Go home Evanston Unilocal, you’re drunk. How this place has a 4-star rating is a greater mystery to me than the origins of the universe. It’s bar food but there’s no bar. I had a sad Greek salad and my kids had some even sadder(probably microwaved) pizza. Sad to say it because this place seems like it has a ton of potential as a great«neighborhood hangout» but I won’t be returning unless they get a liquor license.

Maybe not everything there is 5 star Material but I got the Italian sausage combo and it was delicious double the cheese with the juice and it was big too happy

Pretty good food, but not kid/toddler friendly. They used to have diaper changing stations in their bathrooms, but they removed them. I’ve asked them if they were going to put the diaper changing stations back in the bathrooms and I was told no.

Best pulled pork in the area! Ask for the fries extra crispy and it’s even better. Would definitely come back!

We do cheeseburgers about once a month. Because it’s a rare treat, sometimes we opt for fancy digs and hefty prices and we always regret it. But we always come back here for some of the best, generously sized and delicious burgers in the area. No truffle oil on these guys! Our oldest loves the chicken tenders and the Greek chicken is pretty good. Given how many times we’ve eaten here, I should know the menu better, but those darn bacon cheddar burgers are hard to pass up. Great place for kids!

It’s ok. Not great, but for quick food it’s ok. If you can drive, there are better places around.

I randomly stumbled upon this place and sadly I wasn’t impressed.. the kids menu was your typical menu with reasonable price. However I ordered the gyro dinner and what I got, was not what I expected. My plate came with gyro meat, 4 triangle shaped pita bread, potatoes(you pick a side) and a «salad»(lettuce, tomato, onion), and tahini sauce… I had stopped here because I was craving a gyro that came PIECED together and not with the ingredients individually… sadly I was really bummed! :(

Nice little local place. Neat bench style seating with a few TVs inside to keep you entertained. Decent variety of food. Very tasty overall. Haven’t been here for a couple years but will make it a point to return soon. Great location right on Central in a nice little neighborhood.

I love this place! The owners and other staff are very friendly. They are very educated on gluten/gluten free food– their gyros are GF and they get GF pitas from the GF bakery across the street. My favorite thing is the chopped salad since they chop the pita up with all the other ingredients and top it with a delicious dressing. Other food I’ve had has been good, sometimes great. I stop by here at least twice a month and recommend it to everyone I know.

Great place to take the kids. The Greek Salad Wrap was awesome and soon to be added to the menu. Gelato is unique in a good way. Greek potatoes are tasty. The people are nice…

I liked the place, but wasn’t blown away. The staff could have been more welcoming and was a bit aloof, but the food was made fresh to order and was tasty. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and it had great flavor and was served with grilled chicken instead of fried. I was surprised by how small it was, but there was about a pound of fries to compliment the wrap. I am always looking for good lunch places by work and this will likely find its way into the rotation. I’ll be back here soon to try other menu items and their lunch specials.

Everything I’ve had here is very very good. They definitely know how to cool a good meal at the Old Neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back, often!

Friendly little neighborhood hot dog and hamburger joint that also serves ups some great Greek dishes. Super-friendly staff and a clean, bright atmosphere. ONG is a good place to grab some quick grub or take the kiddies to grab a burger and fries. The gyros are great. The cheese sticks come in mozzarella and blue varieties. If you like blue cheese try the sticks. They have a buffalo sauce flavor that is quite good.

Awesome food and great staff! I have lived down the street from here since Jan. and really glad i found this place. The Cheeseburger(bacon cheddar burger delicious as well[thick cut bacon mmm…]) is amazing… and well priced. Good fries and they use real Merkt’s cheddar on the cheese fries. Everything I have tried here has been excellent, great Greek food and baklava. The Mexican food is also authentic and delicious(the cooks are hispanic). Staff is great, John(owner) is very friendly all the time and usually working around the counter. Gyros plate also highly recommended, but the burger is surely my favorite in Chicagoland. Everything is well priced and it is an order at the counter place, but always very clean and well kept. Closed on sundays :(

I wasn’t flat out amazed, but I REALLY liked the place. It’s a cute little family business. I expected a sit-down place, but I liked that it was an order at the counter place. The Greek food was awesome. My boyfriend’s dad had a chicken kabob and loved it, my boyfriend had a gyro and(typically a picky eater with Greek), really enjoyed it. I had a veggie burger(because I was in a hurry to pick something!), but it was really good! They had great fries. The place is small, but has really large booths for big groups. There were lots of parents with small children, and the employees were SO friendly and cute with them! The big head guy was leaning over the counter and talking to a little boy at one point. Overall, it’s in a nice part of town and has a great atmosphere. It’s fast and super cheap! Appetizers are mostly around $ 2!

It’s been in our neighborhood for a while, but we just hadn’t gotten out of the old routine. I’m glad we finally did. The staff is friendly and inviting, our kids were a little rambunctious yet fit in, and the prices are very reasonable. The food is good, but not great. My wife had the chicken salad and while I thought it was good, she was unimpressed(and thought it had way too many onions). I had the bacon cheese burger — great bacon with an average burger. Still, I liked it and will definitely order again. My son had a plain cheese burger and ate it all up! My daughter ate the char-dog which I snuck a bite of and it was as good(if not as big) as other char-dogs in Chicago. The fries were pretty good as well. There is outdoor seating in the back which would be great on a nice day(it was raining for us), and I really like that it is BYOB(why get overcharged for alcohol only a few blocks from home, right?). All in all, this is a great neighborhood restaurant that is friendly, comfortable and kind to your wallet. Worth a try.
