud, but that is kind of the point of a rock concert.)
I thought the whole space was so cool looking. I loved the skylights and all the wood, and the whiskey lounge was awesome (but hot, so I didn’t spend much time in there).
The food and drinks were tasty.

Great evening! I can definitely say that the bartenders did not skimp on the liquor. The food was good. I am really craving the burger they had out. The space was really cool looking. The house band was really good. As others said, they were really loud, but that is the nature of the beast. There was a lot of neat, different swag than usual. Can we say, Pop Rocks?
The only reason why we left so early was due to my ride having to be up early in the morning.

My fiancé and I got there pretty late, but better late than never:)
We tried the pizza and the carrot chips, which were delicious, but really it’s all about the drinks, and they were STRONG! I had the purple haze and went upstairs to get the «secret drink» by checking in on the Unilocal app.
The live music was so much fun to listen to and everyone seemed to have a blast rocking out.
The venue is awesome and very spacious. Upstairs, they have a few private rooms, with each room better and cozier than the next. It’s also where all the cool swag items were… love me some Unilocal swag!
All the staff members were incredibly friendly, great service, and the bartenders did a stellar job with the drinks.
It really was a great night and I’m so happy to have found this place (not too many live music venues in the suburbs). I can’t wait to go back!!!

This was the first Unilocal Chicago North Shore event that didn’t involve getting fit or learning a new skill. I wondered just how hard Angela could rock.
As it turns out, she doesn’t rock at all…

What a great event! The venue is awesome, with a stage for a kick-​ass house band, a second floor with amazing private rooms, and a «secret» whiskey bar.
The food was very tasty, with sliders, pizza and fried mac and cheese bites.
Props to the bartending staff who know how to make a stiff drink.
I wish I could give this event another star for having watermelon Pop Rocks.

Very nice, not that small music venue, that I had no idea existed downtown Evanston. Very cute space on the upper deck overviewing the stage. I can see myself Coming here for a jazz night as I hear they have or renting the venue for a party.
The «Party Like a Rock Star» at 27 live was awesome. Tasty food, awesome company, I fully enjoyed every minute of it especially that I got to spend it with some very cool fellow Unilocalers. It just does not get better than this.
By the way I took 2 brownies to go for my husband. He says thank you! And I gave him a special guitar pick. He liked that too.

The food was yummy (especially the mac and cheese triangles) and the drinks we so flavorful with the Veev sprits in them. The venue was great as well. There was a down stairs and an upstairs with longue seats through out. I loved how each room was a different theme. The band could be heard from through out the venue as well which is always a nice thing.
I did partake in all I could for my first event. including the henna. Both artist are amazing! I was asking everyone about their designs and was happy to even see some men partaking as well! I also met some great fellow Unilocalers and got to learn a new card game from them.
O and I can’t forget how fun it was to play a little dress up for the night. Just a little fun touch to the event getting to see all the fun outfits and styles.

Food was good. Would love to try the rest of the menu. We had these great cheese triangles. Yum. Hubby loved them.

My first Unilocal event! The Henna tattoos alone made this event 5 stars. I have always wanted to get one. Great job Celeste Beauty!
The venue itself was large and spacious. We enjoyed the whiskey lounge and the selfie room. Food was really good. I really liked the jalapeño pizza with sausage.
Can’t beat the cheap parking as well. 27 live has a great location in downtown Evanston.
