My friend ordered a pizza from them about a month ago requesting that it be delivered. The driver could not find the place so, he never received the pizza. They charged his credit card and would not reverse the fee! Stealing is illegal yet, they got away with stealing from my friend. Beware of the pizza thieves!!! He contacted the manager and they claim that he received the pizza so, even though he disputed the charge he was still charged because the pizza company lied to the credit card company.

Consistently gets my order wrong. After complaining for the second time, I will go elsewhere for pizza. This is the only papa johns location that I’ve had major issues with. Save yourself the trouble of having to go back to make the pizza right. UGH. When we went back to correct the crazy looking pizza they gave us(see photo), the woman gave us MAJOR attitude about not accepting this pizza. Very disappointing customer service.

Papa Johns: consistent and reliable. It is open late and always provides a flavorful and filling meal. I appreciate their extensive topping selection and quick delivery. I also appreciate the wide availability of coupons, great deals and low prices. For a cheap, quick and filling meal, you can’t beat Papa Johns.

Final Follow up — They did response very well in the end. My money back, some other perks and an apology. I would say that is quite excellent customer service and I WILL be buying from them again. Raised rating to a 4 star! Follow up — They do seem to be responding now. It was slow — took 24 hours and some complaining on my part, but their response has been overwhelmingly positive once they started responding. So I’ve upped my rating because they have begun to response positively. And they’ve promised some things so if they do provide them I will be happy to once again purchase from them, as it does appear they care about their customers. Wow — I love the Papa Johns but the reviews are right — the service at this place is unbelievably awful. Placed an order, got pizza — they didn’t bring my 2-liter of soda. Guy said he’d go get it and bring it back(delivery guy was nice). An hour later — no soda. Called store and they said«he just left.» That was 13 hours ago. Guess what — no soda. Emailed corporate and guess what they said? «We’ve forwarded your complaint to your local store.» Wow — great company. A follow up from corporate(their 2nd refusal to help)… Dear Valued Customer, Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. Unfortunately we are unable to provide a resolution to this issue, this is a store issue and has to be handled by the owners and operators of that location. We have sent you your incident number in case no one has contacted you within this 3 to 5 business day time period. Please feel free to contact us at the number below if you need any further assistance and one of our team members will be happy to help. Thank you for contacting us and have a wonderful day! Wow, the people who work here are majorly rude and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and don’t ever order from here; you can find much better food and not be treated like crap at other establishments. When someone calls to tell you their order is incorrect and that items were not delivered, being a jerkoff and questioning them for 10 minutes is not the way to handle the situation, especially when a third party like GrubHub is involved. By the way, we really appreciate you doing the right thing and crediting us for the missing 2 liter of soda, like we asked. Showing up at our door an hour later with it is not what we asked for. Learn some communication among yourselves, within apps that you put your business on, and RESPECT to your paying customers. I guess after seeing that you already had 2 stars should have told me something from the get-go. Oh, and did I mention the irony of getting numerous repeated calls throughout the evening from unknown and blocked numbers since we called out this place on their BS? Interesting…

Uh… What’s with the bad reviews? I love Papa Johns. And this place in particular is always fast. Their record delivery time for me is 15 minutes. Their coupons are amazing. And they send a ton, so I always have one to use when I decide on last minute pizza. As far as taste goes, it’s always on point. I’m not sure why a lot of people don’t like the way Papa Johns makes their pizza. I almost feel offended. How can anyone turn their nose up at such deliciousness? And that garlic butter? Yes please. This review is a little aimless but I order from here SO much and always have such a good experience that I feel I owe them their much deserved 5 stars.

Been here for half an hour already. We showed up in person because no one answered the phone… for over 5 minutes. Then, we sat here waiting for the pizza and the pizza came out without cheese. No one offered to make it right or apologized. I am still waiting for my pizza. Meanwhile I have been charged for extra garlic sauces…

Made the wrong pizza order and would not fix and bring correct pizzas to us. Ordered for a work party and they wanted us to bring pizzas back. Won’t order from here again.

I know that this is JUST a chain pizza place, but it’s awful. Terrible. Like, the worst. Honestly the pizza is ok but this location does not have their act together. I’ve ordered online twice from here, first time I was quoted 30 – 40 minutes for delivery but it took them about 75 to get my pizza to me. I called and complained and they told me that they would give me a 50% discount on my bill(they did not, full charge still on the card). I said I would never order from them again. Then, in a moment of «oh man, there’s nothing to make for dinner,» I ordered from them again. Again quoted 30 – 40 minutes for delivery. This time, pizza didn’t get to me for 90 minutes! That’s almost an hour late! Again I called, again they said they would take 50% off, though I asked for the whole check and they refused, but AGAIN, the whole total of the bill is on my credit card statement. Total bullshit this place.

I’ve ordered from Papa John’s in the past for my students as a treat. The orders came quickly, were hot and the pizza was tasty… No so much this time. The pizza was about 20+ minutes past the time they said, which was an hour for delivery,(so it ended up being 1 hr. and 20+minutes), and it was taste-less,(although, the students ate it). I ordered cheese sticks for myself and they were ho-hum. The sauce tasted like a run-of-the-mill off the shelf sauce. The crust was heavy due to greasiness and the cheese had no flavor — I could have been eating plastic. I ate about three of the sticks — hoping for an improvement — but I was left wanting in the end. I will give the competition a try again — they were not so good the last time, but what’s a teacher to do when you want to order something special and the kiddies cry PIZZA! They do not have discerning palettes.

Papa Johns used to have quality. Now it’s no better than any other chain pizza place. Actually it’s worse. Thus location took exactly 1 hour and 23 mins to get my cold pie. By the time I opened the box the cheese was hard and the garlic sauce coagulated. I called to complained but that got me nowhere. The kid didn’t really care. I will never order from this place or Papa Johns ever again. My girlfriend ordered Joy Yees at the same time. Took here 30 mins online to decide what to eat, and 15 to order on the phone. They delivered before Papa Johns.

A sponge, styro foam or piece of cardboard with marinara sauce tastes better than this pizza. I tasted it when I went to visit my best friend’s daughter at Northwestern University. She ordered pizza for a group of her friends who were due over to her apartment shortly. She insisted I take a slice of pizza for the road. I took one bite, spit it out and threw the rest of the slice in a garbage can. This was the worst pizza ever. The pizza was nasty, horrible, awful. No quality. Tasteless and greasy.

Work in Wilmette. I am very surprised to see the low ratings. I have ordered from this store very often and everything was ok. They did make a mistake on one order, but were quick to correct the order and apologize. Maybe I am one of the lucky ones.

Consistently inconsistent. Sometimes good sometimes bad. Disappointing when they can’t get the order right, especially when it’s done online. Delivery often takes way longer than expected. Often forget the sauces you may order Actually got a cooking pan left in one of my boxes once.

2 stars. I got this response from Eric Brock — PJ Operations Illinois… «Sorry for any inconvenience just use this email for your next pizza free. Please call the store when ordering.» Sounds like a canned or auto-response to me… but I’ll give them another star simply because they finally responded.

I lived off Papa Johns from 2000 – 2003 in another city. I’ve had the occasional overcooked pie or wrong ingredients. It happens and is forgivable. However, this pizza was a mess. I was excited to walk past a Papa Johns in Evanston and got very nostalgic for bread sticks with cheese sauce. The medium pizza that I made my girlfriend order was oddly soggy, luke warm, and tasted off. It seemed like they had cooked it well before and kept it warm. The bread sticks did not taste right and were burned. How do you mess up bread sticks? Why would you serve someone burned bread sticks? If anyone from this store is reading this, «If it is black, you did it wrong. Throw it out and start over.» I’d rather it have been late than never be able to convince my GF to get pizza from you again…

Let me reminisce for a little here. Eight to ten years ago I would have rated this location as five stars, because I could be found picking up pies from here quite often. Who could resist dipping into garlic sauce and don’t forget their other tasty sauces like cheese. Thinking about it makes my tongue water. The other night we were knee deep in good times and pizza was on our minds. Couldn’t find any decent late night options on the North side, so, placed a call here and they said they could help out. Only problem is that they deliver only, no carryouts ??? WTF? No carryouts after a certain time. Couple more calls and they finally agreed to deliver it to us — on the corner. When calling in you’re greeted with a recording explaining the current special, when a live person answers it’s at their will to explain their current specials, although getting them to tell you about the carry out specials isn’t an easy task.(For that reason I’ve taken a photo and posted it for you guys) We got there just as the pies came out of the oven, walked up to the door and found it open. Before we could step in one of the employees asked us to stop!, when asked why he responded«this is Papa John’s!» So what the F does that mean? We got the two pizza meal deal. Their BBQ sauce tasted pretty weird, think marinara mixed with BBQ sauce and that’s what it tasted like to us. It was hard to kill that pie, the chicken was all white meat and in thick strips. The second pie had typical toppings and while it tasted good going down, it hurt coming out. Hurt like, spending the next day feeling no hunger and ill feelings causing us to run for relief. We had leftovers and I made the mistake of having it again, after the first hurt I assumed it wasn’t the pizza. My second time eating it on an empty stomach confirmed the ill feelings were due to the Papa pies. Sad to say I won’t return to this location nor will I have any pizza, I’ll stick to the bread sticks and not at this place. I should have read reviews first, at least two others with similar complaints of diarrhea! Based on look and taste, I’d give them four stars, but the overall ill feelings and cost, two stars would be too much.
